X-Rays and Dog Parks

June 3, 2014 by Mellie Dee Leave a Comment

These two poops stayed by my side all last week.

Last Wednesday, after some x-rays, I found out I tore my ligaments around my right collar bone from the accident back in March. Fun stuff. But I still think I fractured it or that it shifted because it still hurts and is bumped up. Doc gave me pain meds but after taking two of them, I stopped.

Hopefully it stops hurting without the meds and I regain my strength again or else I’ll have to get a CAT Scan. I can’t lift weights or play guitar or do anything to irritate it. Whomp. Whomp.

I finally took Rizzo to the dog park today. No pictures though because I was too busy being social and playing with all the dogs there. It ended up being Mallory & John with Lacy & Major, Danielle and her husband with Coco & Cracker Jack, and Samantha.

I was able to convince Sissy and BIL to tag along with Bruno and Rocky. Rocky was HORRIBLE. Hopefully he gets better. He just gets so scared of dogs coming up to him and shows his teeth. Bruno is use to dog parks so he was great and even got into the water … to drink it. Silly.

Rizzo surprised me. I really thought he was going to bark at everyone – humans and canines. But he did very well and got along with all the dogs! He ventured off from me a few times which I’m happy about because he’s usually right beside me. Proud of my little rat. I guess I’ll keep you …

It’s only Tuesday and I’m already burned out. Help.

Wedding Recap

May 28, 2014 by Mellie Dee 9 Comments

Hello!

The wedding went well! I had a lot of fun catching up and meeting new people! Realized I’m probably single because I never know when guys are hitting on me. Yes, even when there was accidental hand holding. I still thought, oh yeah, friends. He’s being nice helping me not fall on my face. Cool … until I was told that’s not what that dude intended. Whoops …

But let’s get to some pictures and what I finally crossed off my bucket list because of this amazing, fantastic wedding I got to be a part of!

Day before the wedding, I went and got mani/pedis with Mallory’s family and Leah. Then she gave us our “bridesmaid gifts”. Not necessary but meant a lot. Won $10 off the scratch off!! And she also got us pearl bracelet and matching earrings to wear at the wedding. Really wish I had earholes. *sigh*

Helped set up the place. The wedding was at The Swinging Door, a barbeque place. It was pretty nice before but made it one of a kind after all the decorations. Very rustic, country feel which is exactly what she was going for! If you need a wedding planner, I’ve got one for you. Mallory’s sister, Madison, had everything down to perfection.

Afterward, we had a dinner get together with Mallory’s entire extended family and the bridesmaids. It was fun getting to meet her family members. It’s pretty cool how they are all from different places but get along oh so well! They were all so friendly and welcoming!

The next morning we went for a Starbucks run for her Bride cup and breakfast! Can’t be official without that!

And I got my hair and makeup professionally done! It’s been on my bucket list and I finally get to cross of professional makeup! And it was airbrush! Gah! I die! My skin felt like porcelain. So freaking smooth.

Mallory & I all dolled up! Super beautiful bride, not bridezilla at all. And so thankful that my first wedding that I was a part of was hers. Another thing to cross off my bucket list!

The party waiting for the new couple for their first dance. The groomsmen were such gentlemen and super helpful throughout the wedding. Can we all be friends? … I need more friends.

After my duties, I got … drunk. Let’s cross that off my bucket list as well. It wasn’t sloppy and I definitely did not black out.

Overall, best wedding yet. Low maintenance yet super fun and relaxing. Perfection.

Still on wedding high especially when new pictures surface on Facebook.

Congratulations, Mallory & John! I love you both!

It’s Here, It’s Here!

Wedding Day has finally arrived for these two lovebirds! And I am freaking excited! I’m so glad that you two have found each other and am honored to be standing next to y’all as y’all say, “I Do”. I cannot wait to see her walk down the aisle and to see his reaction.

Mallory has the biggest heart and deserves the best. And I truly believe she’s found one from seeing the way he takes care of her. I know she’s in good hands.

When John first met Mallory, he thought she was out of her league. Well, John, she still is. Don’t forget it! Just kidding. You two are perfection. You snagged a great one so treat her well because all her bridesmaids will come and hunt you down.

She’s officially a bride now that she has her Starbucks coffee so let the festivities begin!

Happy Wedding Day, my loves!

Trisha finally came to visit me in Houston. We got sushi and what was suppose to be an hour or so became way more. Always fun with this little lady.

Hung out with one of my best friends as of late, Sammy. Got our blueberry beers, ate tacos, played pool, drank, and listened to a live band that did a lot of old covers. They were amazing. We kind of “broke” the pool table … so we’re still 1-1.

Mallory’s Bachlorette Party! We partied on a boat that took us to different bars. Didn’t drink much alcohol but still had a grand time!

Bought the MSI Dominator 17 inch for when I’m away from my desktop so I can still do some graphic designing. Someone asked me for my business card since he has connections to the wedding industry. Merp … one day!

Weekend at the lake for my parent’s 30th Anniversary and Mother’s Day. A surprise for the parents. Brother and Tammy were a surprise for them too. You can see Rizzo tanning after swimming in the lake … then passing out in the shade. I’d say he had fun.

Birthday week. Pretty much been celebrating my birthday all week. Definitely not a fan of being the center of attention. Other than the endless phone calls, texts, and Facebook posts:

Coworkers – Decorated Cubicle & Birthday Card
BossMan – Birthday Cake (not shown)
Monica – Cupcakes
Sammy – Fruit Tarts from La Madeline & A Song Cover
Tony, Ann, Ryland – Target Gift Card
Leah – Wine Umbrella
Tony – Saltgrass Lunch
Sissy & BIL – BJs Happy Hour
Mallory & John – Panera Dinner & Victoria Secret Smells
Liliana – Card in the Mail with Gift Cards (apparently this is Part I)
Endrina, Edie, Yanwen – Fadi’s Lunch
Samantha – Candle, Journal, & Mug

I will, I will, I will get back to this life. I am in the process of thinking of a “business” name and when that takes off I will be able to spend more time with this life again. I really do miss it. I just need to learn to balance my time again.

Slam Poetry

May 5, 2014 by Mellie Dee Leave a Comment

Slam Poetry will always be one of my favorite things.

And lately, this is how I’ve been feeling. Especially after today.

Lauren Bullock is amazing and have so much heart … enjoy.

But I’m not trying to be more than your friend,
Nor am I postponing an inevitable end.
After all, they say if you truly love someone, let them go.
So please know that I’m willing to paper crane all your pages until they papyrus the sky
Like the stars we’ll finally discover when they turn out all the lights.
And I may never be the one who sleeps next to you at night,
But at least let me be the love letter tucked beneath your pillowcase
To remind you that no matter what,
You will always, always be worth the read, my love.
