Their Loss

July 28, 2011 by Mellie Dee 2 Comments

Empty Wallets

What does one do when an email pops up saying there’s a sale going on? Go crazy and empty out that wallet of course.

You would think it’s a sale on clothes but if you know me by now, it certainly not clothes but BOOKS! This is sad that we’re pretty much putting all our money on books. But we get free shipping so, not so bad, right?

Barnes and Nobles sent me an email notifying me about their sale. That’s how they get you because before I know it I was checking out eight more fictional books for myself and six cookbooks for Mum.

It was such a good deal since my books were less than three dollars. The cookbooks, on the other hand, were quite expensive but will be much appreciated once they arrive.

Giveaway Thoughts

I’m happy with how my first giveaway is going. Don’t forget to enter before Friday, July 29th at 12pm!

Before posting the giveaway, I told myself that if at least three people entered, I did well. I aim low. It’s been more than three people so that means I beat my goal and things are going very well.

I reached an all time high amount of views yesterday but they didn’t enter the giveaway. Their loss, right?

Networks

If I have never told you before, I’ll tell you this now. I have a lot of networking sites. This blog, Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Tumblr, etc. Lately, I stopped using a majority of them ever since I started reaching out to other bloggers in June. I jumped into the blogging world and just feel I don’t have as much time as I use to with all the other networks.

It was brought to my attention when some friends commented and texted me asking why I was never online anymore. Whoops … They don’t know about the blog so I couldn’t tell them.

I need to manage my time better or else I will have no more offline friends!

How do you manage your time?!

Fun Filled Weekend

** Don’t forget to enter My Very First Giveaway before it closes! **

Crackle Nail Polish

On Friday, I went to Walgreens for a gift bag and ended up buying some cracking nail polish as well! I can be pretty messy when it comes to painting my nails but this looks pretty darn good for a quick test. I think it’ll look amazing with a bright color underneath. Oh, the possibilities.

Mellie Dee & Katherine

Katherine and I

I went to visit Rose and her family since she had given birth to another baby girl, Katherine. I was jealous of her smooth skin. Sigh …

Remember the Nutella Swirled Fudge Brownies? They all loved it, including Michelle H. who showed up after my arrival. More than half was gone when I left which is always a great feeling.

Bagel Thin Peanut Butter Banana Sandwich, Hash Browns, Eggs

On Saturday, the family and I were leaving early to San Antonio to drop off my apartment keys due to my lease ending in August. Because of that, June made breakfast of eggs, Eggo pancakes, and hash browns. I opted for an egg and some hash browns with ketchup and made myself a peanut butter and banana bagel thin sandwich. Mmm …

Pho Hung Cuong Restaurant | San Antonio, Texas

When we arrived in San Antonio, we took a stroll around La Cantera, dropped my keys off, and had lunch a Pho Hung Cuong Restaurant before heading to Borders.

Borders Sale

They are closing and was having a big sale. Books on sale make me so happy but it sucks because that means electronics are taking over, killing libraries and bookstores. I used to dream of opening my own library/bookstore when I was older. Sigh … dreams crushed.

On our way home we were stuck in traffic ten minutes away from our house due to construction. We were running late to Timothy’s dinner and made it … thirty minutes late. He was paying because he found a good job and wanted to treat everyone.

Borders Sale 2

On Sunday, I woke up and went to Borders, again and might have gone a little crazy. I ended up spending $40+ but it’s so worth it! The one sticky that says $7.99 was actually only $5.59!

Bookshelf Full of Borders Books

I have so many books to read now which makes my heart happy. I cannot wait to try out those cookbooks as well. If anyone would want to donate me their books or cookbooks, please send them my way. If they’re something I’d like, I’ll definitely add it to my list.

Apple Running Sensor

On my way home, I stopped by the Apple store and picked this baby up. I’m excited to try it out! I love when I get new toys.

For dinner, we ended up at a Chinese Restaurant in Bellaire. We had enough leftovers for me to have for lunch today. I love leftovers.

Recipe | Nutella Swirled Fudge Brownies

July 22, 2011 by Mellie Dee 2 Comments

I’ll be seeing Rose and her family, along with Michelle H., soon and I wanted to bake some brownies for them. Brownies because I have a box of mix sitting around. But I did something different to them.

Nutella Swirled Brownies | Fudge Brownie Mix

I am a billion and fifty percent sure I did not make this up. I am certain a lot of people already do this. Add Nutella.

All I needed were eggs, oil, and water. Easy Peasy!

Nutella Swirled Brownies | Eggs in a Well Mix

After mixing it all together I added a big heap of cinnamon and poured the batter into a 9×13 pan.

Then I swirled in a bunch of Nutella. Yum!

Nutella Swirled Brownies

This is what came out of the oven. I promise there were better swirls in there!! I love when brownies have a crackle on the top. Hopefully, it tastes better than it looks.

Hope you guys are having a great Friday!! 😀

Sissy came home today and we sat at the kitchen table pinning things on Pinterest. Ever heard of it? It’s like Tumblr but not.

Pinterest Cripple15

This is what my Pinterest looks like at the moment. Not much has been pinned but we’ll get there.

Onto Kohl’s online shopping and Chinese Drama watching.

Night y’all!
