Just a Little Update

March 28, 2012 by Mellie Dee Leave a Comment

If you recall, I started the Paleo way of living last Wednesday; I’ve been doing real well! Even going home, I was not tempted to eat what my family was eating. On the right path.

When I get a little down time, I’ll post the recipes of the food we make and eat. It’s delicious!

I have lost 13.2 pounds in the last six weeks. And I hope that continues. If so, I’ll reach my goal before my goal date!

I’ve also been doing some sports. Intramural champion at Dodgeball! Winking smile And I’ve also been playing some football and softball. Busy schedules!

Soon, I have dance starting up. I hope I don’t crash from all these events!

I’ll be M.I.A. more and more until after April 15th.

For The Kids Dance Marathon at UTSA will be happening on April 13th and 14th and I’ve been busy getting ready for that.

I have 732 and counting unread Google Reader posts! AH! But they will all get read once my time frees up! Promises!

If you’re anywhere near the San Antonio area, you should come and be a part of it. It’s a great experience! If you have any questions, just send me an email! Smile

Games Galore and Paleo

March 21, 2012 by Mellie Dee Leave a Comment

Such long days this month just as I knew it would be.

I cannot wait until April 14th is over. I will have a little more time for myself.

Right now, I feel I’m behind in school but I think I’ll be fine. Just a little more reading. A little more late nights … like right now and I will be fine. Positive thoughts only! Smile

Tonight I had four different games: Co-Rec Basketball, 4×4 Football, Co-Rec Dodgeball, Co-Rec Softball.

Sadly when I went to my car to drive to the games, I realized my battery was DEAD. Curses. Luckily I got a ride!

Needless to say, we lost basketball (close game!), the other team forfeited football, won two games of dodgeball (we are now in the championships!!), and the other team forfeited softball.

If it wasn’t for those forfeits, I think I would of died. I literally changed my shoes eight times since they overlapped so much. Mmm … joy.

Even though we didn’t have a softball game, we still got to hit some balls and pitch and throw. Fun! Smile

Tomorrow is Day 1 of Paelo! Patricia, Shayna, and I went grocery shopping after all my games!

Excited, I am.

Happy Hump Day Y’all! We’re almost there!

Thank You

March 6, 2012 by Mellie Dee 2 Comments

Thank you everyone that’s reached out and made sure I’m okay. I haven’t had a chance to reply due to everything going on. It’s mostly the stress, rude people, and unnecessary drama in my life.

Today a series of events made me angry and I never really truly get angry unless you push me over the top.

I vented everything just now to Jenny which I also never do because I feel venting about something won’t fix anything. And talking to her about it doesn’t do any good because she doesn’t know any of the people I talk about and therefore, she can’t help me fix what I’m angry at.

I’ll get over it by tomorrow most likely.

My only form of fitness lately is doing sports. Basketball games, basketball practices, football practices, soccer games … which actually totals up to almost 10 hours a week. I actually had a Basketball game yesterday, Co Rec, and we won 61-49! Victory. Very hard victory to get. Shin splints and pulled back muscle for me and I had to play. For the team right? I’m glad I did.

Anyway, I hope everyone’s doing better than I am. Few more days until Spring Break. I cannot wait.

Busy Weekend

I woke up late yesterday to the 5k Diploma Dash. I brushed my teeth and jumped on Jenny’s bed so she could take me. I made it in time!! And walked the 5k in less than an hour. I had shin splints so doing it in 56 minutes wasn’t bad to me. I beat other people younger than me who walked it in more than 1 hour. Next time I will run the 5k in October in Houston. At least that’s the plan.

I went to basketball practice but change of plans made practice into scrimmages. Leah wasn’t going to come to practice but she was watching some kid show (up above) with her nephew and her words exactly, “This is what made me come …” long pause “… to basketball practice.” Which made me laugh so loud. Love her.

Leah and I waited too long to get our scrimmage on so we left with Eric T. and Gerald. Said bye to Leah and the rest of us went and ate Pho on Bitters. It was delicious. Especially on such a windy day. We had lots of laughter and giggles. A lot of inside jokes and I got to know them better. It was fun and it was more amazing because Gerald drove instead of me. I hate driving!

I went home to relax then went to Flying Saucer with Amanda, Brent, and Jenny. What was suppose to be a date with Amanda and I became a double … in a way. I didn’t mind it though. The more the merrier.

I caught up with Amanda about stuff going on with her and stuff going on with me. Brent and Amanda gave me some advice which kind of made me feel better but at the same time, not so much.

Jenny got the Texas sample beers. YuM! I think I want to do that next time I go just so I can try everything.

We bumped into Travis at Flying Saucer earlier and he said he was going to come over whenever we got home. And so he did. We hung out and talked and looked at funny pictures online.

First time in my life I was so tired that I kept closing my eyes. So we called it a night.

Woke up early working on things then went to Football Practice for a few hours. I am so tired out.

Jenny and I just got back from Fish City Grill. Sad we couldn’t get crawfish but next time. Next time. Open-mouthed smile

Soccer Game in one hour and thirty minutes. Let’s go! Winking smile

Ballin’

February 7, 2012 by Mellie Dee 2 Comments

5 days straight of running around and playing sports and such. I am pooped. I am so sore. I love being sore and getting bruises and such but I’m happy sports and practices are over for the week … until Saturday comes along.

We lost by 6 points during the FSA Co-Rec Basketball Game tonight. Pretty good seeing how the team we played were all ballers. And by ballers I mean … they look like they straight came out of the NBA or WNBA.

Tomorrow’s my first test … in Guitar! bahaha We shall see how it goes because right now it sounds like a dying something since I’m so sore everywhere and tired hitting all the wrong notes. Whoops!

Long day tomorrow. But thankfully it’s hump day! I hope you all have a great one! Open-mouthed smile
