2021 | Week 81 of Quarantine

October 3, 2021 by Mellie Dee Leave a Comment

2021 | Week 81 of Quarantine | District 7 | Houston, Texas | Frankenstein & Mellie Dee

Met up with Frankenstein at District 7 after his labs and my training. Old fashioned, mimosa flight, east and gulf oysters, osso bucco, and zucchini chips. Time with him is just a whole lot of discussions about such random things. P.S. the mimosa flight wasn’t as I expected but that old fashioned was bomb.

2021 | Week 81 of Quarantine | Tandoori Grill | Katy, Texas | Buffet with Jenny, Bridal, SIL | Tea Top | Ethan

Saturday, Bridal, SIL, Ethan, Emmy and Jenny came down. We were able to spend the whole Saturday together. We started at doing a late lunch at Tandoori Grill. They have a lunch buffet on weekends and for $14 a person, I think it’s pretty worth it.

We then walked around Best Buy and Target. We then made our way to Starbucks to get their friend who works down the street some coffee. Sadly they were already off work. So we gave them to the receptionists and headed to Tea Top.

The rest of the night was used to plan out the bachelorette party and looking at outfits.

2021 | Week 81 of Quarantine | Nails, Spaghetti Squash and Chicken Pesto, Ethan

Today they all left to go to a baby shower. Ethan is staying with us for a few weeks before I go to the bachelorette.

I did my nails twice since works been a little boring. And I was able to meal prep last week, spaghetti squash, sauteed vegetables, and chicken pesto for dinner practically every night. So good.

Hoping for a chill week. Fingers crossed.

2021 | Week 80 of Quarantine | Beagle Puzzle, Nails, Sushi Block Legos

Work week was pretty easy since our company got some crazy news. I was able to do my nails, finish the Beagle puzzle and built the sushi block Lego that Frankenstein and I won from Kura.

2021 | Week 80 of Quarantine | Poor Richard's Cafe | Frankenstein | Lomonte's Italian Restaurant | Houston, Texas

Frankenstein was off Thursday so we were able to have a romantic date night at Lomonte’s. The weather was nice out so we sat on the deck listening to the live music performance and talked about so many different topics. We both got a chicken dish that came with a side of pasta. The food was pretty good and the ambience of the area reminded us of Austin.

2021 | Week 80 of Quarantine | Poor Richard's Cafe | Road trip To Dallas | Rosanna's Birthday, Ethan, Rizzo, Mellie Dee, June & Emmy | Bols Rice and Ramen

Friday after work, we drove to Dallas. Upon arriving, we celebrated Rosanna’s birthday, ate dinner from Bols Rice and Ramen and played with Emmy. I was pooped after.

2021 | Week 80 of Quarantine | Poor Richard's Cafe | Plano, Texas | Emmy & Mellie Dee Storytime

Saturday morning I took the parents, June and the kids to Poor Richard’s Cafe for breakfast. This is our first time and we all ended up liking it. The kids even ate a lot which was surprising … for Emmy.

I drove them all around to run some errands for Jenny’s Bridal Shower and then went back to the house where I read Emmy some stories before we all took a nap.

2021 | Week 80 of Quarantine | Jenny's Bridal Shower

We went and picked up the cake and headed to the clubhouse to set up for Jenny’s Bridal Shower. We took pictures, ate, and played some games. Oh and shots were had. Good times all around. And it was like a mini reunion. Next up, bachelorette!

2021 | Week 80 of Quarantine | BBQ Chicken and Happy Lemon

We got home and showered before SIL and I went to pick up dinner of BBQ Chicken and Happy Lemon. Korean fried chicken always hits the spot!

2021 | Week 80 of Quarantine | Bucees Keto Eggs, Stardew, Salmon Sushi Rice

We left for home super early. I am running on 2 hours of sleep today! Had breakfast of keto sausage egg and cheese from Bucees on the way. Then it was grocery shopping. After everything settled down, I got online and played some Stardew Valley with Sissy and BIL then made dinner of salmon sushi rice.

