Emmy and Crawfish

June 22, 2019 by Mellie Dee Leave a Comment

Harry Potter: Wizards Unite and Pottermore Hufflepuff

I downloaded Harry Potter: Wizards Unite since someone else recommended it. I’m not sure it’ll be something I’ll continue playing after a week but it did force me to finally take the Pottermore Sorting Hat. I was sorted into Hufflepuff which is what people tend to say I am. That or Gryffindor.

Emmy and Rizzo Stare-Off

Emmy has been giving Rizzo pets on the head and kisses and he’s been a sweet boy being okay with it … Until she was doing it too frequently and his little growls started to come out.

Crawfish at Gordon's and Patsy's

Gordon and Patsy invited June and I to their house for crawfish. They’re getting better and better at flavouring their crawfish like Vietnamese places. So freaking good. I like having these moments with them as I do get to learn more about them. I guess smaller groups of us hanging out has helped.

Adopt Theodore on Petfinder 3

Hi World, it’s me, Teddy!

After work today, I stopped by Sissy’s to play with this little ball of fur. He reminds me so much of Rizzo when he was a baby. He’s a biter with his tiny, sharp teeth. His paws were so soft and he’s light just like Rizzo was. He loves following people around and rubbing himself on BIL’s socked feet. I was there for a good thirty minutes and taught him to sit. He’s one smart pupper and I know he’ll get adopted easily. I was sad about having to say goodbye to him. I’ve always wanted to foster animals and humans in the future but I don’t think I’d be able to after this encounter.

If you want to adopt this cutie, please follow the link: https://www.petfinder.com/dog/theodore-44938407/tx/houston/pup-squad-animal-rescue-tx1261/

Emmy will be here soon and will be staying with us for a bit! I am SUPER excited since this is the first time having her without her parents. Sissy and I took a couple of days of to have Auntie and Emmy time.

Monday Woes

June 17, 2019 by Mellie Dee Leave a Comment

Today was the first day without Erin. It was a whole lot of crazy especially because Christopher was out too. Luckily he’ll back in the office tomorrow so I’ll have him to fend off everyone. More people are coming to me and I’m not too certain how I feel about it especially when they come yelling. Too much human interaction.

Erin left me her IPad Air. She got it from work at the beginning of her job but she never opened it, the wrap is still on it, so it’s pretty old. I’m debating if I should sell it or even sell the one I bought last year because did y’all notice that they have a new Mini out where it’s compatible with the Apple Pencil?! Ugh … I should have waited to get my IPad. Maybe I’ll do a turn in kind of thing with that one instead or sell it to get the little one. Hmm … decisions. I just really miss the mini IPad I had for years.

I had a not so good moment after work and thankfully Liliana picked up the phone. Forever thankful for her and Daniel for being so lovingly sweet to me. For staying on the phone to talk nonsense and to make me feel better. I cannot wait to see them soon!

No pictures today, just words because I don’t have time. I need to finish my research for my case study so that I have something to bring to the table tomorrow night during our first meet-and-greet workshop. Hope y’all’s Monday was better than mine!

Volunteering and Pampering

Meals on Wheels for Storm Season | Volunteer

Sissy and I woke up bright and early and headed to the Meals on Wheels building. We packed our car with fourty water bottle cases, hurricane emergency food packages and information to drive to certain locations for seniors.

Meals on Wheels for Storm Season | Volunteer | Pappa's Breakfast

We stopped by Pappa’s BBQ for breakfast and coffee before staring our route. Their tamales were surprisingly good.

“Why are there two giant penises in their yard?” – Sissy

I’m glad I spent two hours of my morning helping others. I’ve never been to that part of Houston. Seeing their living conditions and such really makes me grateful for everything I have.

Afterward, I got home to get ready and wrapped Jamsine’s present. And headed over to Katie’s so Jasmine could open her early birthday present. Then I headed over to Tiff’s Treats and picked up some cookies and headed to Mallory’s. We got manicures and pedicures.

Swimming at Janna and Mace's | Glitter Floatie

We went back to her place and headed over to Janna and Mace’s for some swimming and Father’s Day celebration. Mallory and I had made a lot stop at Walgreens to pick up goggles for John and I saw a sparkly Galaxy Floatie I just had to buy.

This is a screenshot from a boomerang. But there were little glittery pieces inside! It was super cute and I wished I had a pool to use it all the time! Also, you can’t even tell she’s pregnant. Ugh … So jealous.

We had Papa John’s, Nothing Bundt Cake, Tiff’s Treats, watermelon, and ice cream for dinner. I got to spend time with Danica who asked so many questions along with Darby. They asked things like, “Do you have your own family?” And “Are we your family?” It’s all so adorable.

Take Me Out to the Ball Game

Rattan with Erin, Jake, Wacko, Juhi and Omar

Jake came into the office so we went and got lunch at Rattan with Erin, Juhi, Wacko, and Omar after the handover meeting. I’ve always wanted to try this place and I’m glad I finally got to. Everything was surprisingly good, even the dessert that came with the lunch order!

Astros v Brewers & George Springer Bobblehead

My old team had a few extra tickets to the Astros vs Brewers game and I was lucky enough to be invited. I got a George Springer Bobblehead that Brudda has been trying to call dibs on.

Astros v Brewers | Shake Shack

I’ve been craving Shake Shack and had mistaken it to be at the Toyota Center. Imagine my surprise when we saw it as we were walking towards our seats. Their fries are probably my number one favourite.

Astros v Brewers | Erin

Glad I got to sit with Erin as tomorrow will be her last day. We, along with a lot of my old team members had a great time. This is by far one of the best Astros games I’ve been to.

Astros v Brewers | Karbach Crawford Bock

Joel came and sat with me for a while majority of the people went to get drinks. Wacko was nice enough to get me a beer and Joel saw me trying to take a picture, just went and grabbed it out of my hand and held it for me. I asked if I can use his services if his wife was okay with it. Can you imagine having an assistant every time you wanted to get a shot? He even complied when I was making a boomerang. Boys, take note.
