Happy Monday!

January 27, 2020 by Mellie Dee Leave a Comment

Mikoto | Houston, Texas | Anna

Thought work was going to be tough but it ended up being a very good day. I even got to leave work for a quick lunch away. Anna and I went to Mikoto for all you can eat sushi and ramen. Everything was perfect and we got some laughs in. The food hit the spot. We were sad to go back so fast.

I even came home to Brudda, SIL, Emmy, and Finn! I’ve been spending my time with Emmy and got some Finn snuggles. Wishing I took some vacation to spend with them but I’ll take what I can get!

Happy Hour at High & Dry

January 17, 2020 by Mellie Dee Leave a Comment

Work has been getting harder and harder. I can’t seem to get a break. And feelings of suffocation is happening.

I left work later than planned, rushed home to let the pups out then headed to BIL’s to drop off the PS4. Jason came and was surprised at all the boxes and bags and even tape that still worked after so many years. He said it was like unwrapping a whole new PS4!

High & Dry | Houston, Texas | Old Fashioned & Love Street

Even though it was horrible at work, I was happy I got to be at happy hour with my old co-workers.

Salim dropped off his car at Sissy’s and we took an Uber to High and Dry. He was nice enough to get me a drink since I paid for the ride.

Priscilla and I had to take a selfie of course!

High & Dry | Houston, Texas | Priscilla, Mellie Dee, Salim, Aaron, John, Gilbert

Then one with all the boys, Salim, Aaron, John and Gilbert. The crowd was crazy and after throwing a few back we headed to eat.

Christian's Tailgate | Houston, Texas | Priscilla, Gilbert, Salim, Aaron, John

I hadn’t eaten since seven the previous night so I guess you could say I was having a dang good time. We ordered a whole table of food and had a great time talking, laughing, and singing along with the 90s music that was playing at Christian’s Tailgate.

We bid our farewells to Priscilla and then after a while, Salim called an Uber and we were out the door. A quick ride back to our cars where we said good night. I headed home since this week has been tough and my bed is calling my name. He, on the other hand, is still out partying. I joked he was going to a booty call.

Tomorrow is hopefully a full day of fun and entertainment. Can’t wait! Eek!

Luna Looking Up

Happy Birthday, baby girl! Another birthday where I don’t get to see your derp-derp eyes looking up at me in confusion and your spazzes.

Luna & Red Ball

Wishing you all the balls you want and sleeps on the couch. Hoping that you get spoiled rotten with treats today.

Bedtime Stories with JJ

January 14, 2020 by Mellie Dee Leave a Comment

Reading to JJ

Work was a cluster****. I’ll probably get fired for speaking out but I felt it was necessary. Therefore, I ended up at Mallory’s late by one and a half hours. She fed me stuffed salmon and green beans that hit the spot!

John came home late too so I had the pleasure spending bath time with JJ. Then he wanted me to read him a few bedtime books before John got home. He was such a happy kid today and it was a breath of fresh air after the last meeting I have.

Three more days of work. I can do this. The weekend better be a great one!

2020 New Year Resolutions

December 31, 2019 by Mellie Dee Leave a Comment

2019 Best Nine on Instagram

My top nine filled with family, friends, and travels. What more could I ask for?

I’m currently hanging out with Mallory, John, and Trey to ring in the new year. Recap to come. Until then …

Recap of 2019 New Year Resolutions

  • Refocus on health and fitness – I failed on this. Mentally, I’m healthier but physically, I could do better. I did lose weight but it’s never enough. Since BBBS gave us free YMCA and work gives us $250 a year on fitness, I’ll hopefully be putting it to use this coming year.
  • Read, Read, Read! – my Goodreads stats are below. I made a vow to read twelve books by the end of the year. I freaked out when June came around and I had only finished three. I was so behind but by the end of August, I completed my twelve and it’s been a bit stagnant since.
2019 Goodreads Recap
  • Travel somewhere new – Pennsylvania (x2), New Jersey, Marble Falls, Ohio, Montgomery, Arizona, Midland, Denver
  • Save money for a new place – I’m still working on this though I will say I am doing great but the fear of having to pay for so much is a little frightening to me.

My 2020 New Year Resolutions

  • Focus on health and fitness
  • Read my usual 12 books a year
  • Travel more
  • Save money for a new place
  • Continue building strong friendships

The same goals that have made me mentally happier this year so I will continue them, plus one.
