Full Day of Emmy

This morning I finally got to see Emmy! We played a little bit and she headed to her gym class. After she was done we all headed to IHOP then Zero Degrees for drinks. Matcha Milk Tea for the win!

[2018] 244/365: Emmy and Rizzo Asleep

We headed back to the house thinking Emmy would fall in a long enough nap. Instead she woke up after thirty minutes or so and was wild for hours. Sissy and I had to pretend sleep for her to fall asleep and soon enough I was able to capture this cute picture.

We stopped by Joanna’s to say hi to her, the kids, and Katie before heading to dinner at Yoon Korean BBQ. We weren’t thinking of doing all you can eat but individual dishes were pretty much almost the same price. Though the food is good, the service is horrible and we believe it’s because the top was already added since we had five people. So lame.

Brudda took Emmy home and SIL, Jenny, June and I headed to Missha, a Korean beauty store for some masks, mostly gifts for others in the future but I’m excited to try them on.

Right next door is Tom n Toms Coffee where us four ladies each got a drink and headed to the second floor to chill and relax and talk. It is pretty nice to have this moment since it’s been awhile since I hung out with SIL and Jenny.

We are finally headed home where I can shower and cuddle with Rizzo until we fall asleep.

2018 Houston Restaurant Week at Tobiuo Sushi & Bar

Another Houston Restaurant Week for the books this year! Was it worth the $35 for four courses? Probably not.

Mallory and JJ came along for the ride with me and Scruffy. I haven’t seen these two for a long while so it was long overdue. This boy has grown up so fast!

We ordered two rounds of sake bombs, traditional between Mallory and I. I haven’t drank that much in such a long time I got tipsy.

Our first course was pretty bleugh overall. I believe the coconut shrimp was the best out of everything flavourwise.

Our second course blew me away! I was surprised to find that I had nine pieces of sashimi instead of six as stated on the menu. Everything was pretty good overall for this course.

Scruffy and I got the same for our third course. The ribeye was very flavourful and tender. Probably one of the best I’ve had in a while. Mallory’s salmon was pretty good too. I especially loved the crispy skin.

Four our fourth and final course, we were deeply disappointed. The waiter said the watermelon dessert was his favourite but it was horrible. Think of a watermelon soaked in lemon-citris juice. The summer shaved ice was a big giant fail. JJ had fun eating the fruit out of it though. The winner was the Lychee Ice Cream with Macarons.

[2018] 241/365: Dinner with Some Favourites

It’s usually just Mallory, JJ and I at dinner or over at her house so I was very estatic that Scruffy was around to join us. With him and Mallory chatting up a storm I was able to chopstick feed JJ and focus on him. He is adorable and makes me wish my niece was closer to us so I could do the same with her.

After dinner we all stopped by Sephora before heading home. I’m so pooped. I cannot wait to jump into bed. Good night!

Poblano’s Breakfast Is The Worst

Poblano’s has the worse breakfast I’ve ever had. The potatoes were not cooked, the eggs were bleugh, and don’t get me started on the bacon. They were crisped to the point where it had a burnt taste. I was severely disappointed.

[2018] 240/365: Korean BBQ

Another picture of Korean BBQ. Scruffy is obssesed and he believes it might just be his number one go to meal.

We’ve downsized the amount of food from last time and were surprised that we were all satisfied with lesser leftovers.

I’ve been craving sweets the last couple of days which is out of the norm for me. I’ve been holding back but I just might order something to satisfy my sweet tooth.

Sons of Anarchy Board Game

Sissy and BIL came over to celebrate June’s birthday early. We decided on Mona since June was up for some Italian food.

This place is like Chipotle, Italian style. You can make your own. I got the balonga sauce with gluten free spaghetti and a giant meatball with some farm fresh ingredients. Scruffy got chicken Alfredo fettuccine with some farm fresh ingredients. I would come back here again if I wanted something fast and fairly cheap. But their alfredo sauce was not that great. It was very watery and we think that it had to do with not draining the pasta well enough before mixing it.

We all headed back home and played a round of Sons of Anarchy Board Game. I’m not a big fan of killing each other type games but this one wasn’t so bad …. Maybe because I won!

Laundry in a meal prep later I was on my way to Scruffy’s house for dinner with his family. Delicious kebabs and chicken.

[2108] 238/365: Spontaneous Ice Cream

We headed home after dinner and we are currently at Andrew’s house for a quick pit stop. I grabbed a drumstick ice cream on the way for a treat.

I’m excited to shower and sleep soon. It’s been a super long day.

Diablo Makes A Comeback

Lunch at The Pho Shack in Katy with June and Scruffy. This one does not compare to the original location. Soup though good wasn’t as great as the original. The eggrolls though filled with a lot didn’t have much flavour. The bean sprouts plate looked sad for two which let’s be real, looks like one serving. They’re cheaping out. Pho Saigon is still my go to. I’ll give it a month or so before coming back but they still have a lot to learn.

We went to Fiesta afterward so that I could buy a aloe vera stalkwe stopped my Zero Degrees for some drinks. I got the coffee horchata which Scruffy liked and the matcha milk tea, my favourite. I’m not too sure what June got but she said it was delicious as well. We agreed everything was overly sweet and if we ever came back we need to let them know to add less sugar.

[2018] 237/365: Diablo Making a Comeback

We watched A Wrinkle In Time, played Diablo, and watched Up In The Air. It’s been a very cool Saturday which is exactly what I needed.

Now to shower and do my fresh aloe mask. Can I have my friends come and live near me so I can have facial nights and watch telly and sleepover?
