Pecan Creek Grille

January 4, 2013 by Mellie Dee 5 Comments

Lunch happened yesterday with some coworkers at:

Pecan Creek Grille

via

Pecan Creek Grille
1510 Eldridge Parkway
Houston, TX 77077

www.pecancreekgrille.com

They have an all day breakfast menu! Which some of my coworkers opted for.

As for me, I stuck with the lunch menu that happens after 11am.

20130103_115330 20130103_115526

Turkey Burger Basket [on an egg bun with grilled onions and mushrooms, fries & and drink] | around $11

You get to snazz up your burger however you like with a few bucks.

My fries are humongous because they actually forgot to put it on my plate. Else, it would be right next to my burger and rest assured, way less. To die for. I’ve never tried thin fries that I adore, and these were just perfect. Just the right amount of crispy on the outside and seasoned to perfection.

As for the burger … juicy. Yum. The onions and mushrooms I got added in there definitely made it that much better. I can’t say much for the lettuce. It tasted old and … disgusting so I kind of left it where it laid.

I got my drink of sweet tea [not pictured]. It didn’t taste good at all. Maybe I went on a bad day but the tea was no where near … sweet. It felt very watered down.

20130103_115325

Homemade Chili [cup] | $3.59

I don’t know why I always feel the need to order chili if I can but I did!

I should of said no to the cheese and not to be greedy with the onions. They sure aren’t greedy with the meat though. You will find chunks of ground meat in there. It was really good and I just loved dunking my fries in there.

I really did love this place and I would definitely come back. I’m thinking of bringing the family here one day.

Hey sissy, if you read this … you can come here! They have veggie burgers!

Has anyone checked out PV.Body 30 Day Challenge for today?

Day 3 and it’s a recipe for Protein Pancakes. I didn’t make them but if you did, let me know how they turned out!

It’s finally the weekend! Hope you all have a great one!

A Whole Lotta Fun

A coworker was leaving to do bigger and better things so BossMan took us out for lunch at:

Pradaria
10694 Westheimer Road
Houston, TX 77042
(281) 501-2960
www.pradaria.com

Cheese Bread – too doughy for my taste. Pass …

Salad Bar – a lot of various choices. My favorite is the cow tongue (gross I know … but so good!) and the mashed potatoes since I’ve been craving it!

All You Can Eat Meat – so many choices! I only had a good I don’t know … 10 or so pieces of different meat. That’s SO much. They didn’t come over a lot though. Maybe because we had a lot of people and was scared we were gonna eat all their food.

Thanks Bossman!

Halloween! Also my sissy’s birthday. Yep she’s a halloweenie! (teehee) I was dressed up as a ballerina. Simple and easy because I was tired from a long day of work. She had a little get together costume party and we had wine and cheese, and snacks, and sweets. YuM!

20121031_210855

There’s no pictures since they are her friends and if she doesn’t want to be on the blog, I doubt her friends would either. Don’t know how they’ll feel about that so here’s a picture of Bruno is his bed while we partied.

Friday

The girls: Mallory, Samantha, Leah M. and I had a girl’s night.

Don Julio’s Mexican Restaurant & Cantina
25250 Northwest Freeway
Cypress, TX 77429
(281) 758-4000

Chips & Dip – free and so good … the green one at least which makes me believe is creamy avocado dip. YUM!

We all got Margaritas on ice (Sam got it frozen). I use to think I hate margaritas but I’m beginning to think I don’t like them frozen. In ice is totally different. Guess because it dilutes the alcohol a bit?

La Paz – the enchilada and taco was so good and moist. The pork tamale … not so much. It was SUPER dry. Don’t ever get that if you ever go here.

20121102_212240

We moved our booties to a bar. We were early so there wasn’t much people but there was a band playing and I loved their choice of music.

IMG_20121103_002636

But we drove down to Midnight Rodeo and danced our hearts away. It was a lot of fun critiquing people dancing. Some people … they’re there for our entertainment. Sorry for being mean but I’m not sorry. You had to be there.

