My Dream Job

January 17, 2017 by Mellie Dee Leave a Comment

Best way to gain followers is by following and commenting others.

Wise words that I use to follow back when I was in college and had time to do so. Now that I’m working full time and juggling life, it’s harder.

I constantly tell my boyfriend he needs to make enough so that I could work from home, be a full time blogger and YouTuber with a side job until I make it big. Then we can both “work from home” and travel everywhere.

A dream that would make my world if it did become a reality but I think about what it would be like if it became a job and it was the only source of income. Would I love it still and continue or start to dislike it because it’s so routine?

Plus, it’s so hard when your family is not down to be photographed or recorded. Else, it’ll be so much easier! Come on family, support my dreams!

Stuffed Bell Pepper & Banana Chocolates | Scruffy

Speaking of the boyfriend, he brought me my lunch today, heated it up, and hand delivered it to me with utensils! And he added dessert on the side! Little banana chocolates I gave him from Hong Kong, wrapped up in a paper towel. So sweet. #littlethings

The Most Perfect Date

Perfect Date: Stargazing in the Truck Bed

This is still on my bucket list
via

When I was a little girl, I’d dream about the perfect date being in an amusement park. Ride scary rides and hold his hand for dear life. Maybe puke a little. Stuff our faces with funnel cakes, corn dogs, and the such. Play games and win a stuffed animal. Continue with rides and end with the Ferris wheel while the stars shine brightly all around us.

As I grew older, I’d realize there wasn’t such a thing as a “perfect” date. Instead, an experience we both have never encountered before or something that challenges us mentally and physically would be the perfect date.

Rollercoaster Date

via

I was at Six Flags at the end of April with Scruffy and we only did a sliver of what I imagined it would be when I was little. Rides were ridden but he was the one that blacked out on the Superman. We split a funnel cake but we couldn’t even devour half of it. And we left early because a few hours was enough to make our inner child happy.

As we headed back to the hotel, it dawned on me that any experience we have together is a new experience because we experienced it as a couple for the first time. And that in itself is perfect enough.

It’s been awhile but, howdy. There are no complaints with life lately. I’ve been less busy this year (no wedding duties so far, though I do miss it), just a baby shower here, a baby shower there. I’ve been busy living life and when I have downtime to actually blog, I spend it cuddling with Rizzo. No regrets.

There are parts of my life that I am not ready to share with the world but I do know I want to jot it down to have for remembrance. I’ll have to wait and see how I go about those since I do want to keep it private for now – password protected posts? We’ll see.

So with that, I leave you with a song I’m in love with at the moment.

I’ll be the light in the night, to guide you home
I’ll be the glass around your heart and make sure it’s full

I’ll be the one to be strong, when you just can’t
I’ll be the anchor for your soul, if you just give me a chance

Please don’t break me, shake me, or cut me down
I can’t change, recreate, put a safe on this
love that’s fallen to the ground

Cause if you run, you know you’ll never know
If you wait, you’ll never know what it takes

M.D.

March 30, 2016 by Mellie Dee Leave a Comment

After eight years, I finally got my apology and I don’t quite know what to do with it. All I do know is that he wants to be back in my life but I don’t know if I can. He wanted to meet up when he was passing by my city last month and I agreed because I could hear from his words he was hoping something was still there. And I wanted to meet in a very public place so that I can finally get that closure. And I could hear, from his voice the disappointment, like the disappointment I heard years ago when something didn’t go his way. Because we did not meet up. Because the universe worked against us in meeting up.

And that in itself was enough for me to realize, hearing his voice sans face was closure enough.

But I take all that I’ve learned from him, and though I’m trembling, afraid the past will repeat. If we meet again, I will be okay and maybe one day he’ll be just a distant friend that you say “hi” to once in a blue moon. But that will be enough for me to see if he’s changed who he use to be.
