Farewells

Mellie Dee and Thirty Inch Monitors

Not to sound vain but I really like this picture of myself because of my messy hair. It was so dark out but because I have two 30 inch monitors at work I felt like the sun was on me.

Morning Coffee with Paola

I was able to meet up with Paola for morning coffee and muffin. It was nice to catch up with her and talk about things like we used to. We tried getting dinner together before but we just got too busy. I’m glad I’m in close proximity with her now.

Mardi Gras King Cake

The lady I’ve been learning from had her last day today and my boss was nice enough to get her a king cake since she’s from Louisiana. I like how the baby isn’t baked in anymore because it’s a chocking hazard.

BB Cafe

We went to BB Cafe to celebrate and they ordered a couple of appetizers. The boudin balls were the best!

BB Cafe Shrimp Boil

I got the shrimp boil with mushrooms and potatoes. I could eat those mushrooms forever! It’s not the best boil but good enough to satisfy me until crawfish season. Eeep!

although it’s your last day today we’ve already decided that she’s going to come and help me with everything else that she hasn’t taught me. I’m a little overwhelmed and I am so tired but I keep trucking on. I know everything will be okay in the end.

I was so glad Liliana was able to pick up my call and hear me vent. It was much needed and she always makes me feel better. I cannot wait to see her in April! Thanks for agreeing to be my plus one!

Meeting Apurva’s Fiance

January 14, 2019 by Mellie Dee Leave a Comment

Google Duo with Noah

Work went by pretty fast. I was able to get my badge and everything. I had plans to meet up with Apurva and her fiance, Ram. Sadly they were stuck in traffic and would be an hour late. Luckily Noah was available to talk to me during that time.

Torchy's Tacos with Apurva and Ram

Soon enough I was introduced to Ram and sitting across from Apurva drinking margaritas at El Tiempo then tacos at Torchy’s. We were too full to make it to dessert at Black Walnut Cafe. Ram is such a patient guy and a great listener. I apologize for talking his ear off. I only wished I wasn’t in the mindset I was in and was thankful for all the advice.

It was ten by the time we called it a night. It was a long day with lots of driving but it was worth it to see Apurva and meet Ram. I cannot wait for their wedding come April!

Me and Kieran’s Farewell Happy Hour

January 10, 2019 by Mellie Dee Leave a Comment

Breaking Bao Food Truck

We had food trucks at work today! I was told we get to every Tuesday and Thursday which is pretty cool.

Breaking Bao Food Truck | Pork and Fried Chicken Bao

I got the combo of two baos and fries. I got the fried chicken and the pork belly. Both equally delicious.

Kieran and Melissa Farewell Party

I left work a little early and called an Uber for a ride to El Big Bad. Kieran was already there and soon enough everyone started flowing in. I was glad Priscilla was able to make it.

Frank's Pizza

After people started leaving Kieran, his girlfriend, some guy from work, Salim, Priscilla and I went next door to Frank’s for pizza. It was nice being a smaller crowd so we could catch up. Soon enough it was time to go home and Salim was nice enough to offer me a ride back to my sister’s so I didn’t have to be in some creepy guys car. We had to walk back to his car though but I didn’t mind as that was probably the last time I was going to walk through downtown like that.

It’s so early and I’m so tired I’m calling it a night. Tomorrow is going to be a long day.

The Great British Bake Off … Kinda

January 6, 2019 by Mellie Dee Leave a Comment

I skipped a day of blogging and I don’t feel bad about it. I will say doing so made me a little less willing to today as well. I’ve noticed if I do something consecutively I will continue it and be motivated to do it. Maybe that’s what I have to do with my workouts. bahaha

Baking Pies

Yesterday, I decided to bake for my coworkers and went to the store this morning. A few hours later I created a key lime pie, chocolate pie, and six cups of homemade whipped cream. I’m not 100% sure how the whipped cream will hold since it’s my first time making stabilized whipped cream. Tomorrow morning I’ll find out how it goes. I feel like I’m on The Great British Bake Off.

An Avacado … Thanks

January 2, 2019 by Mellie Dee Leave a Comment

Rizzo and an Avacado

I went into work even though I was looking a bit rough from sickness to find out the meeting was rescheduled to tomorrow. So what do I do? Run away home of course.

Upon leaving, Noah stopped me and gave me my belated Christmas present. A squishable stuffed avocado because of that one video that we bring up constantly. It is now my favourite bedmate. Rizzo agrees.
