PS4, Dentists, and a Fuller House

PlayStation 4 Uncharted

I finally unboxed my PS4 and downloaded everything last night. Afterward I spent almost three hours playing Helldivers with BIL. When he had to go to bed I played Uncharted for a short while. I forgot how bad I suck at video games but hopefully practice makes perfect. Or makes me wanna shoot myself in the face and never play again. Everyone tells me it’s an easy game but hey, when you’re new at this, everything is hard. I’ll get there though. I like that I can die and come back to life with no consequences on this game. haha

Scary Dentist Meme | The Meta Picture

via

After what felt like forever to beat two levels, I switched to Grey’s Anatomy until four in the morning. I ended up only sleeping an hour before I had to wake up for my dentist appointment where I found out I had my first cavity. 🙁 But I already knew that would happen. I still have all of my wisdom teeth and that area is always hard to clean. Luckily only one cavity. I’ve already set an appointment to get them extracted. First major surgery for me. Eeeps.

Can we just talk about how scary going to the dentist is? Thankfully there was no scary clown tooth hanging in the corner at my dentist’s office. And I was glad I had the first appointment because the dentist had more time with me. Or maybe this office is different. It was my first time there so I don’t know. All the other places I’ve ever been always made me feel uncomfortable and I never went back. Hopefully this means I’ve found my dentist! Plus after our talks, we realized we both suck at PS4, he has a twin brother, and he knew people I knew back in high school even though we went to different high schools and he’s like four years older than me.

Fuller House Premiere Postervia

If you’re a 90’s kid, you most likely grew up on Full House and today Fuller House premiered. You don’t know how excited I was for this. I love being able to see how the cast grew up and changed. And the fact that they brought the real Nicky and Alex back was something I never would of expected. I’m sad Michelle is missing because of their prior engagements and when they asked the other Olsen sister, she declined. Ugh … but we make do, right?

I am making it a thing to watch it with Mum and June. More with Mum because when we were younger, after watching Full House and Family Matters, we’d go outside and walk or ride our bikes before eating dinner. It was a routine which gave me a lot of memories so I wanted to share this with her.

So far, we’ve watched four episodes and to hear them bring up the past, and for them to joke about things that are actually real life makes me smile. I don’t think younger kids would love it as much as the ones that grew up on this because it’s more clean than other shows that are out now.

Okay, not it makes me want to go and buy the complete series of Full House. Catch y’all later!

PlayStation 4 Noob

February 25, 2016 by Mellie Dee Leave a Comment

Thursday is finally here. This week was definitely too long! So long that, I went and drank a few last night and realized I’ve become a lightweight. Maybe it has to do with the fact I’ve lost weight and now cannot contain as much alcohol as I use to or maybe it’s because I don’t drink like I did when I was with this one guy. It’s a whole new thing for me and I’m not use to it. I can’t hang. Waahhhhh.

PS4 Uncharted Bundle

via

Yesterday, I went and picked up my PS4 and could hear my money emptying my account. Like the sound you hear on video games. Mum says I already have too many hobbies so I shouldn’t add another one but .. I do what I want! Just kidding. Hopefully buying one pays off in the end and it doesn’t just sit there and collect dust.

The one and only reason I decided to buy a PlayStation is to spend time with my family (and friends that don’t mind a super duper beginner doofus) and decided on the Uncharted bundle for when they aren’t available. haha Justifiable, right?

Debating now if I should continue using my PSN account or create a new one. I’m not a big fan of the one I am currently using but I’m also not sure what I want the new one to be since you cannot change once you have it. Dang it, Sony, change that policy already because people are willing to pay a few bucks to do so!

John made a joke but I’m 95% sure he was being serious.

You bought a new car AND a PlayStation BEFORE you get laid off?!

Because you know … oil companies aren’t doing so swell at the moment so we joke around and ask each other if we’ve been laid off yet at least once a week. And truthfully, he’s right. I shouldn’t be throwing down dolla dolla bills at this time. But I’m a cautious person and never do anything like this and thought … eff it. Because if I didn’t, I’ll never do anything.

So tonight, it’ll be the unboxing of my new toy … after I take care of more insurance stuff.