Back to work tomorrow but luckily it’s my Friday off. Last free weekend before Ethan comes back down again. What should I do? Sleep sounds nice.

2021 | Week 79 of Quarantine

2021 | Week 79 of Quarantine | Ethan & Rizzo

One of the days I was working, I looked down and saw Ethan chilling in Rizzo’s bed together. I was surprised Rizzo didn’t yell at him for it. It was actually pretty sweet. Rizzo even gave him kisses and Ethan as over the moon because he’s been trying to get Rizzo to do that the whole time he’s been here. He’s scared of Rizzo but also want him near him ALL the time. Even when Ethan is watching me puzzle.

2021 | Week 79 of Quarantine | Frankenstein | Gen Korean BBQ House | Houston, Texas | Inspiration 4 Launch

On Wednesday, Frankenstein and I met downtown at Gen Korean BBQ House for a dinner date. It was his first time and he loved it because it’s meat, duh. This is probably the most I’ve ever seen him eat. He probably went into a food coma after. We ordered a 32 carafe of Mango Soju but it looked and smelled like Pine sol. I wasn’t a fan of the flavour, he didn’t hate it, so he drank majority of it.

It was also the day of the Inspiration 4 launch so we watched part of that as well. It was pretty neat to see how the team came about, helping St. Jude’s Hospital. He also has not been annoyed with all my ignorance and questions. Our waiter told us a few tables down, another couple was watching the same thing.

2021 | Week 79 of Quarantine | Ethan & Jacob Play Date

Friday I took Ethan on his playdate to Mallory’s. He played with Jacob for a little bit but mostly he just did his own thing. We ordered habachi food, I got a kids meal for Ethan, and all of our stuff did not come with rice. SO weird. Luckily, we were reimbursed a few bucks to cover it and more.

2021 | Week 79 of Quarantine | Frankenstein & Mellie Dee | Kura & Houston Axe Throwing | Katy, Texas

Later that night, Frankenstein and I met up for dinner at Kura. We got a little toy for hitting our 15 plates and after recording a video, I made him stage a picture which he played along with but I’m sure he hated.

We then went on to Houston Axe Throwing. I was doing fairly well in the beginning but he started to find his momentum and of course, he beat me by a landslide. We payed a few dollars extra to do knife throwing at the end and same thing happened. I suck. I can’t save you. He was able to get some 6s for both tools. Ugh.

2021 | Week 79 of Quarantine | Macaroni Soup, Hot Pot, Beef Rice, Seafood Boil

Great foods for the week. Due to the hurricane, Mum stayed home and she made us macaroni soup, one of my favourites. We also had Vietnamese beef and rice, hot pot, and seafood boil. It’s been a good week for food. But it’s also time to get back to my workouts.

2021 | Week 79 of Quarantine | Stardew with Sissy & BIL } Purple Neon Nails

I did my nails during a meeting. I thought it’d be more neon but it came out well. I even got to play a game of Stardew Valley with Sissy and BIL.

2021 | Week 79 of Quarantine | Ethan & Brudda

Ethan looked at magazines and would point at all the food. Definitely our blood. I got him a baby shark with a little sound thing that replays the song over and over again. He is IN LOVE with it. Sadly, he went home today. I drove halfway to meet Brudda. Less than a week before I see him again though!

A week full of Ethan and Frankenstein this week and I don’t mind it at all.

2021 | Week 78 of Quarantine

2021 | Week 78 of Quarantine | Breakfast for Blood Donation, Sushihana, Stardew Valley

Labour Day was pretty swell except when I tried to donate, I was off by one on my iron and couldn’t donate. I had a killer breakfast though.

Sissy and BIL came over and we ordered Sushihana. They played with Ethan for a bit before he went down for his nap. Then we spent a few hours playing Stardew Valley. They’ve been playing for years and have asked me to join their game. This could be a single player game, kind of like Animal Crossing, but it’s not one I would ever play by myself.