Went over to Mallory’s and we watched Magic Mike with Samantha … too much skin. I’m not use to it. But I guess it’s a given with it being a stripper movie and all.

Channing Tatum is a hottie but my eyes were all for Alex Pettyfer in this one. Mmm … man with scruff.

This week is over already. But I’m excited for what’s to come! Ice Hockey this Thursday. Crossing things off my list! And day off this Friday! Whoop! Happy upcoming week! I promise to do better with this whole blogging during the week thing.

Next Door Bar & Lounge

October 21, 2012 by Mellie Dee 8 Comments

My life is pretty boring. I would wish to be a stay at home blogger or some other job that is at home so I can enjoy life. But then the weekend comes and not much happens and I get bored out of my mind so … maybe at home job isn’t right for me either. Hmm … ever wonder what you’re doing with your life? Like you were going with the flow and now you feel … stuck? I feel like that sometimes because now I don’t know if it’s my life I’ve been wanting to live … or if it’s just living and we just have to deal.

Last week I went to Happy Hour with Mallory and her friend Samantha. Sam is such a friendly girl. I liked her from the get-go. Hopefully we’ll become great friends as time goes on!

Berry Mimosa Frozen Carafe | $18

Mmm … all my friends know I’m a beer lover. Anything else is not up to par but this was actually very good. Tasted like juice meaning you can’t taste the alcohol. That carafe was enough for three glasses tall!

Hot Spinach Artichoke Dip [served with homemade tortilla chips] | $3

I wasn’t very happy with this at all. There was way too much cheese and not enough spinach or artichokes. Sad day. Don’t order it …

Harvest Flatbread [a vegetarian pizza with grilled eggplant, toasted red bell peppers, broccoli florets, feta cheese, and basil pesto marinara sauce] | $6

SO GOOD! Loved every bite. Can’t go wrong with anything basil pesto. Go here and order pronto!

Rustica Flatbread [jalapeno sausage, roasted red bell peppers, mushrooms, mozzarella, and marinara sauce] | $6

This was too spicy but it was still good nonetheless. I’m never a big fan of flatbreads aka pizzas but these were up to par.

Homemade Chips n’ Dip [served with jalapeno feta dressing] | $3

I was a little skeptical of the name of this dish … but it came out very well. The chips were paper thin and super crispy. In a way, melt in your mouth. They weren’t a fan of the jalapeno feta dressing but I loved the spicy tang. If I go here again, this is a MUST order.

I’m obviously not a food critic but this has seriously been one of my favorite happy hour places ever! With great company of course. 😉

Wild Wing Cafe

September 8, 2012 by Mellie Dee 4 Comments

Yesterday started out like any other Friday. Work.

But Fridays are usually different in people are more chill. Wacko, Tony C., Shelly and I chit chatted for a little bit while nibbling on a cookies that Shelly brought. They made fun of my language. LAME.

Then we went back to our workload. Wacko came after lunch and we chit chatted a little more. It was nice reminiscing about the old days. We tend to do that. He even sent a picture of himself when he first started lifting. His scrawny days from when I first met him. I laughed so hard. He definitely looks different.

20120907_175250

Upon leaving, I came home and took a nice hour nap. Then took Rocky to the vet for his shots. He has such a pointy nose. And a little crazy when he sees other doggies. He gets too dang excited.

Then I went home and got ready to meet Michelle and later Mallory at Wild Wing Cafe. Michelle wanted to do dinner and catch up and Mallory knew the guy that was going to play in a band there. So win win. They didn’t know each other but they do now.

20120907_19470320120907_195704

We sat upstairs … the non-smoking area plus our view. Very nice. And I ordered a Blue Moon. YUM.

20120907_200510

Big Fat Fries [crispy wedge cut fries] | $3.29

If you haven’t known, I love fries … And oh my gosh, so happy I got to try these. The ranch isn’t even necessary it was so dang good! A MUST TRY!

