Life was a little rough in the beginning of the week. Monday was all fine and dandy but right when nighttime hit, I felt a little nauseous. I ended up taking Tuesday and Wednesday off. I laid in bed a lot but was able to finish two puzzles this week.

Rizzo was a trooper. He literally laid in bed with me all day. He needs a bath.

I worked only 2 days this week and when Friday rolled around, I was in tip top condition. I was able to follow through at the food bank. They were doing the Mayor’s Back to School Fest where you load backpacks up with school supplies. We were able to fill up 17 pallets which equaled to 1700 backpacks!

I even got the meet the mayor and there was a high probability that I ended up on telly. After 4 hours, I went to return my Amazon things and picked up Raising Cane’s for lunch.

Saturday I met up with Mallory & Beth at Capri Nails to get pedicures. I am loving Vietnamese Coffee. Can someone please make it for me? I know mine won’t come out the same.

We went next door to Emily’s Taqueria so that Mallory can pick up food. She bought me a watermelon paleta. The flavour was good and the coldness was perfect for the hot day. But I feel like they’ve been sitting there for a long time because the texture was a little weird.

We went to Beth’s where we rummaged through her nail collection. Mallory left and I stayed chatting up a storm with Beth. She helped me see some things through and helped me build some courage on other things. Thankful to have her in my life!

Since I was sick I didn’t eat and I went crazy and got wings yesterday and sashimi today. It hit the spot. Now, it’s eat better time. Jenny’s wedding is coming up and I have not done well for myself.

Frankenstein and I did our first video chat last night that lasted two hours long. We took a picture with our pets. HAHA And ended up in space. It was nice to see his face and be together even when we cannot. physically I haven’t gotten approval if he would be okay to appear on the blog, so for now, you get stuff like this. You’re welcome.

August is my chilliest month, no trips! But it also means, one of the months where I have more time to make all the shirts I need to make … and those damn pillow covers Brudda needs me to make for his couch.

Went over to Frankenstein’s Monday and got to meet Artemis. He finally named her. Her for now until he actually takes her to the vet. She wasn’t a big fan of me at first so I started taking out different toys I got her (pickle included) to see if I could bribe her. She wasn’t a fan and questioned my every move. She did like my hair and dress though. She finally gave up and cuddled with me a bit while we watched Manifest. I accidentally fell asleep for a short period. Whoops.

I got kitty updates throughout the week. Her eyes are turning yellower! And now I want a cat.

I was able to get some crawfish from Yummy Seafood Tuesday. It’s probably my last time for the season and it was perfect.

I also got to get in a few cups of Watermelon Juice. I got an immersion blender during Prime Day sale and it’s been well worth it. I feel so dumb for not getting one sooner! I’m not sure why I like drinking watermelon more than eating it.

Thursday night I took Mum to Outback Steakhouse. Erin got me a gift card for my birthday to use next time I was donating and it was perfect! I had so much leftover and ate it for two other meals. Their margarita flight was dang good too. Pretty sure not a lot of alcohol but still good.

Friday, after work, I donated and got a free beach towel. I was the last one there and felt awkward that they were all waiting for me.

I went to Mallory’s after where we updated each other about life and then took selfies. We had the best cheap wine and ate dinner when John came home. We ordered from Fuji Sushi Restaurant and it was surprisingly good and they give a lot!

We had brownies and ice cream afterward while watching Netflix. There’s a scene that’s famous on TikTok and we took a gander and boy was it a gander. If you’re wondering, Sex/Life, Episode 3 around 19:50. NSFW.

Saturday I went to Shabu Town with Mum and June after debating for almost an hour on getting Indian food. Hoping I can get some of that in soon. It’s been a while!

I’ve been having a lot of doggie time since Kato and Bruno stayed all week while Sissy & BIL were out of town. Rizzo was giving me a lot of cuddles weirdly enough and I took him up on the offer. We even went on a two hour walk. He was dying but we did it! I was going to take him again today but it was 91 degrees — but with the humidity, it felt like 101. Okay, thanks mother nature.

With no kids around, I was able to finish four puzzles this week. Only 500 pieces each so super easy but no missing pieces!

