Okay, whoever you are, stop dreaming about me so I can sleep! But I mean, I guess that’s sweet. Whatever legend you are, I’ll take it since I do need a boyfriend. *coughcough*

My contractor company had a social tonight at The Next Door and I took Mallory with me. Free food and a chauffer so she wasn’t complaining.

Actually, we were complaining. Took a while to get our White Sangria and Red Wine which is what we usually get when we go to happy hour here with our friends.

The food took forever to come out as well but it was pretty much worth it. Beef kabobs, chicken kabobs, quesadillas, spinach quesadillas, fruit and cheese kabob, pita bread and hummus, crab cakes, etc. Mmm … too good. Or maybe because we were just so hungry.

Mallory and I sent a photo of us to Samantha. Look at that halo around our heads. So bright. We are good girls.

Tomorrow is my Friday. I cannot contain my joy. It’s been a tough week. Oy vey.

Wow … that title is a bit ridiculous. I seriously need someone to teach me how to name my posts. Any takers? No. Shucks.

I am finally finished with my two day training class. Thank goodness. I’m certain that old, dank building has mold in it. (You can probably figure out what kind of business I’m in.) That would be TWO binders filled with slides and exercises.

My partner in the class was older and someone I’ve worked with in the past. Let’s just say she is very wise. After working so many years in the industry you pick up a lot.

Her: How are you liking your job?

Me: It’s pretty good.

Her: Oh really … I thought you’d hate it.

Me: Oh uh … why do you say that?

Her: Well with your super high skill pool and everything we threw at you in the past, I’d think the stuff you were doing now is too easy.

Oh … *blushing* … was that a compliment? I don’t take those too well. But sadly, she is right about the easiness. I have no challenging work. That’s why I might go back to school in the near future. Get more knowledge and hopefully move to something more challenging.

Which brought me to send out one of my best friend’s belated birthday gift. She shall be getting it upon her arrival back home from Disneyworld … Disneyland? with her fiancé. Hopefully she doesn’t read this post or else the surprise factor will be gone.

How I feel when I haven’t heard from my friends in a while.

I’ve been getting texts and calls from my great best guy friends. (Where my girls at?) It’s weird because we can go on for months and not speak but when we do it’s like our friendship never had a halt. I know I say that about pretty much all my friends but it’s true.

I’m a pretty simple girl. Just text or call to show you care and I’ll be your best damn friend. They can vouch for that … hopefully. Else this just turned awkward. Distance and busy schedules will keep us all apart but true friendships stay together forever.

That’s corny, Melissa. Shut up.

How I’ve been feeling lately.

It’s been pretty busy over here since Sissy announced she was going to have her judge and tea ceremony part of the weddings next month. Eeep. Less than one month. I’m about to poop my pants. I’ve been looking at decoration ideas and whatnot and it’s just going crazy! There is SO much to do!

She’s enlisted me to be her baker so I’ll be makin’ them cupcakes. I spent literally hours on end looking at recipes and hours on end looking at different decoration ideas. I was told not to spend too much time on it but really … who wants ugly cupcakes for their wedding?!

Whomp Whomp.

It’s been pretty hard listening to all that Boston Bombing news but what’s worse is having to read point of views of your friends that live there on social media. Thankfully, they are out of harms way now.

Crawfish Boil

… went pretty well. We literally got crawfish delivered to Bossman’s house from New Orleans. Many were the size of my palm. Crazy, huh?

And the one that cooked it for us was a real New Orlean-er? That’s a word, right? Well, it was deliciously Cajun. Mmmm those sausages and potatoes were bombdiggity. Not too much for the corn. I wasn’t able to get each kernel by itself therefore they were not good. But in all he did gooooooood.

I made cupcakes … of course. This was before assembling them. My favorite part was making the little chocolate decorations (right) that would go on top of the frosting.

I did everyone’s first initial so they could all have their own personalized cupcake. They loved it!

Chocolate Fudge Cupcakes with Cookie Dough Frosting.

I was actually very disappointed in my cupcake. It wasn’t up to my liking. But surprisingly everyone else loved it. I guess sweet really isn’t my thing … and you rate yourself more when you make everything from scratch.

Let’s just say, Cookie Dough Frosting is a big hit. Finger lickin’ good. Seriously … a lot of them were licking their fingers.

Walk With Me

Amanda invited me to walk with her and her team to help with cerebral palsy … so I joined, raised $120, and recruited my friends.

Mallory & Samantha of course. I have no other friends. Thanks for coming out and joining me guys. I know waking up at 6am in the morning is painful for a weekend.

We made our 3 1/2 laps around the Houston Zoo. When we finished we went to the after party that included live music, children games, and food. Breakfast burritos, donuts, and donut holes. Yum!

 

Then we made our way around yet again to look at the animals. They were not out when we were walking. I took a couple of shots. Monkey, Lion, Monkey. I love monkeys. Can you tell?

Cloud Cafe

If you haven’t guessed where I am blogging from, you obviously don’t know me well enough. Cloud Cafe. Duh. Jk. It’s not like I come here all the time. But look at that butterfly. Too cute, right?

We get to look at zoo animals after and I’m hoping I get to see them monkeys. My favorite. They HAVE to look like Marcel from F.R.I.E.N.D.S. Sorry I reference everything to F.R.I.E.N.D.S. It was too dang good.