2021 | Week 78 of Quarantine | Ethan, Mellie Dee, Rizzo

Having Ethan is fun but it’s also super draining. He needs more attention than Emmy at this age which is CRAZY to even think about. He’s had fun eating popcorn, watching Mickey Mouse, listening to me play guitar and sing to him. He doesn’t understand personal space and always lays on people jumping up and down. As for Rizzo, I’m sure he’s tired of the nonstop crying and constant slaps in his face from Ethan. Rizzo also doesn’t understand personal space.

2021 | Week 78 of Quarantine | Ethan, Jacob, Mellie Dee, JJ, Wine, Maika'i Hawaiian BBQ

Friday after work, I took Ethan to Mallory’s house for a playdate. He and Jacob get along SO well! And JJ was a sweetheart and played with him as well. We had wine and ordered dinner from Maika’i Hawaiian BBQ. We all loved the food from there, especially Ethan and Jacob. They are definitely the eaters of the kids.

2021 | Week 78 of Quarantine | Ethan, Jacob, Mellie Dee, JJ, Mallory, Ice Cream

We decided to walk to the clubhouse and get some ice creams. JJ pushed Ethan for me and I was able to get some cute pictures. (Exhibit A: Ethan’s hair)

The guy messed up and accidentally made an extra ice cream. Sugar overload. It’s safe to say Ethan had fun. He was so tired on the push back to the house and fell asleep with the bottle in his mouth.

2021 | Week 78 of Quarantine | Lao Sze Chuan | Katy, Texas

I had heard recently about a restaurant that opened that came from Chicago, Lao Sze Chuan. The food was good. Nothing special except that it’s less salty which we all loved. My favourite is the fried intestines. Even Ethan did well and sat and ate a lot!

The only complaint was the service. Understandable as there is a shortage everywhere but they could be a little more attentive.

2021 | Week 78 of Quarantine | Kittens and Golden Puzzles, Stardew Valley

I finished three puzzles this week which I didn’t even know until I put this post together. Almost done with the kitten and dog 10 pack from when we were kids and we never did.

Yesterday night I played Stardew Valley with Sissy and BIL for many hours before we called it a night.

2021 | Week 78 of Quarantine | Ethan & Emmy Video, Zoe's Kitchen Delivery

Ethan was able to get some video in with Emmy. It was sweet to hear Emmy say that he misses Ethan.

Sissy and BIL came over. We ordered food from Zoe’s Kitchen then it was playtime with Ethan and Stardew Valley with me. I’m starting to like the game a lot but still, not something I’d play by myself. I hate building things.

2021 | Week 78 of Quarantine | Rocky and SWEAT: High Intensity Program Complete

Today marks the completion of the 4 week SWEAT High Intensity program. Rizzo was by my side every day. Rocky liked being close by my yoga mat on days I had body weights. I don’t feel like much has changed but I do feel stronger. Off to schedule my next workouts. What should I do now?

2021 | Week 77 of Quarantine

2021 | Week 77 of Quarantine | Rizzo, June Birthday, Ethan

Monday, we celebrated June’s birthday again. Ethan loved singing happy birthday. I love how he tries to blow the candles out.

Rizzo was cute so … you’re welcome.

2021 | Week 77 of Quarantine | Ember & Greens | Houston, Texas | June

Tuesday, as part of June’s birthday present every year, I took her to a new restaurant, Ember & Greens. Perfect place for vegetarians! They had meat dishes too but we decided ordering a lot of different things to share was the best way to go. Our favourite was the vegetarian Stroganoff. They make it with different types of mushrooms and it paired well with the vegetarian flatbread! The sweet potato fries were also on point. I would definitely want to come back here again.

2021 | Week 77 of Quarantine | Rizzo Skateboard

June and I were so stuffed after that we walked around Five Below and bought random things. June got Ethan and skateboard. Rizzo had a not so fun time standing on it. At least he listened and waited for me to get a pic in before he jumped off.

2021 | Week 77 of Quarantine | Mallory | Mia's Table | Katy, Texas

Wednesday, I met up with Mallory at Mai’s Table. This place is actually pretty dang good. Their friend chicken is up there with Jollibee. And their sides are perfect. They even have a soft serve machine that you go and do yourself. I joked that we could just sit there and grab their ice cream and they probably won’t even know since you order at the counter.

