Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets

[2018] 068/365: Harry Potter #2

We got through the second one! I cannot wait until we are watching the fourth one since Scruffy has seen them up to the third I believe.

Nick's Italian Restaurant | Richmond, Texas

We went back to my house for a bit then picked up dinner from Nick’s Italian Restaurant. Thank goodness we picked it up. The service for that was horrible so I cannot even imagine dining in. I guess they can be that way since their food is “the best”!

Let’s just say, no hostess, owner/manager walks around and does nothing while others are waiting for someone to help us out. When they do, they cannot seem to multitask. The server assured me four times that my food was ready yet it took forever. Ridiculous. And let’s not forget the owner/manager yelling across the restaurant then proceeding to yell, “Come here!” to the server.

Nick's Italian Restaurant | Richmond, Texas | Chicken Marsala, Chicken Parmigiana, Cannoli

Chicken Marsala [chicken scaloppini with mushrooms sauteed in a Marsala wine sauce] | $16.50 • Chicken Parmigiana [breaded chicken breast topped with mozzarella cheese and pomodoro sauce] | $16.50 • Chocolate Chip Cannoli | ~$7

The food wasn’t bad. I wouldn’t say it’s the best ever but for a to-go order, it was pretty good. I don’t mind picking up from them again.

Andrew came over and we hung out a bit. They’re now upstairs playing video games, remotely, with Blake. I’m ready for bed.

Sushi and Fried Foods

February 10, 2018 by Mellie Dee Leave a Comment

Ichiban Sushi & Tapioca | Sugar Land, Texas | Nigiris and Handroll

Scruffy and I woke up and went strolling at the mall before we went to Ichiban Sushi & Tapioca for a light snack. Just a handful of nigiri with a handroll. YUM! Scruffy rarely says, let’s get sushi because it’s so expensive so I jumped at the opportunity when he brought it up.

2018 | 041/365 | Clancy's Public House | Richmond, Texas | Chicken Fried Steak and Fish and Chips

Chicken Fried Steak [10 oz Angus beef, chicken fried & topped with cream and gravy served with mashed potatoes and green beans] | $16 • Fish and Chips [Guiness-battered cod golden fried & crispy served with fries, tarter sauce and malt vinegar] | $12

[2018] 041/365: Fried Foods and Green Beans

We went home for a bit so that he could throw the ball for Luna and I can have some downtime with my Chinese Soaps before we headed for drinks and early dinner at Clancy’s Public House. We both got fried foods but I felt a bit better getting a side of green beans. hehe

This upcoming week is Valentine’s Day and Chinese New Year. Eeeep, I’m excited!

Indian Food

2018 | 012/365 | Bombay Grill

[2018] 012/365: Indian Food

Scruffy and I finally made our way back to Bombay Grill. It’s been a while because last time we went with Andrew we’re pretty sure we all got food poisoning from it. We’re not 100% sure but it was the only meal we ate together and we all got sick so …

It was just as delicious as we remembered and I got a little crazy and ordered an extra dish because … vegetables.

Babies, Events, and Christmas

December 27, 2016 by Mellie Dee Leave a Comment

It’s been a long while since I’ve last updated. Life took hold yet again and I don’t regret it at all! Sometimes you just gotta live so here are some highlights of the past couple months.

Tasting Room | Houston, Texas | Apurva & Mellie Dee

I had two blogging opportunities that I keep forgetting to recap. The Tasting Room at City Centre (with Apurva) and Diamonds & Desserts (with Sissy).

Robbins Brothers | Promise & Engagement Ring

I had fun at both and found my promise ring, engagement ring, and wedding ring at Robbins Brothers. Just kidding, I am not the type of girl that fantasized over getting married and I highly doubt these will be the ones. Nonetheless, it was fun to try them on and spend time with Sissy.

Baby Ems Announcement & Baby Shower

Broseph and SIL finally announced to the world about their pregnancy and Sissy and I threw a family baby shower. I will be Auntie to a little baby girl in February!

Baby John Jr. & Mellie Dee

Mallory and John welcomed their bundle of joy this year. Look at that face!! I cannot wait to see him grow up!

Speaking of babies, Wacko and Monica’s little Emma is to be born any day now! Eeep! So excited. So many babies!!

Bombay Grill | Richmond, Texas | Indian Food

I tried Indian food for the first time since I last almost threw up and … I survived and even ended up liking it more than I thought I would. It takes a while for the food to make but it’s worth it and we’ve been back a second time since then.

Dinner for Scruffy

I’ve never truly made Scruffy a full meal since other people were always around and I was afraid of the critique. I found an opportunity one week and voila! He told me it tasted really good so … I’ll take his word for it.

Rebelution Concert | Houston, Texas

Scruffy’s favourite band, Rebelution, played at the White Oak Music Hall which was a whole new experience for me. You could definitely feel the love of music that night.

Via Colori | Houston, Texas

Scruffy, Jamie, and Ashy accompanied me to Via Colori. Artwork was done with chalk on a sidewalk. It has always been on my list of things to check out so I’m happy that I was able to finally go. These people are hella talented!

Scruffy & Mellie Dee | Work Christmas Party

I was able to attend Scruffy’s work Christmas party at Backstreet Cafe. This has always been on Apurva and I’s list of places to hit but never had a chance to. The food is pretty good but it’s not a place that I will crave to go back to.

2016 Christmas | Dallas, Texas | Scruffy & Rizzo

Christmas this year was super busy. On the 23rd, Scruffy’s intermediate family met up for food, white elephant, and saran wrap ball game. On the 24th, we drove up to Dallas for my immediate family for some all you can eat Korean BBQ, gift opening, games, dinner, and baby room reveal before driving back down. On the 25th, Scruffy’s immediate family had breakfast and gift opening in the morning, and at night, my intermediate family had dinner and gift opening. We are both all Christmas’d out!

We also went to Colorado for a weekend getaway but I’ll do a recap in the next post.
