[2018] 243/365: Rizzo and Kato Playing
Rizzo rarely plays so I was surprised he was holding a toy and trying to get Kato to play with.
He also does not play fetch after a long time so I was happy to see him continuously fetching.
Sissy, BIL, June, the pups and I all headed off to Dallas.
And was greeted with ribs and soup upon arrival.
Now time to shower and relax to be energized for Emmy time tomorrow!
[2018] 242/365: June’s Birthday Dinner
After work June went with me to pick up my car from the shop. Finally!! So far it’s good. Hopefully nothing happens when I go into work tomorrow.
Since it’s June’s birthday today and it was just us, we decided to order Thai Cottage to celebrate. I went and got her two slices of cheesecakes as well as her birthday cake and we’ve been having a girl’s night since.
It’s pretty nice to have this moment with her. It felt a little sad that I was the only one celebrating with her on her actual birthday but I guess it makes it that much more special.
Now to shower and relax.
Work was rough. Sleeping late killed me but I trudged on. I had a meeting during lunch and they provided pizza. I gladly skipped it for my homemade pesto pasta instead. Yum!
I came home and “cooked” dinner for Scruffy and June. “Cooking” because I oven backed the salmons, microwaved the Brussels and sweet potato.
*Don’t worry. June made sure to split that potato in half for later.
[2018] 239/365: Clue Board Game
We we’re fixing to play Clue but realized it’ll be silly since it’ll just be the two of us so, back to Diablo it is while my aloe mask sits til dry. I’m loving my relaxing after work days. Having Scruffy here makes it easier for me to do so.
I’ve been on a Caldo de Res kick. Delicious! I finished the whole entire thing and felt gross afterward. I thought I’d fall into a food coma but luckily, and not so luckily, I became super busy at work so that kept me going.

I’m not sure how many times I’ve made his shrimp boil the picture of the day but it always makes me super satisfied. Thanks for cooking and taking care of the pups!!
[2018] 234/365: Audiobooks on Speed
If you know me you know I love to listen to books when I am busy, i.e. driving and working.
I’ve always used Overdrive, borrowing books from the library, but they started moving towards Libby.
I just discovered that you can speed up the reading up to 2x faster than normal! I’m good at the 1.75x speed.
I downloaded Lauren Graham’s book this morning. Her book is over four and a half hour and I was able to finish it before then! I loved her book and was sad when I realized it was over.
Now I’m closer to my Goodreads goal for the year on finishing twelve books by the end of the year. Finishing Lauren’s book in record time brought me up to seven books so far! And I’m already a third of the way finished on the next book.
I am that excited to have found this feature that I had to write about it. I’m sure Overdrive had it too but I never had the chance to play with it to find out.
