Massages and Lobsters

PYT Mini Turbo On-The-Go Dryer

Before Patricia left for work she got me settled for my shower stuff. When I mentioned needing a hairdryer she pulled out a PYT Mini Turbo On-The-Go Dryer for me to keep! A travel hairdryer!! I’ve been wanting one and was super excited. It’s matte and it’s gorgeous! I tested it out and it worked perfectly and with attachments! Thank you!!

Pepper the Pupper

When Patricia left for work, Daniel went and picked up breakfast items. When he got back, he let Pepper out and she was wild. She wouldn’t jump on the bed but wanted pets and loves.

Steak, Potato, and Eggs by Daniel

I was able to finish a novel I’ve been listening to and get work done while listening to some lovely classical music while Daniel cooked me and Liliana breakfast of steak, potatoes, and eggs. One of the best homemade American breakfasts I’ve ever had!

Spa D'Sante | Whirlpool, Massage and Facial

Afterward we went to Lowe’s to visit Ricardo and to pick up the house key and a kitchen faucet part. Then Lily and I went to Spa D’Sante got massages. We got a spa package so it was Whirlpool, then a deep tissue massage, and a mini facial. It was really relaxing except I felt weird in the Whirlpool. I’m too tall and I couldn’t be submerged the way I wanted. But this makes me realize that I probably won’t fit in any tubs in my future house so that’s a bummer.

Starbucks

Over two hours Lily and I made our way out and stopped by Starbucks for a pick me up. Mostly for Daniel since he was having caffeine withdrawals.

Smashin Crab | San Antonio, Texas | Lobster, Crawfish and Shrimp

We put on our makeup and headed to Smashin’ Crab with Daniel and Patricia where we met up with Ana and Jakob. I’ve been waiting for this all year. One pound of crawfish, one pound shrimp, potatoes and a giant lobster. I’ve never had the lobster in a boil before and it was perfect. The insides were so buttery. I am not a big fan of lobster but if it’s made this way, I sure am!

The Well | San Antonio, Texas

We bid farewell to Jakob and Ana and are currently waiting at The Well waiting for Marisol. I haven’t seen her in years since every time I come she runs away to Mexico. I assume it’s because Liliana is here this time so she decided to stay. All jokes …

Kuma | San Antonio, Texas | Ube Ice Cream

*Edit: We stopped by Kuma for Hong Kong Waffles and ube ice cream. Super huge so grab some friends and share. Or maybe because I’m not a super sweets type girl? I love that everyone liked the ube though!*

Time to catch up with old friends. Night world!

Emmy, JJ, & San Antonio

Stomping Grounds Play Cafe | Katy, Texas

I took Emmy to Stomping Grounds Play Cafe this morning. I’ve had always wanted her and JJ to meet one day and play together and my dreams came true today. But she was more interested in eating than playing which was surprisingly since she had a whole breakfast thirty minutes prior.

Stomping Grounds Play Cafe | Katy, Texas | Emmy & JJ

They gave each other high fives, she climbed a mountain, played together and shared food. My heart is so full. She even talked a lot of gibberish with Mallory. I hope they do this again one day soon!

Bang Keto Coffee

After I took her home and she forced me to play guitar and sing her to sleep, I headed off to San Antonio. Halfway there I stopped at Buc-ee’s for a pick me up. I saw Bang and had to get it. Justin, from my old job, introduced it to me and it’s the only thing that gets me jittery awake.

Present from Liliana

Once I got there I worked a bit before Liliana and Daniel’s arrival. She got me Game of Thrones Oreos and a Ohio magazine for inspiration when I visit. Eeep!

Taquitos & Panaderia West Ave | San Antonio, Texas

After awhile of chilling at the house and Patricia got home we went and got dinner at Taquitos & Panaderia West Ave. Ashley and Ivan met up with us as well. Taqueria Data point is still my favourite though.

