The day started off with our ride back to Houston. 6 people, 4 dogs. It was tight, but we did alright. haha Cheesy.

Anyway, we stopped by Fuzzy’s Taco Shop for breakfast. They have some cute sauce packets.

I loved Emmy’s Blueberry & Sweet Potato Puffs so much that when June and I were at HEB, I picked this up. It’s not the same brand and it doesn’t contain sweet potatoes but it is still as delicious.

We both took a nap and the rest of the night, we relaxed by cooking our own foods (mostly for tomorrow) and watching the Oscars.

Scruffy and I shared this and it was perfect. For the price and all the “add-ons” other places usually make you pay for already came with the burger!! We all liked that the fried egg wasn’t runny so that it wasn’t too messy … but then again, it did come with gravy.

This was pretty good. Only complaints was that the brisket had a little bit of funky flavour. Or maybe it came from the cheese — goaty like? Not too sure.

But overall all the food was delicious!

We all went home. Some took naps, others attempted to nap, while the rest played games or watched telly, or played with Emmy. Then we celebrated her first birthday. (Sorry, no pictures!) She had so much energy, laughter, and funny moments to last us a lifetime. I cannot wait for more birthdays with her.

Scruffy came over with Luna this morning and after a few ball throws and work on the laptop, we headed to Jarro Cafe for the beloved tacos we’ve missed so much.

Since Himalaya Restaruant was close by, we had to try it out – mainly because everyone says it’s the best!

This is bomb. I wish it was as fluffy as the tandoori nan but it was still amazing mostly because of the garlic. YUM!

This was my favourite. I liked the lamb curry, vegetable curry, rice and the nan. Other than that, I was meh about it.

I think Bombay Grill is still probably my favourite Indian food.

Scruffy and I are never out late anymore. Not too sure if it’s because we live in the suburbs or if we’re just both lazy and over it but I thought we should commemorate this. This frozen rose drink was bomb. I loved it but not so much the price.

I Finally Got Scrabble in Scrabble!!!!!!

Dog Park with Soncco

Happy Chinese New Year! Year of the Dog. It just made sense to go to the dog park, right? We met up with Paola and Soncco this morning after I grabbed an iced coffee from Starbucks because I was T.I.R.E.D.

After the dog park, I gave the pups a bath and here they are taking a mid-day nap. So freaking adorable.

While they napped and I worked on my computer, Scruffy went to pick up some tacos for our late breakfast/lunch, from Las Tarascas. I used to go here a lot with Tony when we were at our old job. They are still delicious, but El Jarro Cafe still beats them by a lot.

Later that night, we all went to Thai Cottage to celebrate the new year. I got the delicious Curry Noodles and shared two plates of Wings of Paradise.

Scruffy and I went to Texas Mesquite Grill so that he can have some beers. I saw crawfish on the menu and had to get, especially since I didn’t eat all my foods. Although this place isn’t seafood boil type of place, it was still delicious so much so that we I ordered another pound!

We’re back home now, playing Scrabble and OH MY GOODNESS I cannot believe it! I finally got to use all my letters on a turn which means it’s a Scrabble which means I automatically get 50 points on top of whatever the original score is! I never knew that was a thing until I played Scrabble with Scruffy and his family.

He keeps telling me that the game is over after every turn we have but I want to see how high my score can really be since this NEVER happens to me!!

[2018] 007/365: Rainy Days Seem to Hurt the Most

Scruffy and I cannot wake up today. He kept hitting the snooze button and I continued laying in bed because of it. Once we got our lazy butts up we packed a bit then headed to Taco Mel for what Andrew says is one of the best tacos ever.

You order your meat and get all you want for toppings and sauces. You can tell I piled that on! I wouldn’t say this is the best tacos ever but maybe it is for Lake Charles.

The drive was pretty painful. It was raining super hard and it was super bright out. The plethora of cars on the road didn’t help matters either. Thankfully, Scruffy wanted to stop at Checkers Drive-In and was nice enough to switch seats with me.

We went on our merry way and I fed him while he drove. Once we were done, I was sleepy and took a nap. By the time I woke up we were almost home!

Rocky, Bruno, Rizzo, Kato Waiting Patiently

He stayed for a quick bit and went home to Luna and his parents. His parents were having people over and we, too, were having people over. Katie, John, Tim, Joanna, and Jas came over for dinner and after dinner we had fun watching Jas make noise and pet Rizzo.

I am pooped. Though we didn’t do much this trip I had fun overall. It was nice of Andrew to let us borrow his place for the weekend.

I finally received my new planner for the year. We’re already a couple weeks ahead but I cannot wait to see how this one will compare to my usual. Stay tuned for that!