I was sick that I couldn’t do stickers and give Emmy her surprise so I had to do it Monday morning.

i ordered Poblanos for lunch Monday and Mum made congee for me that night. I had to take two days of sick days but they were worth it. I wasn’t able to move much. Luckily it wasn’t covid!

Timothy brought over some donuts and we had hot pot Saturday night.

Wednesday, I took Mum to her last eye appointment for her cataract surgery. Things are good there.

I took Dad to his CT scan Friday. Super quick and was able to go back to work asap.

The rainy day picture makes me happy.

I worked so much Friday that I had plans to go to Mallory’s so that Emmy could play with JJ. I felt bad. Mallory took care of her while I worked until 6:30 pm. Almost three hours! Thanks, Mallory!

It seemed all went well and everyone had fun. Mallor, Beth and I had some sparkly wine while John and Scott talked.

Emmy and I left and visited Jasmine and Katrina for a bit before heading home. Emmy was so tired but loved that she had a lot of play time with everyone.

There were other days that Katrina and Jasmine came over to play. Those were Emmy’s favourite days.

I like the picture where both kids are looking at me. Ethan looks like he’s mean mugging hard but if you look closely, he’s gripping that Elsa doll real well.

i made some tshirts for the little ones for Katrina’s birthday party coming up. Joanna wanted them to go off their Chinese zodiac signs. My favourite is the chicken and the pigs.

Emmy has been KILLING it all week on her chore chart. She’s even been doing her eye drops various times a day. So proud of her!!

One more week until they all go home. I’m not sure if I’m happy or sad.

A lot of Emmy and Ethan time this week. It has been tough trying to work while having the kids running around crazy, screaming, and non-stop talking while I’m in meetings. But overall, it has been a bit rewarding getting to have a little break and having their smiles and laughter.

I find I don’t know how to walk away from the the computer unless I had a real reason else I’d just keep working. It does help that meetings weren’t as crazy this week since we were able to churn out the necessary stuff for our team to do their planning sessions.

Emmy and I continued our daily walks with Rizzo. She’s found some surprises along the way and I was able to shoot one of my favourite pictures in a long time where she’s squatting with Rizzo.

Friday, June and I were off. Since I had to return things we made an outing to the mall. I bought her a shirt and a dress from Target as well as Starbucks drinks for everyone. She made a joke, “Look, I do like mommy!” Exhibit the picture of her holding a Target bag and Starbucks. Don’t worry, she didn’t have my green tea drink. She has a pink drink that she chugged within 10 minutes.

I bought her a happy meal and pretzels and headed home. She took a WONDERFUL nap afterward.

I bought a Prunus J-110 radio. I’m loving the old school look and now Mum is jealous and wants one. Rizzo for size. It’s so cute!

I’ve been doing a chore chart with Emmy which you’ll see down below. I guess Rizzo felt he was doing a dang good job being my little baby and deserved a star since they found him with a star on his nose. Boop! So cute.

He has also felt neglected and felt the need to let me know — hence the last picture. My whittle baby!

Saturday morning, I took Emmy to Krispy Kreme as a treat. Then Sissy came over and we did friendship bracelets. Emmy made one for herself, her mum and her dad. Sissy made one for herself. And I made one for Rizzo and I to wear. Rizzo’s isn’t fully complete since we ran out of string so it’s just on an elastic for now. We ordered food from AJI Ramen as well.

We had hot pot that night and a lot of play time. We did forts in the playpen and spelling and A LOT of dancing.

Today Emmy and I made bread. It’s a bit denser than it should be since someone added a bit too much flour. I won’t name who. But it didn’t come out horrible! The kids actually love it and has eaten A LOT of it. We also took Emmy to Costco and got her an ice cream to share with me.

As mentioned above, Emmy’s Chore Chart. Mostly if she listens to others, share with others, finish her food and clean up, etc. she’ll get a star. Then at the end of the week, I’ll surprise her with a present. She got some Frozen toys and an egg that hatches in a few days.

It’s been an eventful (tiring) week. This week is a three day work week. I’m ready!
