Ling Long Dumpling & Noodle House | Houston, Texas

November 16, 2019 by Mellie Dee Leave a Comment

Emmy Giving Rizzo Kisses

I woke up to Emmy giving Rizzo kisses while the sun was shining into his eyes. It was one of the cutest things I’ve seen. He even sat next to her no matter how much she messed with him and he didn’t make a sound. I spent all morning pretty much playing with her and was ready for a nap.

Ling Long Dumping & Noodle House | Houston, Texas

But as we were about to get to that point, Sissy showed up at the house. Mum, Sissy, and I went to the mall and returned so much stuff and bought some earrings before heading to a late lunch at Ling Long Dumpling & Noodle House. We ordered beef noodle soup, chicken dumplings, pork dumplings, veggie dumplings, milk tea, and hot and sour soup. We were stuffed. The place isn’t bad but I’m not sure how long they’ll last as it wasn’t busy as I thought it’d be even after one on a Saturday.

Emmy & Sissy at the Park

We went home and picked up Emmy. We went to a park that had bucket swings so that she could enjoy them. She loved it so much she was practically on it the whole time other than a few times on the slides with Sissy and me. She had an applesauce break too which I found hilarious.

Wingstop To Go

We got Wingstop for dinner. I’ve come to realize I’m not as big of a fan of the wings now that we make our own a lot in our air fryer. The fries and ranch are the reasons why I go. I still can’t get over them even though I’m not a big fry lover now.

It’s almost ten at night and Emmy is still awake, in my room bouncing around with all the energy in the world while I try to wind down. Getting some Hallmark movies in which I heard you can get paid $1000 just for watching if you got chosen. Lucky. I’m too lazy to submit an application.

Baby Finn’s Baby Shower

October 19, 2019 by Mellie Dee Leave a Comment

Mum, June and I woke up early to pick up Sissy and headed off to Dallas. I slept most of the way to rest my eyes. It was nice not having to drive all day!

Wu Wei Din | Plano, Texas

We left with Brudda, Emmy, and Sammi for lunch at Wu Wei Din. The Xiao long bao aren’t the very best but still one of the bests in Houston other than Wanna Bao.

QQ Teahouse | Plano, Texas

We went next door to QQ Teahouse And it ended up being one of the worst teahouses I’ve been too. That’s all I’m going to say on that.

Baby Finn's Surprise Baby Shower

Sissy and I went and picked up surprise things for baby Ethan. Brudda went to bed and SIL was still at work. SIL’s mum, Jenny, and Le showed up. It was successful!! Sissy made the teddy bear and I made the decorations for the cake. We all are and talked and had a grand time.

Bols | Plano, Texas

We were supposed to go to the State Fair but ended up against it. We went and got Bols for dinner with Jenny and Le. This place is definitely one of the best ramen places we’ve been to.

Fat Straws | Plano, Texas

We stopped by Fat Straws for another Team but mostly for their mochi donuts. We got the blueberry, strawberry, black sesame, and matcha. We’re saving that for tomorrow’s breakfast though.

We’re back at the house watching the rest of the Astros game. All on the edge of our seats!

Lasik Consultation + Gaining a Few Pounds

October 12, 2019 by Mellie Dee Leave a Comment

Joffe Medicenter | Lasik Consultation

I took the plunge and went to my Lasik consultation this morning. I put in the max amount in my flexible spending account to force myself to get this procedure done before the year was over since you lose what you don’t spend.

I chose Joffe Medicenter because my coworker’s mentor went there with his wife a couple of years ago. And plus they had 5 star ratings on Google and Yelp so I assume it has to be pretty darn good.

My consultation went well and I passed all the tests. My procedure will be done next week. I’m scared but excited. It would suck if it failed in the end but I guess I’ll never know until I try. Wish me luck!

Pokeworks | Houston, Texas | Foodie Tasting

Tan invited me to a Foodie event at Pokeworks and I got to play around with the props along with the food we ordered. I was told I’m good at that which made me happy and sometimes makes me wonder if I’m in the wrong line of work.

Pokeworks | Houston, Texas | Foodie Tasting Simple

I like simpler pictures though and these made me happy enough. It’s currently soft opening but their grand opening, on October 19, 2019, will have the BOGO deal along with a chance to win an Apple Watch!