Thankful Thursday

Gaming & Blogging

Thankful for my family and video games. Being able to play video games with Sissy, BIL, and my cousins has brought us a bit closer. I’ve been contemplating getting a PS4 to join the boys when I am home. But then I could also just drive out to BIL and play with him physically and link up there. I don’t know. Still up in the air. But I cherish these moments we get to share together even if it’s just “stupid” video games.

Danica - Mellie Dee

Thankful I was privileged to hold another life in my arms. Meet Danica. She’s exactly one week old yesterday. She looks like a doll and I kept getting asked if she was even real. She is so freaking light and she didn’t cry at all. She did yawn and stretch a few times and even opened her pretty little eyes, stared at me for a little bit, then went back to sleep.

Sissy sent me a link last night where adoption agency needs volunteers to help cuddle and nurture newborns awaiting adoption. I would totally be down for it if I didn’t work 9+ hours a day because who’s going to take care of the bundle of joy while I’m at work? Sigh … so adorable. Would be a good test run for people wanting one I guess. haha But I guess it’s a good thing I can’t volunteer because I’m still on that let-me-give-you-this-back mode.

2016 Valentine’s Weekend

February 16, 2016 by Mellie Dee Leave a Comment

Valentine weekend is just another weekend for me. Nothing special but everyone else sees it as a special weekend because love and shiet. Whatever that is …

But I guess it’s good people see it as special else, I wouldn’t have had such a plan filled weekend.

Liliana Valentine 2016

I received this package a week or so ago from Liliana for Valentine’s day. She is always so sweet. Even when has a valentine she remembers me and my lonesome. I was super excited to get a new pencil bag. I’ve been searching for one for my art supplies. Eeeeeps.

Sunrise

Friday was finally the day I got to see the sun rise again. Going to work before 6 am every day really sucks because I miss is. I went to the doctor for the check up on my sickness and there was good and bad news. I guess we’ll have to play it by ear and see how that goes.

Jolynn's Crawfish Restaurant Houston, Texas

Then June and I went and got crawfish at Jolynn’s Crawfish Restaurant. FINALLY. Happy me. The rest of the day I went and ran errands and then gave my blog a makeover. I felt pretty accomplished.

Dad Totaled Car 2016

Saturday morning Mum bursts into my door. Dad had gotten into a car accident, hit and run, and his car has a possibility of being totaled. So we haul ass to where he is and I talked to the cop and tow guy and figure everything out. On the drive home, I call the insurance company and was lucky to finish everything in time to head to my Valentine’s plans.

Apurva Valentine 2016

I met Apurva and she surprised me with a gift. So sweet and so cute!

Cloud 9 Foot Spa

She then drove us to our 80 minutes stone massage at Cloud 9 Spa. It’s my first stone massage and is now my favourite type of massage which is bad because they are expensive. (Thank goodness for Groupons!) For the first time, I had to tell the guy to ease up because he was killing me. But overall, he got my issues and now I feel much better.

Myth Kafe Houston, Texas

Afterward, we had reservations at Helen Greek Food and Wine but after circling around looking for parking, we gave up and ended up at Myth Kafe. Best stumble upon ever. And so close to Sissy’s that it can be my backup place if I ever end up out here wanting food.

We wanted dessert but didn’t want to travel too far. Valentine’s weekend is one of the worst times to go out. Bleugh. So we went to Tout Suite for desserts. I bought four heart macarons to take to Mallory’s.

Apurva and I actually had the whole day planned out to do things but she had to go home at a certain time to celebrate her brother’s birthday and it worked out to where I had other plans. She dropped me off at my car and I headed home to drop off my leftovers. Said hello to Rizzo because duh. Then headed over to Mallory’s.

Alamo Drafthouse Zoolander 2

Mallory, John, Trey, and I headed over to Alamo Drafthouse to watch Zoolander 2. It’s so stupid. SO FREAKING STUPID. That it was funny. And because of the good company, it was even funnier. Mallory and I ordered a pitcher of sangria and she said it wasn’t a lot. And well, it was a lot. I think I’m a lightweight now. Thankful Trey helped us drink some.