20120907_211237

Single Order [10 wings, two flavors, served with 1 dip & celery] | $10.29

I got the flavors wild west and medium. And I loved it. Their wings are super greasy like say Buffalo Wild Wings which is why I love them even more because it’s more on the crispy side like Wing Stop.

IMG_20120907_223416

Best picture of us … Michelle, Me, Mallory.

The night was great also because in the beginning I got to talk to Michelle one on one. Then Mallory came and we all chilled a little, Michelle left, and I got to talk one on one with Mallory. It was a pretty great night. Also because of this …

20120907_233611

When Michelle left, Mallory and I moved downstairs to the bar. Do you see what we saw? Other than Mallory’s friend, Clinton, up on stage, there’s a girl sitting on a guy’s lap. Let’s just say they were acting a little inappropriate if you catch my drift.

IMG_20120907_230611

My Guinness and Mallory’s Vodka and Club Soda. We had these x2. Yum. I love foam on my beers!

I had a great time at Wild Wing Cafe and the food is actually really good. I would come back here for the fries for sure.

And today’s been a super lazy day. I stayed home all day. Snooze.

Hope y’all are having a good weekend!

Ruggles Green

August 24, 2012 by Mellie Dee 5 Comments

Today was such a lax day.

Went to work earlier than usual and got a lot of stuff done.

20120824_08102620120824_064658

Then I took a break and had Tazo Green Tea and bagel with Laughing Cow Cheese … the best cheese because it’s spreadable. Try it if you haven’t. You’ll love it.

Then Wacko and Fatimah came over and visited me. Fatimah and I then went and visited Rose, David E., and Michelle H. Went back and did a little more work then went off to lunch with Rose and Amy N.

20120824_115416

Ruggles Green
801 Town & Country Boulevard
Houston, TX
(713) 464-5557
www.rugglesgreen.com

This is a really sweet restaurant! Reason? It’s Houston’s first Certified Green Restaurant!

20120824_120005

Their cool seating thing. You stick your card in which has your order and it tells the people in the kitchen which table you’re at. Cool, eh?

20120824_120429

Amy N.’s:

Ruggles Green Atlantic Salmon Salad [mixed greens, romaine, shaved carrots, boiled eggs, croutons, and queso fresco; tossed with mango ranch dressing and topped with chipotle honey seared salmon] | $15

Didn’t get to try it but she said it was DELICIOUS. The salmon looks dry because it’s so thin but she reassured me it wasn’t.

She said it’s a to try because it was so good.

20120824_120404

Rose’s:

Vegetable Pizza [tomatoes, eggplant, zucchini, mushrooms, red onion, garlic, mozzarella, fontina and feta and pesto sauce; topped with baby arugula and balsamic vinegar] | $13

I tried it and it was delicious! Not a fan of the arugula but other then that … so  good. Pesto is always my favorite. And the flatness of the pizza was crispy yet it had enough chew. Does that even make sense?

20120824_120648

Mine:

Veggie Sourdough Panini [grilled eggplant, Portobello mushrooms, onions, zucchini, organic hummus, and fresh goat cheese on sourdough] | $9

So dang good! I got a side of Quinoa Tabouleh. Yum! I’m in love with Quinoa Tabouleh. Teach me to make it! The Panini was so juicy. Love my veggies.

20120824_120651 (1)

Mine:

Fire-Roasted Tomato Basil [served with crispy puff pastry dome and sliced mozzarella] | $6

YUM. I wasn’t a big fan of the puff pastry but the soup was SO good. It had a little spice to it.

Everything is SUPPOSE to be organic so it’s definitely costly but it’s worth the money.

After a wonderful meal, we went back in Amy N.’s car and uh … it wouldn’t start. After an hour in the parking garage her husband arrived and we switched cars so we could get back. Thank goodness. I did a little more work then it was time to go. I went down to visit Michelle H. again and we caught up a bit. It was nice.

Then it was time to look for a doggie! I went to CAP and SPCA.

20120824_18212020120824_182236

Two cuties. But I’m not sure. They look like they’ll be kind of big.

We’ll have to look around some more.

Bridal Expo tomorrow! I am excited!
