Things I’m Loving | Kindle Paperwhite

Kindle Paperwhite Sale

The week before Christmas, as I was perusing the internet, I noticed the Kindle Paperwhite was on sale on Amazon.

I mentioned it to my boyfriend because I couldn’t decide if I should get it, adding that it’s good for the eyes for hours of reading and can hold many books.

His short response was that I shouldn’t get it. His reasoning was because I already own an iPad with the Kindle app which was basically the same thing and because I sporadically like to buy physical books.

Though my heart kept going back to it, his voice kept running through my head.

On Christmas morning, as I waited for him to get ready, I decided that I did in fact want it. But when I signed on to Amazon, I discovered the sale was over. I was heartbroken and figured it was meant to be.

I trudged down the stairs to greet his family a Merry Christmas and we all had breakfast. When we started to open presents, I was so surprised I almost cried. That devil played me!

Kindle Paperwhite

If you couldn’t guess it from the title on this post – I now own my own Kindle Paperwhite!

Kindle Paperwhite Fintie Composition Book Cover

I’ve since bought the Fintie Composition Book cover, downloaded a bajillion books, and dusted off my public library card so I can use their free e-book rentals!

Best present I’ve received this Christmas – just in time for my Hong Kong trip! Thanks, Scruffy!

2017 New Year Resolutions

December 31, 2016 by Mellie Dee Leave a Comment

Recap of 2016 New Year Resolutions

  • Continue weight loss – or more specifically toning
    • I totally failed this. I gained all the weight I lost from the previous year thanks to the boyfriend life.
  • Stay in touch and spend more time with family and friends
    • I did way better at staying in touch with family members (thanks to fantasy football) but friends wise, I would say I did way less spending time with them since the ones I usually see either moved away or had a baby.
  • Meet new people
    • Thanks to the boy toy’s friends and family.
    • Read way more than I did last year which is a plus but not as much as I wished I did.
  • Never stop learning
    • I’ve learned so much this year about myself. Some that surprised me and helped me grow a lot.
  • Travel to somewhere I’ve never been
    • Seattle, Vancouver, and Colorado. I’ll say I was super successful in this resolution.
  • Unplug more and just enjoy life
    • I sure did. I was blogging so much in the beginning and started to do it less when I started dating. I also don’t check Facebook as much as I use to which is a plus.

My 2017 New Year Resolutions

  • Focus more on health and fitness
  • Travel somewhere new
  • Blog at least once a week

They are pretty much the same resolutions I have every year but they’re good ones to keep.

Be safe out there! Happy 2017, y’all!

Pokemon Go and Red Eggs

Luna Sitting on Mellie Dee

Luna loves sitting on me.

I went over to Scruffy’s after work, Friday, empty-handed. I was supposed to pick up Los Cucos for him, but issues with the restaurant occurred and so we ended up eating lunch at Buffalo Wild Wings instead.

Wine and Cheese Plate | Sammy

He plated this fancy snack a few hours later for us to enjoy, all pretty so I could put it on the blog. Sweetheart alert. It was the first time I’ve ever tried a green olive and I surprisingly liked them. I have come to realize, I only hate black olives.

Bonchon | Katy, Texas | Salmon Bomb

Saturday, Mum, June, Brother, and SIL went to Bonchon for lunch. They all loved it especially the fries. We finally got the salmon bomb thing and it didn’t disappoint.

Pokemon Go GPS Error

We got our aunt to drive us around at La Centerra for some Berripop and Pokemon action. Does anyone else get that annoying GPS error? It bounces right back though … not to mention, all those little Rattatas. Ugh.

Pokemon Go Event Petsmart

Speaking of which, Scruffy saw this at Petsmart the other day. You betcha he got his $10 gift card.

Jasmine's Red Egg Party

Jasmine turned one-month-old Friday, so there was a red egg celebration Saturday. A Chinese tradition. Another excuse for a reunion. Always a crazy, loud, time. I loved holding her. Sigh …

Crab Boil

Sunday, we all had brunch before the siblings and significant others left. Later that night was crab boil. Literally just boiling a crab. I’m not a big fan of crab and all that work but it was nice eating together.

Rizzo Mellie Dee Hello

Rizzo and I have been spending a little more time together this weekend since I haven’t been going out as much. We even take long walks after dinner. I’m gonna miss him. No Riz for almost one week seems like torture.

It’s been a long but eventful weekend … filled with Pokemons. haha What has the world come to?

Things I’m Loving | Kit Kat Big Kat

Kit Kat Big Kat

I got this wonderful surprise at my desk after a long meeting yesterday morning. Mmm …

If you put a Kit Kat in front of my face, there is only a 50% chance I will accept, but if it’s a Kit Kat Big Kat (or a dark chocolate Kit Kat), there is a 100% chance I’ll grab it and hide so I could enjoy it in peace.

In peace, because I don’t want to share I always got made fun of with how I eat my Kit Kats. Kourtney demonstrates it perfectly in the video sent to me by one of my friends to make fun of me some more especially because I’m doing something a Kardashian does.

Kit Kat Crime

Unless it’s been in the freezer, only monsters would chomp down on a perfectly, wonderful Kit Kat bar like that.

A Kit Kat should be enjoyed by savouring it, layer by layer, and since I finally have alone time right now …

Happy Friday!

Disney Tsum Tsum

Disney Tsum Tsum

via

Have y’all seen these little creatures before? Or even heard of Disney Tsum Tsum?

Japanese Disney franchise created a mobile game where you stack up a plethora of these little rascals. I’ve seen them in a Hong Kong store but only as a stuffed animals.

It was until a couple of days ago, my co-worker was telling me how Disney made little shorts with them!

They have a bunch, so go check them out. I haven’t watched all of them but this one is my favourite so far. Racing on robotic vacuums. haha Genius!

Happy Friday, lovelies!