P.S. I found it funny that our drinks matched Mallory’s top!

2021 | Week 77 of Quarantine | Ethan, Two Cats in Jeans Puzzle, Rizzo, Mellie Dee

Ethan’s been spending a lot of time with me. He even loves the cat game I actually downloaded for Artemis.

I’ve also been having a lot of cuddles with Rizzo too.

I finally finished the Two Kittens in Jeans. Sadly, another one with a missing piece. Every time the kids come a piece is missing. Three puzzles in counting. Sigh.

2021 | Week 77 of Quarantine | Ethan, Mellie Dee Snapchat Filters

Ethan spent Friday morning with me before I left for the day. He laid on my chest while we played with Snapchat filters. His favourite was the broccoli. Mine is the first picture of the collage. haha I wonder what his response will be when he grows up and sees these pictures.

2021 | Week 77 of Quarantine | Mallory & Beth Pedicures | Jamaeca | Thaicoon | Katy, Texas

Finally, it was time for me to leave the house to meet Mallory & Beth for our pedicures. We all order Vietnamese Coffee because it’s that good.

Afterward, I spent a couple hours at Mallory’s before meeting up with Jameaca at Thaicoon. It was our first meet up and I think it went really well. We had good foods and conversations that lasted for two hours.

Afterward, Joanna came over and I helped her make things for Jasmine’s classroom since Joanna signed up to be a room mum. It was a fun project making a giant Disney castle, Mickey and Minnie heads with their names written on it.

2021 | Week 77 of Quarantine | Ethan & Mellie Dee | Guitar

Saturday morning, I played guitar to Ethan. He loved it so much and when I stopped playing and singing he’d grunt with displeasure. Maybe he’ll be the musical kid.

2021 | Week 77 of Quarantine | Frankenstein | King's Bierhaus | League City, Texas

I headed over to Frankenstein’s and we grabbed lunch at King’s Bierhaus. After having it last week, I was excited to have it again! I was happy to hear that he enjoyed it as well though it didn’t sit too well with my stomach with all the carbs and sugar from the beer.

2021 | Week 77 of Quarantine | Frankenstein & Artemis | HEB Dinner, Vacation Friends Movie

We went to Pet Supplies Plus for some goodies then HEB to pick up dinner so that we could have a relaxing night doing nothing.

We literally went back to the house and took naps. Then it was a lot of puzzling for me while he worked on his 3D stuff. I put on Vacation Friends and although it isn’t his type of movie, he laughed at a lot of parts.

We ate our HEB dinners and watched Artemis sleep. We even put on The Chef Show which is pretty interesting before we drifted off to sleep.

2021 | Week 77 of Quarantine | Frankenstein | Eggcellence Cafe & Bakery | League City, Texas | Bay Area Farmers Market | Starbucks

I woke up and puzzled a bit more before Frankenstein woke up. We grabbed breakfast at Eggcellence Cafe. Their service was very slow but I was very surprised about their food. Chicken and Waffles, and Salmon Benedicts. All perfect.

We went to Target after since the Bay Areas Farmers Market wasn’t opened yet. They had a lot of stalls at this market. I was sad to see that they didn’t have too many vegetable stalls but I was able to snag some good hot sauce and cracklins.

Frankenstein wasn’t feeling well so after we got back I stayed for a little bit before heading home myself with a pumpkin spice latte in hand.

2021 | Week 77 of Quarantine | Ethan, Mellie Dee, Guitar, Steak

Upon getting home Ethan was thrown at me to watch. He didn’t finish his nap and instead cried until I picked up the guitar and sang to him. Then when I tried to nap, he kept sitting on my face and poking me. It’s a good thing he’s cute!

Since I plan to donate blood tomorrow, I made my steak. Best steak I’ve ever made in the air fryer. Getting better each time!!

It’s been a busy week but I’m thankful to be able to have it surrounded by such amazing people. Hopefully tomorrow will be a very laid back day … even with Ethan around.
