Tokyo One Sushi & Grill Buffet | Houston, Texas

Tokyo One Sushi & Grill Buffet | Houston, Texas

Last night, Mum, June, and I had a feast of seafood as a last dinner with family before heading back to college at Tokyo One Sushi & Grill Buffet. If you love seafood then I’m told this is the place for you. It felt like a waste of money for me though since I’m not a big lover of seafood and buffets. Each person costs $25 on Friday nights.

For ambiance, the tables were very tiny for the three of us. Our plates were hanging off the edge and after trying practically everything they offered I have come to a conclusion that this place is so-so. There was nothing to rave about other than the sea bass. It’s my go to fish now but I’m told it’s super expensive.

Tip: The only way to get ice cream is to ask your server.

Baker Street Pub & Grill | Katy, Texas

Baker Street | Katy, Texas | The Ruse

The Ruse

After The Continental Club, Ryan dropped Ed and I at Baker St. Pub & Grill for more live music. The pub has live bands play on certain days and today was The Ruse (best picture ever) to entertain us as we waited for Katie to arrive. I actually enjoyed listening to them since they were funny and even covered a lot of songs I knew.

Baker Street | Katy, Texas | Kettle Chips

Warm Kettle Cooked Chips [with ranch dressing] | ~$3

Once Katie showed up we ordered some appetizers to snack on. The chips were crispy like regular kettle chips but there was no falvour which meant having to dip them in ranch dressing repeatedly. Will not order again.

Baker Street | Katy, Texas | Potato Skins

Potato Skins [with bacon, cheddar cheese, and green onions, served with ranch dressing] | ~$6

I never had potato skins with so much potato left in the skin so that was a plus for me and got me full fast. I wished they gave me sour cream instead of the ranch dressing. Dipping the kettle chips into ranch made me sick of it having to dip my potato skins in there as well.

It was nice to catch up with old friends from high school since college broke us all up. Nick came to join us as well and ordered a dirty martini. It was the first time I’ve seen one and I wasn’t a fan.

The Continental Club | Houston, Texas

The Continental Club - Houston, Texas

Last night, I joined Ed and Ryan to a live show of “The Beetles” at The Continental Club. They are there every Thursday night jamming out to the Beatles. They knew every single Beatles song by heart and even take requests.

Hot Dog at The Continental Club - Houston, Texas

The Continental Club sells Lone Stars for three dollars so the boys cashed in on that deal. I ended up buying a hot dog that costs only a dollar instead. They were out of hot dog buns so we had ours on a hamburger bun instead topping with three jalapenos, ketchup, and mustard.

The Beetles

There was an old fashioned RC vending machine and Ryan thought it would work since it felt cold. After figuring out how to use it a guy comes and says, “It doesn’t work. They sell them at the bar.” I’m guessing it was cold because of the weather. There was only one sticker saying that that RC flavour was out but no out of order sign for the whole. I wonder how many people did what we did.

Anyway, it’s packed with people in the working world. Not much college kids like us there. It was fun nonetheless. A good place to go to listen to some great music.