8550 South Main Street, Houston, Texas 77025

Flower & Cream Artisan Ice Cream | Houston, Texas

We then went and got dessert at Flower & Cream. I opted for Unicorn Tracks that tastes like Lucky Charms cereal, Caramel Apple Pie with real bits of apples in a Salted Blue Corn waffle cone. Everything was delicious though I would stick with just the Unicorn Tracks next time. I loved it more than I thought I would!

The Path of Tea | Houston, Texas

He suggested we go to The Path of Tea. I’ve been wanting to go here since forever and was happy I finally made it! So many different teas to chose from! I chose the Relaxation Blend. It had a bit of mint in it but it made me so relaxed I started getting sleepy … or maybe my food coma was kicking in. I ended up getting some to go for nights where I can’t unwind (every night).

I am stuffed. It’s crazy how Tan and I lost contact due to going to different colleges and from one response on Instagram we had our reunion and our life is just talks on relationships with guys and food. He says he’ll invite me to more events in the future so fingers crossed!

2019 Cousin’s Trip | Day 4

October 8, 2019 by Mellie Dee Leave a Comment

Today was our final day and it wasn’t really a day where we hung out. We woke up, got ready and since Sissy, BIL and I have an earlier flight we left first while the others packed and got ready.

2019 Cousin’s Trip | Day 4 | Hash Kitchen | Phoenix, Arizona

We drove back to Phoenix and chose to eat brunch at Hash Kitchen. BIL ordered avocado toast the size of his face times two! They don’t skimp on bread here. Even the monkey bread was way bigger than we had thought! Everything was delicious and the decor made me happy.

2019 Cousin’s Trip | Day 4 | Phoenix to Houston

We headed off to the airport, found a magnet for Mum and waited by our gate. Sissy and BIL went and got their free upgrade to board earlier and they saved me a seat.

2019 Cousin’s Trip | Day 4 | Phoenix to Houston | Drink Coupon Jack and Coke

I got another free drink ticket and went with a Jack and Coke that was so dang strong. I forced myself to stay awake so that I can sleep tonight by watching a movie downloaded from Netflix. The movie is kind of like a Hallmark movie … unrealistic happy ever after.

2019 Cousin’s Trip | Day 4 | Pho Tan An | Houston, Texas

We told ourselves we wouldn’t eat for the rest of the day but we ended up getting pho and the like from Pho Tan An since it was on the way of dropping me off back home and them picking up their pups. I had the eggrolls and saved everything for the rest of the remaining week as lunch prep.

Our trip is over. We had a discussion last night and everyone was happy with how the trip was. Everyone got to do what they wanted except for a couple of things with good reason. No one fought and everyone compromised. We talked about having our next one in the Pacific coast. Maybe hike where there are waterfalls or maybe even Alaska since no one’s been. Cannot wait to see where we’ll be next.

Garmin Vivoactive 3 Music

September 28, 2019 by Mellie Dee Leave a Comment

Garmin Vivoactive 3 Music | Rizzo

Yesterday morning while at work, I took the plunge and ordered the Garmin Vivoactive 3 Music fitness watch. I’ve been looking for over a year now and have been wanting one where I didn’t need to recharge.

I don’t need anything fancy but the ones that didn’t need to charge daily/weekly had horrible reviews so I finally decided on this one. Mostly because this upcoming weekend will be an adventure and I want to see how much walking I actually do.

It came super early this morning and I got to test it out all day. So far it’s great and the battery life is better than I thought. Tonight will be the real test when I go to bed and use the sleep function. Thankful for the $200 I got back doing Rally through work so that I only paid the amount of tax for it.

Dim Sum with Grandma

June drove Mum, Grandma, and I to dim sum. It’s been almost a year since I’ve had dim sum and it hit the spot. I went a little crazy and ordered a lot of food but we were all satisfied, especially Grandma.

Big Lottery

We went home then June and I set out to the Xfinity store for our free bath towels, UPS to return things, DSW, Bed, Bath and Beyond, as well as Luggage and Leather. Going back to City Walk in Sugar Land brought back a lot of memories. I never thought I’d come back but when the boss sends you there to Luggage and Leather, you do not complain.

When I went to refill my gas, June and I went and got lottery tickets. I splurged on the big one because it’s been a long while. I haven’t scratched it yet but fingers crossed! I am hoping I remember to get a Christmas booklet one this year. Scruffy got one before and it seemed fun.

I’m pooped but trudging on. Currently making stencils for a baby shower. Knowing I’ll get a little dough from it helps me push on through as well as having the Hallmark Channel or Lifetime Channel playing in the background helps as well.