Fast Eddy's | San Antonio, Texas

We went to Fast Eddy’s and got shots with the group. I was only able to get this picture since we were a little to spread out.

Our group picture, finally after a couple of years. We are currently playing pool and Doug has joined us. I’m not sure where the night will take us but no more blogging and back to enjoying the lovely company!

Music | Emma’s Lullaby by Kenzie Nimmo & Harris Heller

June 27, 2019 by Mellie Dee Leave a Comment

I’ve made this Emmy’s Lullaby. When I first heard this song, I had found out SIL was pregnant and I dreamed that one day I’d play this to my little niece or nephew. Fast forward a few years later, she’s old enough to know that a guitar makes music. She’ll come into my room and strum the guitar and I’d pick it up and play Moana and Frozen soundtracks to her, but I’d always end with this song. She sits and sings along best she can and it’s the sweetest, purest love I’ve ever experienced. She’s too young to remember these moments, so I’ll remember them for her. But I also hope that moments like these never end.

Don’t be scared, I’m right here
I’ll whisper softly in your ear
That you’ll be just fine.
Winds will come and they will blow
They’ll try to shake you but I know
That you’ll be just fine.
Don’t cry, precious love of mine.
Don’t cry, I’m right by your side.

…

Hold my hand, I’ll keep you close
I’ll keep you safe and watch you grow
And you’ll be just fine.
You are strong, and you are kind
You’re perfect, I’ll always remind you
You’ll be just fine.
Don’t cry, precious love of mine.
Don’t cry, I’m right by your side.

…

I know the storms of life we face are hard at night
But when daylight breaks
You’ll be just fine

And I’ll be right here
Whenever you need me
Let your faith defeat your fears
Whenever you feel alone
Just know
That I’m right here

Cherishing Emmy Moments

June 26, 2019 by Mellie Dee Leave a Comment

Sleeping Rizzo

Rizzo living the good life while I slaved away at work today. This was what I wanted to be doing but instead, I was in meetings upon meetings. Taking two days off to spend with Emmy was worth it but the workload is killing me, even after working for a couple of hours a day when I was off. One more day until the weekend. I got this!

One of my high school students I mentor to get into college reached out with an essay draft. I may not be the best writer in the world but I love proofreading and reading other peoples stories. She’s a foreigner like me so it’s nice to know she felt and went through the same things as I did.

Emmy While I Blog

Currently having this little stinker in my lap while she watches her educational YouTube videos while I blog. She’s growing so fast and the next time I see her she probably won’t want to sit in my lap so these are the memories I cherish and am thankful to have.

Emmy & Aunties Day at the Children’s Museum

Emmy & McDonald's

I had the greatest pleasure of driving Emmy to Sissy’s alone. I’ve driven this stinker around plenty of times but there was always someone with me to sit with her in the back. I was a little worried about how it’ll go. I stopped by McDonald’s for a quick breakfast, handing her some eggs and hash-browns. She ate very little but was quiet. She wasn’t even awake for a full hour and had fallen asleep during the car ride.

Children's Museum of Houston | Sissy & Emmy

We got to Sissy’s where she played with BIL, Kato, and Bruno before we headed to the Children’s Museum. She was all over the place, touching everything she pleased and had so much fun. Her favourites were the phones and gong.

Children's Museum of Houston | Sissy & Emmy | Lunch

After a good hour or so we went and got food in their little deli shop. Chicken tenders, apple juice, fruit, veggie burger, and fries. She picked the grapes herself, her favourite thing so far. I was surprised at how much she ate and was so proud of her for staying in her seat and for not getting fussy like the day before.

LOL K Car

We dropped Sissy off and headed home. I saw this ridiculousness and had to share. Look at the license plate! … I guess this is good for floods.

I had worked a bit in the morning before we left so coming back, I had less to do. I’ve become one of those people who cannot unplug during vacation. Yikes. Not good. Two days of work before the weekend and seeing some of my loves. I cannot wait!
