Meeting Claire AKA Miss Fussbucket

Free Quiche at Work

When I walked into the breakroom my heart was a little broken to see we were having quiche. But when I took that first bite, I took back all my thoughts. It was very delicious. It was funny because the guy I went to grab it with said he had the same feelings until he took his first bite. This goes to show, don’t judge food by their looks.

Work has been tough the past few days and last week and it doesn’t seem to be letting up. I try not to let it get to me but it’s so hard when it’s your reputation on the line and when your work ethic is to always do 110% and someone isn’t letting you. Sigh … I guess only my perfectionists will understand.

2018 | 150/365 | Michelle and Claire

[2018] 150/365: Michelle & Meeting Claire

I left work, went home and picked up my presents to Claire and headed over to Michelle’s house. They were finally in town and I finally got to meet Claire! She was born last September and I keep forgetting that it’ll be a year soon. Crazy. We didn’t do much but catch up, watch The Wiggles, and eat Chinese takeout.

Since they don’t have family around where they live, Michelle needs all the help she can get and seeing Matt be hands-on confirmed that. It made me so happy to see them be such great parents to little ole Miss Fussbucket, as Michelle calls her.

Mellie Dee & Claire

It was so nice to get to touch Michelle. I know, that sounds weird, but when you miss your friend, you want to hold them tight and never let them go. I keep telling myself, just a few more years and they’ll be moving back. By then Claire will be four and well, I’m ready. Counting down the days till they’re back forever.

Woosah

Wok & Roll | Houston, Texas | Addicted

You would say I’m obsessed with Wok & Roll but I think I’m just comfortable knowing it’s fast and easy. Per usual, I ate a bit from the box, ate the eggroll, drank the soup and saved the rest for tomorrow’s lunch.

I was able to talk to my boss about my “stressful” Friday. I hope in doing so it could get me some insight on how to communicate with her. Fingers crossed it all works out. I just want everyone to get along. Sigh … woosah… two more days until “vacation” to celebrate Scruffy’s birthday with his family.

2018 | 149/365 | More Crawfish

[2018] 149/365: Crawfish for Days

Okay, maybe not for dayyyyyyyyys but two days is still a lot! I ate it for three meals! We all polished off the rest tonight at dinner and though they were tiny, a bit on the dirty side, I was thankful I had the luxury to even enjoy these little critters and have someone cook them for me.

2018 Memorial Day Crawfish Boil

BetterBack Therapy

The BetterBack Therapy was on SharkTank and I’ve always wanted to try it. I saw one of my co-workers using it to help with her sciatica pain. She said that it worked for her along with doing yoga so I went ahead and ordered myself one. I’ve used it for thirty minutes overall today and I will say my back does feel better. Time will tell if it actually works or if I need to return it.

I do want to do Barre or yoga classes and I’m wanting to find a workout place between home and work. But one thing at a time until my schedule is more settled.

Rizzo Is Home!

Scruffy and Luna came over today bringing Rizzo home. He looks so happy to be back.

From what I hear, he was a great pup at thier house and I even received a text from Scruffy that he misses his follower because since I wasn’t around for Rizzo to follow, he chose to do it to Scruffy.

2018 | 148/365 | Scruffy Making Crawfish

[2018] 148/365: My Man

June went and bought things to make for a crawfish boil as we were driving back down from Dallas.

But kudos to the best boyfriend ever. He slaved over the pot in this 100+ degree heat making us crawfish, shrimp, sausage, and veggies. He uses the ice chest steaming method for that amazing tenderness.

2018 Memorial Day Crawfish Boil

We have SO much leftover and I happily enjoyed more at dinner. I believe the best crawfish is when it’s had time to sit for the flavour to sink in.

It’s been a memorable Memorial Day but tomorrow it’s back to reality. Thankfully I took Friday off for the start of Scruffy’s birthday weekend. I cannot wait to give him his present!

Dad’s Early Birthday Celebration

Lunch at Joanna and Kiran's New House

Today has been an equally busy day. We started out going to the neighborhood pool for some splish and splash. Emmy did wonderfully without any tears for the hour we were there.

We then showered, got ready, and picked up food from Lucky City to bring and eat at Joanna and Kiran’s new place! And to meet the new addition!

Brudda forgot his phone was in his pocket before going in the pool and so we all headed to Costco for his new one and the mall for a new screen protector.

JT5 Restaurant Hot Pot & Grill | Plano, Texas

We were able to relax for a short while before heading out for dinner at JT5 Restaurant Hot Pot & Grill with SIL’s parents. It was also for Dad’s early birthday celebration.

I can’t speak for the Korean barbecue aspect since we didn’t get that but this easily jumped to a top favourite hot pot place. Especially because we were able to make our own sauces at the sauce bar.

The only complaint I have is that they don’t look at the order sheets and give you more or less of what you actually ordered.

2018 | 147/365 | Dad's Birthday Ice Cream Cake

[2018] 147/365: Dad’s Early Birthday Celebration

We stopped by 85 Degree Bakery to pick up some breakfast for tomorrow morning before all going back to the house to cut the ice cream cake we got earlier.

Tomorrow we head home. I cannot wait to see Rizzo! Scruffy has been taking care of him and sending me little snaps and updates which is never enough, obviously.

Family Day in Waco, Texas

Uber Eats Breakfast Tacos

Sissy and I ordered breakfast tacos through Uber Eats while everyone ate kolaches Mum brought up from Houston.

George's Restaurant and Catering | Waco, Texas

After Emmy had her socializing class, we all headed to Waco. We had plans to check out Magnolia Table but due to the long wait, we headed to George’s Restaurant & Catering instead.

George's Restaurant and Catering | Waco, Texas | Food

Dad and I shared our foods while Sissy and I shared our drink. The food wasn’t bad. I would opt out of getting the corn though. That was our least favourite.

Dr Pepper Museum | Waco, Texas

We then headed to the Dr Pepper Museum since Mum is their “biggest fan”. She even ordered it with her lunch, per usual. The museum, though small, was a bit fun. I liked that they had some interactive things for the viewers to take a part of.

Dr Pepper Museum | Waco, Texas | Complimentary Drink

We all got complimentary drinks. I went with the Sunkist. I drank a couple sips before Mum downed the rest.

Legends Thai Cuisine & Kung Fu Tea | Plano, Texas

We were going to stop by somewhere else too but decided to head back to Dallas. Sissy, SIL, and I played with Emmy while Brudda, Mum, and Dad went to Walmart and then picked up foods from Kung Fu Tea and Legends Thai Cuisine. This is one of the best Thai places I’ve had in America. It’s spicy and they give you so much for your buck!

2018 | 146/365 | Rockets vs Warriors | Game 6

[2018] 146/365: Game 6 Rockets vs Warriors

Though I’m extremely happy we had an amazing day with the family, my happiest was when I realized I finally get to watch the Rockets game. I haven’t been able to see any since I don’t have cable. Sadly, they are losing right now. Come on, Rockets, push on through!! Sigh …
