Los Cucos | Katy, Texas

2018 | 126/365 | Los Cucos | Katy, Texas | Taco Plate

[2018] 126/365: Celebratory Lunch

Scruffy loves the chimichanga from Los Cucos so I was able to convince my parents, Sissy, and BIL to go there for lunch. Sissy and BIL wanted to pay to celebrate me finding a job, Dad and Mum wanted to pay to celebrate the same thing but also to celebrate Sissy and BIL’s 5 years of marriage. I ended up winning and paid as thank you for taking care of me while I was jobless.

They have some great food. My favourite is their green tomatillo sauce that comes free with chips and red salsa. Scruffy found a recipe for the sauce so I’m excited to make it one day soon!

Afterward, we hung out for a short bit before saying goodbye to everyone. I’ve been lazy ever since. Tomorrow’s my first day. I’m ready! But I’m not.

Great Company and a Movie

May 5, 2018 by Mellie Dee Leave a Comment

Breakfast with Peyton

Rami, Caitlin, Peyton, and Cailtin’s Grandpa came over bright and early for breakfast. We all enjoyed laughter with Peyton and Scruffy even got to change a dirty diaper!

Kendra Scott Cinco de Mayo Sweets

When they left, Scruffy and I went to Kendra Scott to use my birthday discount. They were having Cinco de Mayo goodies. I snagged a few delicious macarons as we waited for someone to answer our questions.

2018 | 125/365 | Kendra Scott Cinco de Mayo/Mother's Day Photobooth

[2018] 125/365: I Love Photo Booth Pictures

They even had a makeshift photo booth and although Scruffy wasn’t too down with taking one, he did it for me and I LOVE IT A LOT, especially since we don’t really have someone taking photos of us. Oh, and the matching thing definitely happened by accident!

2018 Birthday Present from Liliana & Daniel

We also stopped by William-Sonoma, Magpie Giftshop, and Kroger before heading back to his house where he packed his stuff to come over to my house with Luna. I was surprised with an early birthday gift from Liliana! I haven’t seen her for so long but we have plans to see one another soon and I cannot wait!

AMC A Quiet Place Movie with Snacks

Scruffy and I went to AMC to watch the movie A Quiet Place since I had free tickets to any movie at AMC. He rarely goes to theatres with me so I was surprised that he was down with ordering snacks, which isn’t something I’m used to so I HAD to get the curly fries! The movie was pretty good, quiet suspenseful but there are some holes. I heard there’s a second one and I’m down to watch that too.

Dinner with Scruffy and the Parents

We went home and had dinner with my parents and I was so happy to find out he was fine with the foods! Win!

7 Wonders with Scruffy

Scruffy and I played a round of 7 Wonders (I won) and Scattergories (we tied). Now I’m blogging while he’s playing the computer at Star Realms. Then it’s shower and Scrubs. Night y’all!

El Salvador Pupusas Y Mas | Richmond, Texas

2018 | 124/365 | El Savadr Pupusas Y Mas | Richmond, Texas

[2018] 124/365: Salvadorian Deliciousness

I didn’t take many pictures today but I was lucky to get some pupusas for lunch. They were great but not the best. There’s a place in Katy that’s better at stuffing their pupusas. Their tamales though were my favourite but the clear winner was the carne asada plate for Scruffy and me.

We stopped by Wal-Mart and have been home ever since. Rami, Caitlin, and Peyton made a guest visit for dinner where Ashy made amazing fettuccine alfredo with garlic bread, salad, and asparagus. I was too busy trying to get pictures of everyone that I forgot to take a picture of the food.

I also bought a new PS4 game, Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy, to play with Scruffy and it seemed that Jamie liked it as well.

I’m ready to call it a night soon. This weekend will be my last before I start the new job. Eeep!

Stuffing Our Faces

May 3, 2018 by Mellie Dee Leave a Comment

85°C Bakery Cafe | Sugar Land, Texas

I was running around like a headless chicken finding a place that notarizes I-9 forms for work. After a few attempts and getting back so many nos, I headed over to Scruffy’s where we hung out for a bit before heading to lunch. We stopped by 85 Degree Bakery since the restaurant wasn’t opened yet and grabbed a handfuls of goodies, mostly for my parents … if Ashy doesn’t eat it all.

Kura Revolving Sushi Bar | Sugar Land, Texas

Once Kura Revolving Sushi opened we started to feast. Fifteen plates later, we got our little gift (sushi washi tape) and Scruffy scarfed another one before we called it quits.

2018 | 123/365 | Venice Nails & Spa | Sugar Land, Texas | Pedicure

After eating, I dropped Scruffy off at his house and stopped by the new job’s company to sign the I-9 form in front of them since I couldn’t find a place to notarize. After that I went and got my nails done at Venice Nail & Spa since Jamie and Ashy got me a gift card at Christmas time.

The Rouxpour | Sugar Land, Texas

I went back to Scruffy’s, hung out a bit and after a few hours of trying to decide where to go for dinner. Scruffy wanted to treat me to celebrate finding a job and we ended up at The Rouxpour for a drink and some delicious oysters. The one with spinach, crab, and hollandaise oyster was our clear winner as well as the original with nothing on it. As Scruffy describes it, super buttery and easy to go down.

The Sugar Refinery | Sugar Land, Texas

Few doors down was the The Sugar Refinery where we grabbed some Saloon Door Tasty AF, calamari, and an old fashioned.

HEB Seafood Stuffed Salmon and Frozen Brussels Sprouts

Since a lot of places were closing, we went to HEB and picked up things for our main entree meal. I went for the seafood stuffed salmon and frozen Brussels sprouts while Scruffy opted to fry fries, corn dogs, and whatever else he could get his hands on since Mum gifted him a fryer.

I am now tired and ready to just lay down and relax.

Another Day of Shopping

May 2, 2018 by Mellie Dee Leave a Comment

Makeup Mellie Dee

I decided to slather my face with makeup today since I was going to be running around all day.

Whataburger

I went to the bank hoping that it was going to notarize my work forms but, they don’t do that type of notary so I went and got Whataburger instead. I ate that in the car then headed to get my breath and urine drug test.

Houston Premium Outlets

Upon completing, I went off for hours at the Houston Premium Outlets. I hate shopping but it was nice knowing that I was in search of a fancy purse, which I found!

2018 | 122/365 | JJ and Pancake Batter

[2018] 122/365: Before the Busted Batter

I stopped by Mallory’s since it’s been a while and might be a while longer once I start my job. JJ wanted to shake the pancake mixture so I let him and I asked Mallory if we should continue to let him because he might drop it. Seconds after she said we should probably let the air out before it burst …

JJ Spilled Pancake Batter and Major and Lacy Lapping It Up

He dropped it on the floor. The batter went everywhere and the dogs went wild, lapping it all up. Lacy was more in love with it than Major. After Mallory, John, and JJ ate dinner, we all headed to the little neighbourhood park before I called it a night with them.

Pan Fried Dumplings and Steamed Fish

I went home, showed Mum the new purse I got her and we went to Katy Mills Mall to change it to a different colour. It resulted in me buying a wallet wristlet that fits my phone. Then we went home and had dinner of pan-fried dumplings and steamed fish. Yum!
