Fix Coffeebar | Houston, Texas

December 21, 2017 by Mellie Dee Leave a Comment

Fix Coffeebar | Houston, Texas

Currently sitting in Fix Coffeebar and contemplating about life. Parking was a nightmare. All the spots were reserved and Fix only had like two that were for to go orders. I had to park on the street which if you know me is scary for me. Every second I’m wondering if my car is going to be hit or stolen.

My last week of work was December 15th but since it was my Friday off I actually left at lunchtime December 14th. Angie took me and Tony to Saltgrass Steakhouse as a goodbye present for all the years we worked together and Delisha joined us.

Fix Coffeebar | Houston, Texas | Chai Latte & Croissant

Chai Latte | $4.50; Croissant | $3.00

Lattes all cost about the same nowadays. Good thing this one was a yummy one. But that croissant price kills me but I guess it is huge and was delicious. Yum. I probably won’t ever come back out here since it’s so far from home which might be a good thing with these prices.

I’ve since filed for unemployment and put in my application to buy healthcare. I feel so accomplished yet like I’ve taken fifty steps back. It’s been pretty nice sitting at home and not having to worry about the people I used to work with though I do get texts/calls from them freaking out or asking me questions.

Fix Coffeebar | Houston, Texas | Wooden Wall Mural

I was told this wall mural was cut and dipped in coffee and wine by the owner. How cool is that?! I love it. I’d like to have one of the world on my future wall where I can pin up postcards and such.

I’m told to just ignore them when they ask for help and let them fail so then the company would have to ask for my return but I know that everything will be okay. Everything is always okay. I’ll be seeing some of them in a few minutes for Happy Hour. We’ll see what’s up. I’m sure someone will be venting about work-life for a bit.

One Year (Dating) Anniversary

March 27, 2017 by Mellie Dee Leave a Comment

Hi Blogosphere …

Mellie Dee & Emmy

On March 11th, I finally met my niece. She was WAY tinier in person and for a baby super long and skinny. Sigh, jealous of her already. I didn’t want to leave. Is it time to retire yet?

Mellie Dee Eyebrow Tinted & Eye Mask

And I got my eyebrows tinted for the first time with Sissy. Ignore the eye mask going on, this is the only picture I could find that was the day after tinting. I loved not doing my eyebrows for a good two weeks.

Persian New Year | Nou Rouz

On March 18th, I celebrated Persian New Year (Nou Rouz) with Scruffy’s family where we ate and played games with some well wishes in between. This would be the third new year I celebrated. Crazy.

Rockets vs Pelicans | Basketball

On March 24th, Sissy, BIL, Scruffy, and I attended the Rockets vs Pelicans game, Scruffy’s first basketball game. It was a nail bitter throughout the whole game but in the end we won!

Guitar Center | Sugar Land, Texas | Scruffy

Today marks one year of dating this beau. So weird how time passes us by so fast. We celebrated this weekend by lounging around the house watching Lost, homemade taco salads, oven roasted asparagus, Disney Karaoke, dancing, and answering questions to see how well we knew each other. We ended it by having a meal at Bombay Grill for lunch the next day, our favourite restaurant at the moment. Happy One Year!

Last Week’s Shenanigans

March 8, 2017 by Mellie Dee Leave a Comment

Dinner for Scruffy | Ramen

03/03 – Dinner for Scruffy and the famsiciles. My own take on Ramen with generous sides. Soup base not pictured in fears it’ll mess up my picture. Ha!

10 Year High School Reunion | Saint Arnold's Brewery | Houston, Texas

03/04 – 10 year High School Reunion at Saint Arnold’s Brewery. Worth going to see how people turn out. I bumped into more people going to the restroom than being in the main room.

Surprise Crawfish Boil | Scruffy's

03/05 – Scruffy surprised me with a buttload of crawfish. I was such a happy camper. There were so many leftovers but I demolished it the next day … some with June. She said it was PERFECT and would like him to come make more for us one day soon.

Emmerie's Hand | Just Born

03/06 – Emmy is finally born. I can cross being an auntie off my list! I’ll be making an eight hour round trip just to see her face in person this weekend! Eeep! Can’t wait to hold her.

My Dream Job

January 17, 2017 by Mellie Dee Leave a Comment

Best way to gain followers is by following and commenting others.

Wise words that I use to follow back when I was in college and had time to do so. Now that I’m working full time and juggling life, it’s harder.

I constantly tell my boyfriend he needs to make enough so that I could work from home, be a full time blogger and YouTuber with a side job until I make it big. Then we can both “work from home” and travel everywhere.

A dream that would make my world if it did become a reality but I think about what it would be like if it became a job and it was the only source of income. Would I love it still and continue or start to dislike it because it’s so routine?

Plus, it’s so hard when your family is not down to be photographed or recorded. Else, it’ll be so much easier! Come on family, support my dreams!

Stuffed Bell Pepper & Banana Chocolates | Scruffy

Speaking of the boyfriend, he brought me my lunch today, heated it up, and hand delivered it to me with utensils! And he added dessert on the side! Little banana chocolates I gave him from Hong Kong, wrapped up in a paper towel. So sweet. #littlethings
