Weddings and a Rizzo

February 2, 2015 by Mellie Dee 2 Comments

Super long weekend. We drove all the way to Dallas to visit my brother and Tammy’s family, along with my cousin, Joanna, and her soon-to-be husband, Kiran.

There was much talk about both their wedding’s. Joanna and Kiran’s is in a few weeks and I’m super excited! We are attending an Indian wedding, a Chinese wedding, and a American wedding. How crazy is that?

We also tried on bridesmaid dresses for my future sister-in-law’s (SIL) wedding, aka Tammy. We didn’t find any that worked for everyone. And by everyone, I mean me. My chest area is too big for certain dresses and the brand wasn’t going to make a bigger size for it. So back to square one.

I feel horrible since it’s because of me that we still can’t find a dress. I’m hoping we find one soon because I’m getting tired. Like this little guy …

Look at my snaggly toothed baby. This is what he looks like when he’s sleeping in someone’s (my Mum’s) arms.

P.S. Since the Cowboys nor Texans made it to the Super Bowl … go Patriots!! Smile

Happy Monday!

Clear Blues and White Sands

Hello, beautiful clear blue waters and white sands. In a few months, I’ll be all up in you and on you.

Soon enough I’ll get to cross Mexico off my bucket list because Cancun is booked!Smile  It’ll also be my first trip without any of my family members/soon-to-be family members. Eek!

I’m not really sure if it’s really Cancun since it’s called Playa del Carmen and I’m too lazy to research that. But … I will just pretend they are the same. If anyone knows and wants to tell me …

My friends (Wacko and Monica) are getting married and I’ll be rooming with the groom’s sisters! We’re staying at the resort so you know what that means! … DRINKS on DRINKS! … even though I’m not a drinker. You know, gotta look the part. Winking smile

One Step Closer To Being Girly

January 26, 2015 by Mellie Dee 2 Comments

Yesterday, I tried on bridesmaid dresses for Michelle’s wedding and I’m excited. The dresses are long and super elegant! Michelle was nice enough to let us pick what cut we wanted as long as it was the same material and long.

Three ended up with strapless, sweetheart with a knot in the middle. Two ended up with straps, sweetheart, raunching. I ended up with straps. If I want to dance, I want to make sure my girls won’t be dancing either.

And because I wasn’t able to wear earrings for Mallory’s wedding, I told myself, next wedding I will get them pierced so …

… I took the plunge and finally got my ears pierced. Yep!

As I was waiting to get mine done, there was a little baby there getting hers. I didn’t cry and it didn’t hurt … for now. I am only afraid of it not closing properly or whatever.

Since I was in elementary school, I’ve wanted to get them pierced but my grandma has always said I have Buddha earlobes and that means I’ll be rich. If I stab it, I’ll be losing it all. So I guess I’m going to be poor but hey, I’ll have fabulous looking ears.

Setting Free

These words cannot mean more to me as they do right now.

I’m always the one worrying about everyone – putting their happiness ahead of mine.

Stress galore.

I’ve decided to speak up; my opinions should factor in and matter. If they truly love me, they won’t mind my words. Of course, I won’t take it for granted and mouth off every single dislike.

I am still afraid of speaking up, not knowing where the relationship could go afterward but when I do, it’s the most freeing feeling. Things aren’t bottled up as much and I can breathe again.

Stress less.

How does this quote relate to you at this moment?

2015 New Year Resolutions

January 21, 2015 by Mellie Dee 1 Comment

San Antonio. Austin. Dallas. Cancun. Hong Kong. Thailand. Big or small, this just might be the year of travels. I just have to factor in travel expenses and vacation days before it’s a yes to everything.

Bridesmaid for two of the five weddings means more expenses – dresses, bachelorette and bridal parties, gifts, etc. Luckily two of the five weddings are right here in Houston. The one in Cancun is still up in the air on whether or not I go but gosh do I want to go. To see my friends get married and just look at that gorgeous blues!

And because there is so much going on, I have to remind myself to stay on track so here are 2015 New Year Resolutions.

Blog more. Almost all the blogs I use to follow stopped blogging. They’re too busy living life – being married, being a mother; understandable. It got me unmotivated to blog because I started losing my friends – people I have never met. But I just have to remember to blog for myself.

Focus on health and fitness. I stopped when I got into that car accident back in March. Although my collar/shoulder isn’t fully 100% healed, I just have to slowly rebuild the muscles around those parts. Slow and steady wins the race! Above is one of my favorite eats. Plate of greens with grilled chicken and pesto pasta. YUM!

Do what I love. Sometimes I forget to just have fun or to just wind down. I am the type of person that always has to have something going on and when plans don’t follow through I freak out. I made a last second decision to go to a Rockets game with Zuco this Monday and it was one of the best times ever. Spontaneous. No planning. Perfection.

Thing Good Thoughts.

Til next time,
