Family Day in Waco, Texas

Uber Eats Breakfast Tacos

Sissy and I ordered breakfast tacos through Uber Eats while everyone ate kolaches Mum brought up from Houston.

George's Restaurant and Catering | Waco, Texas

After Emmy had her socializing class, we all headed to Waco. We had plans to check out Magnolia Table but due to the long wait, we headed to George’s Restaurant & Catering instead.

Dad and I shared our foods while Sissy and I shared our drink. The food wasn’t bad. I would opt out of getting the corn though. That was our least favourite.

Dr Pepper Museum | Waco, Texas

We then headed to the Dr Pepper Museum since Mum is their “biggest fan”. She even ordered it with her lunch, per usual. The museum, though small, was a bit fun. I liked that they had some interactive things for the viewers to take a part of.

We all got complimentary drinks. I went with the Sunkist. I drank a couple sips before Mum downed the rest.

Legends Thai Cuisine & Kung Fu Tea | Plano, Texas

We were going to stop by somewhere else too but decided to head back to Dallas. Sissy, SIL, and I played with Emmy while Brudda, Mum, and Dad went to Walmart and then picked up foods from Kung Fu Tea and Legends Thai Cuisine. This is one of the best Thai places I’ve had in America. It’s spicy and they give you so much for your buck!

[2018] 146/365: Game 6 Rockets vs Warriors

Though I’m extremely happy we had an amazing day with the family, my happiest was when I realized I finally get to watch the Rockets game. I haven’t been able to see any since I don’t have cable. Sadly, they are losing right now. Come on, Rockets, push on through!! Sigh …

Heartfelt Sunset

May 25, 2018 by Mellie Dee Leave a Comment

Free Breakfast Klub Chicken and Waffles at Work

Today started with a nice chicken and waffles and other things for breakfast. The office decided on Breakfast Klub. They have one of my favourite fried chicken. Everything hit the spot expect for the potatoes. I really wanted to like them but it wasn’t flavourful enough.

Today was also the day I had my first stressful day at work. It’s surprising, right? It’s been less than a month and I’m already ready to fight. Haha Just kidding. But I’ve never had someone yell at you and tell you to learn to listen better all because I asked a question. Sigh … I’m going to have to learn a different way to talk to her because nothing is working.

2018 | 145/365 | Houston to Dallas Sunset

[2018] 145/365: Heartfelt Sunset

No worries though because once I left work, vented to my loves, I headed to Dallas and saw this gorgeous sunset. It made my heart super happy.

I’m extremely happy because I was able to get this shot in a moving car, don’t worry, I wasn’t driving, and I get to have family time and above all else, spend time with my niece.

First Conference at the New Job

May 24, 2018 by Mellie Dee Leave a Comment

Stuck at School Drop Off with No Kid

This morning wrecked havoc on my anxiety. I was navigating through streets to find the building of where my conference was going to be at and one wrong turn ended me in the school drop-off lane. It was an elementary school which meant teachers or parent helpers were helping the kids out the car by opening the doors. It was super awkward when the lady came to my door and there was no kid. haha

Pappa's BBQ Breakfast at Conference

I ended up being early stopping at Walgreens before going into the building where I was greeted with breakfast from Pappa’s BBQ. After three presentations and a break, it was time for lunch.

Pappasito's Lunch at Conference

I think they have some kind of contract with Pappa’s because we ended up having Pappasito’s delivered for lunch! I forgot how delicious their meats are!

[2018] 144/365: Cuddles with Rizzo

A few more presentations and Q&A later, grabbing a free water thermos, I was well on my way to the Mexican market to buy taco meats for Scruffy. Then it was time to cuddle with Rizzo. Scruffy and Luna came later for dinner with the parents then a guitar session before he took Rizzo home with him for Memorial weekend.

I cannot wait to see my niece! EEEEEP!!

Scruffy’s Family Dinner

May 23, 2018 by Mellie Dee Leave a Comment

Free Jason's Deli Breakfast at Work

Workday started with … FREE BREAKFAST … what else. I am genuinely surprised that Jason’s Deli does a bomb ass breakfast! Everything was super delicious, even down to the strawberries. All big and juicy!

2018 | 143/365 | Dinner at Scruffy's

[2018] 143/365: Plethora of Food

I went over to Scruffy’s after work for dinner with his family including Rami, Caitlin, and Nana. YUM! Everyone dissed the ribs saying that it was too smokey but I LOVED them! As well as everything else on the table. I have a few leftovers to enjoy tomorrow. Eeep!

I get to go to a conference tomorrow, which is closer to my house, than driving downtown to the office! WIN! I’m hoping that I learn enough else it’ll feel like a waste of time. Oh well, when your boss tells you to go, you go!

Ono Poke | Houston, Texas

Ono Poke | Houston, Texas

Work hard, play hard. Or in my case, eat hard. Scruffy picked me up for lunch and we went to Ono Poke.

Ono Poke | Houston, Texas | Prep

I wonder how long the fish has been sitting out in their bar. It’s kind of cool to see them prep our bowls though.

[2018] 142/365: Lunch Date with Scruffy

I got the Classic Ahi (adding seaweed salad, masago, and avocado) and Scruffy got the Spicy Salmon and Tuna. It was very delicious but we got sick of eating the same flavour and was happy we had each other’s to pick at. It would be pretty cool if they had a split bowl like boba places have split cups. Can I patent that?