Puzzle Mallory Trey

After the movie, I was going to head home, but the boys were going to cook dinner and Mallory asked me to stay. I declined dinner because I was still full from Myth Kafe. While the boys were cooking, Mallory and I talked and worked on the puzzle. John cooked his foods and ate in front of the telly. Mallory ate at the table, and Trey was still cooking his foods. He would come over every few minutes to help us with the puzzle and even ate and did the puzzle with us at the same time. Lots of laughter, weird noises, and singing to music and the puzzle was complete. We headed to the living room and all sat with John to watch telly then I headed home.

Naven Necklace

My favourite gift arrived in the mail. Necklace with my uncle’s initial and emerald jewel for the month of his birth. The star ring with his initial is too big for my fingers now and it always got caught in my clothing and I told this person before and that person went and got me this and it is now my favourite new necklace/piece of jewelry ever. Thanks, love!

Mellie Dee Valentine's Day

Sunday, we headed to Grandma’s for more Chinese New Year festivities. Got our red envelopes and had a few hours of chit chat with them. Picture of my selfie because I really liked my jewelry that day.

Thai Siam Restaurant Houston, Texas

Then we left and headed to Thai Siam for lunch. Their spice level is crazy on point. Real Thai way. And I found a picture of my look-a-like. She works for some blood donor clinic or something. haha

Fresh Boba Sugar Land Texas

After eating, we went and got boba at Fresh Boba and headed back home. I ran more errands then drove and met up with Michelle.

Deadpool Movie Sugar Land

We met up with Amanda to watch Deadpool. The second time around you catch even more of the jokes you missed. Who wants to watch it a third time with me? haha

Definitely, one of the best weekends I’ve had this year so far and I cannot wait for more.

Deadpool Movie

February 12, 2016 by Mellie Dee Leave a Comment

You know those crazy people that go and stand in line opening night and wait for a few hours before they’re seated so they can pick the “best seat” in the theater? Yeah, I’m not one of those people. I don’t really do those crazy opening nights type of deals. I usually wait until the theater is about to take it off the big screen or until it comes out on DVD or something because crowds.

But it was different this time around because Deadpool. I’ve been waiting for this movie since before they even talked about making a movie. And if you don’t know who Deadpool is, I don’t know if we can be friends anymore.

People ask me who he is. Apparently, he’s not very well known. Then they ask why he’s my favourite. Because I suck at video games but love playing, when games had him in it, I would choose him. He could heal on his own so I wouldn’t die as fast. And because of that I Googled him and found out he’s a freaking badass but a good person and super romantic at heart. But overall, I fell in love with his humor and sarcasm. And ever since then I was in love … with a comic book character.

Deadpool Movie Opening

Back in the beginning of January, there was a Groupon for Alamo Drafthouse and saw I could reserve my seats for Deadpool. I was surprised to find that though the movie doesn’t come out until midnight on the 12th, they were having some earlier showings on the 11th. Um … hello, duh. And since then, I’ve been patiently counting down the days.

People asked why I’d pick row 1 thinking it’s right at the front … to clear that up, it’s actually like the third from the back. Best seats ever, k? Cool.

Yesterday we finally made our way to the theater and I don’t think anyone would believe me if I told them I had chills from all the excitement that I couldn’t hold in especially because …

Deadpool Movie Opening Cosplay

… when we arrived, we saw there were people dressed up as Deadpool and my heart leaped. How lame is that?

Like “Hello, Melissa … Deadpool is only fictional.”

Like “Duh, I know.”

So if you wanna get with me, I guess all you have to do is dress up like Deadpool and talk and do silly, stupid, crazy things and I’ll probably fall madly in love with you.

At first I thought these people just really love Deadpool but soon realized, Alamo Drafthouse hired them to pass out masks where on the back of it was a promotion for chimichangas, because what else!

Deadpool Movie Opening Mellie Dee

Best. Movie. Ever.

But I’m biased. Obviously. And I’m certain if you don’t know anything about him and watched the movie, you’d agree. You’ll be biased like me.

I don’t think I’m ruining anything by telling you to stay until after the credits.

Gahhhh … I promise you’ll be patiently waiting for the next one just like me.
