Friday is finally here. That means right now I’m out … shopping. Labor Day Sale at the Outlets! And on an early Friday morning? That means NO CROWDS … hopefully.

Love having some Friday’s off. It’s been a long week. Surprisingly things went well at work. Not too much was going on. But for some strange reason I feel drained.

For all those that started school, one week down!

Everyone and their mums are getting engaged. WHAT IS GOING ON?! I feel so behind the curve. Grandma told me to stop playing around and find a guy. Seriously? Obviously she doesn’t know how hard it is to even meet a friend when you graduate from college.

Congratulations to Wacko and Monica nonetheless!

Wednesday’s dinner. SO FREAKING GOOD. Forgot how much I love portobellos. Thank you Kenny & Cindy for leaving and dropping these off! Cracked an egg and put in a little bit of mozzarella in the cap. Baked with some broccoli. Simple and easy meal! DONE!

Thursday (yesterday) was Samantha’s birthday so I bought her cupcakes (on the left)!! And got some more for June’s birthday that’s TODAY! All from Small Cakes.

For Samantha’s birthday, we celebrated at Carrabba’s with her brother, Cal, and Mallory. The weirdest thing to me was that Cal paid for everyone’s dinner. I’m not use to that so it kinda made me uncomfortable. Hopefully that’s a one time thing because it’s Samantha’s birthday.

My gorgeous friend, Samantha, blowing out the candle on the birthday cake cupcake. Happy birthday! I love you!

Hope you all have a great Labor Day weekend! I cannot wait to hear all about it!

Pictures from Last Week

August 26, 2013 by Mellie Dee 4 Comments

No lies when I say I’ve been swamped and haven’t read any new posts since I put up the last one. Been cleaning my room. Once a year clean is a great idea since things accumulate and lose value as time goes on. Hello less clutter!! Cannot wait to buy a dresser or something so I can put everything together!

He’s been on the Food Network because of his cupcakes and he has a cupcakery everywhere! Best cupcakes I’ve ever had. EVER.

Mini Vacation in Kemah

August 19, 2013 by Mellie Dee 6 Comments

Hola Doodies! Teehee

I’ve been so busy lately due to brother being in town. Yes. I know I’ve said that for the last couple posts but … he’s gone now so blogging should resume back to normal. But who knows.

Mum and I have been cleaning the kitchen drawers, pantry, and living room. Woof … so tired. My room is next!

PhotoGrid_1376882534110

Friday was my day off … holla! And I finally got a haircut. It’s not much of a difference (best picture I could get). Just three or so inches off the ends (no more dyed parts!) and better looking bangs (not ones I chop off myself).

Loved the place I went to called Beauty Brands. It’s kind of like Ulta. I was told this place was pretty great so I took a chance and … I loved it. Question is, should I use the same person next time or experiment with someone else. Hmm …

IMG_20130816_185549

Friday night, the family went to Kemah (for the first time for some of us!) as a mini vacation. Tammy and June have already been.

20130816_163041

The water looks nice … but it was actually muddy green. Gross. haha

PhotoGrid_1376883508180

We put in $5 in the crab machine and on my first crabbing I got this Hello Kitty (which I gave to Tammy to give to Sammi when she got back to Dallas. Then June and I got Dippin’ Dots. Mint Chocolate Chip and Strawberry which I shared with Mum.

PhotoGrid_1376882692586

We bought tickets to the Stingray Reef where we got to feed and touch the stingrays! They were very smooth and not at all slimy. Picture touching velvet. Feeding them were kind of tough. Where I thought was their mouth was actually their gills. If I could go back, I’d feed them correctly.

PhotoGrid_1376882737676

We were kids in the candy store. We bought gummies and jelly beans and after we paid, we sat outside and at them! It was cute seeing Mum dig for different flavors of jelly beans.

Buffet Dinner | $13.99 (I think)

I’m not a fan of buffet but it’s always easier than figuring out what everyone wants to eat. This wasn’t any different. Buffets are not for me. The food wasn’t as great and in reality, I’d rather go to a restaurant, order what I want, and take home what I cannot finish. With buffets, I eat one dish and usually am done. But everyone else that was there seemed to like it. Picky eater, maybe?

Monday’s are always a drag. But we got this!

Pizaro’s Pizza

August 14, 2013 by Mellie Dee 4 Comments

Bah! Blogging has been put on the backburner since my brother’s been in town. He’ll be leaving Saturday so life will resume back to somewhat normal. I still have to clean up my room due to moving around furniture. Sucks … but much needed. I should probably do this once every few years. You don’t notice how much crap you’re hoarding until you move stuff around.

tumblr_mr4y5tzmRf1qdlh1io1_r1_250 via

Yesterday some of us went out to lunch to celebrate one of our coworker’s birthday/last day week of work. That’s what the carrot cake I baked was for – no pictures though. We went to:

Pizaro’s Pizza
14028 Memorial Drive
Houston, TX 77079
(281) 589-7277
www.pizarospizza.com

PhotoGrid_1376507109845

Lunch Special [8" single topping pizza with side salad] | $8.99

The lunch special is pretty much what everyone got. If you wanted to add a topping it cost extra depending on what you picked. Then you get a choice of a side salad: Cesar Salad or House Salad. Always House Salad for me! It was much more colorful than the Cesar.

The pizza came out very quickly (online, it says 90 seconds is all it takes). I got the Italian Sausage plus mushrooms on my pizza. They believe in less is more but … I don’t agree. The crust was very good. At least the parts where it wasn’t burnt. I had a little burnt curst on the right side and underneath. Crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. To me, there was not enough sauce so it was somewhat dry at some places. The cheese is fresh mozzarella sliced and plopped on with a sprinkle of sausage and mushrooms. Literally a sprinkle of sausage and mushroom.

I’m very picky about pizza since I am not a big fan to begin with. I understand that’s the style they’re going with but I don’t see what is so great about this place. Maybe everyone was raving about it too much and gave me high expectations. Or maybe because the price for that size a pizza is not worth it. I agree with more is more. Slap on more toppings! So will I come here again? Only if coworkers wanted to and it was for a special event.

Brother is out picking up Tammy from the airport. She’ll be here for a few days. Yay.

There are too many words on this post so bye! It’s almost the weekend!
