I finally went back to work today. Still a cough but much less. It felt a bit weird being back after being out for so long but it also felt kind of right. I am glad I worked from home though because there was definitely less to do when I got back!

Upon arriving to work Delisha messaged me to meet her halfway to pick up my birthday present from her. She told me she was making cornbread dressing so I thought she was just going to give me a little bit in a tupperware and was surprised when she gifted me the entire pan! I am full and happy!

Maria handed me a tiny card and I found a $50 Starbucks gift card for putting part of the presentation together and presenting at the townhall. I wished it was a gift card for the cafe because bacon but work Starbucks is better than nothing.

Erin surprised me with a present after lunch. It was all wrapped with a nice bow. I’ve always wanted one of these though I’m never sure if it actually works or not. I am keeping it at work so others can enjoy it as well. This one is by far one of the cuter ones I’ve seen and I like the tiny size.

London sent me a screenshot of this. I doubt they’ll rewrite and reshoot season 8 of Game of Thrones but I cannot help but laugh and also feel sad that this is happening.

After work, Sissy came to drop off the pups and I went to get a manicure with her since she wanted to get her nails done.

Now to enjoy episode 3 of Westworld.

Started off the day with an avocado and oozy egg croissant a la me. I made Grandma a scrambled egg bagel sandwich which she thoroughly enjoyed.

I worked for a little over five hours before calling it a day.

Sissy recommended Aurea Salon so I went and checked it out. I was surprised how great their neck massage was while shampooing. Other than the bangs being a little short everything overall went well.

I stopped by Nothing Bundt Cake and picked up my free birthday bundt and was surprised when she didn’t ask for my id to confirm.

I had a $15 off coupon to Loft and decided to make a last minute decision to stop by. I was lucky to find two discounted items that I’m excited to wear. I can’t help to think how freaking adorable their spring bags are!

I stopped by World Market, stocked up on some presents then went and got my pedicure from Serenity Nails.

I came home to a lovely Tiff’s Treats surprise. I was a bit confused since no one really had our address but was relived and quite surprised to see if was from Jenny. So many cookies! This girl be cray. Wishing she was with me to enjoy them though!

Timothy texted and asked if I wanted crawfish for dinner and asked my family too. It ended up being me, him, John, and Dad. Freaking delicious and perfect. I can never say no to free crawfish!

We went home and cut the free bundt cake just so I can make a wish.

I noticed a package by the door and found that Lily had shipped me an I love and miss you Sherpa throw. I cannot wait to use it!

Thanks to everyone this weekend and today, for all the surprises and love, for all the texts, phone calls, and DMs. They are all appreciated.

I worked a few hours from home and took the rest of the day off. Then headed to Chick-fil-A drive thru. From last night’s mentoring session I craved their nuggets and fries so much I went out and got some.

I had to text the bride today that I couldn’t make it since I’m still sick as eff and didn’t think I should go infect everyone. I’m sad but it was the best call since my cough is off the hook right now. I bet she was gorgeous!

Brudda, SIL, and Emmy weren’t going to come down due to the floods but since it didn’t rain as much in the morning they did a surprised to my parents.

It’s been a while since we last saw her and she’s already grown so much! She can also do so much and say so many words. So precious!

SIL really wanted crawfish so she ventured out to Crawfish Cafe and brought back crawfish and shrimp. Yum! This place has been on my list for years and I’m glad I finally got to try it.

They are really in season right now and it looks super perfect. So freaking huge! Although I love that they use SO much garlic in their sauce, the one I usually go to is still my favourite.

I’m not sure if crawfish is good for me while I’m sick and coughing but they did say garlic is good for that so … it’s okay, right?

I decided to go into work, mostly because we were having team building at Bowl & Barrel but also because I wasn’t feeling as bad.

This was just some of the foods we got to eat. Everything was delicious! The fries and sausage was my favourite but that’s a given.

Afterward Erin and I went to Sephora. With Erin’s new job, she needs to wear makeup so I was excited to show her the ropes. I mostly went to get my free birthday gift. We then joined Wacko, Christopher, Phil, and Vince at Yardhouse. It’s been forever hanging out with Wacko and we went through pictures from way back when. Too funny and surprised he doesn’t remember the pictures I took from his wedding week.

Erin, Christopher and I went to our Mentorship Volunteering. It’s our last one of spring semester and everyone got Chick-fil-A boxes. I was a bit bummed that we were given waffle potato chips instead of waffle fries. But free food, can’t complain. Can’t wait to see the kids again next semester!

We met Juhi at Ulta, showed Erin her way around makeup a bit more. We were supposed to meet the other volunteers for happy hour but due to the horrible rain and flood we decided to head home. It was a long and scary drive but I made it!

Currently debating if I should go to work tomorrow, work from home, or take the day off. Decisions, decisions.

Yesterday, I finally decided to take a sick day. A day where I relaxed and do absolutely nothing. I received a text some lady was going crazy because I was out so I ended up working for a little more than half a day before calling it quits. I did go in today but I’ll probably stay home tomorrow. I hate doing it but it but I need a break. I’m certain that’s why I’m sick.

I got a coupon for a free large one topping pizza with any $5 game purchase. I was able to convince Mallory to bring JJ. Well not much convincing was needed. Their pizza is amazing. I’m glad she didn’t care I was sick either.

We joked that Chuck E Cheese was celebrating my birthday since they were singing happy birthday to some kid. JJ is getting bolder as he’s not as scared as he used to be of the creepy mouse.

Mallory handed me my early birthday present upon leaving the place. My first Yeti! I cannot wait to use it at my new place! My favourite line in her card was “now you’re old with me”.
