Holocaust Museum

December 19, 2011 by Mellie Dee Leave a Comment

I went to the Holocaust Museum on November 30th. I learned a lot.

A survivor of the Holocaust came and talked to us. I feel real blessed to have heard her story, thanks to her son. Her son had cancer and just before he passed away, he begged his mum to write and tell her story so that their future grandchildren will remember it.

Sorry .. blurry picture from my camera! That’s me, Holocaust survivor (Rose?), and Kim.

It was a small museum but VERY educational. That’s what they wore when they were imprisoned in the camps.

We were told we could go out on the balcony to check out two sculputres. My friend Andy here thought this was the door to go.

He was wrong. Locked to the maxx. It’s just a funny picture/memory. Smile with tongue out

I’m not too sure what the one on the left is a sculpture of but the one on the right is a lady behind the barbed wire and she sees a butterfly on the outside. The butterfly is in color signifying freedom. It’s a really good piece.

I’m thankful for having a chance to come here and learning so much. Open-mouthed smile

Then we went to Habanero’s. That’s a lot of burritos … but it wasn’t all of it. We had the Leadership Challenge class from college as well as high school. Mmm so yummy! There was also queso and chips on the table.

All free.

Score! Smile

Almost Done!

These pills, Rhodiola 110, that I said I took last night … they really work.

There is Vitamin C, some kind of root, Greet Tea Extract, and spinach and whatnot in them.

I popped one in and worked for two hours without stopping. So boosted my mental and physical performance!

I got a lot of work done.

Right now I’m studying for more Finance, popped one in and got a lot of work done.

It feels good.

Let’s just hope I get a good grade on this final.

I cannot wait for 10am. That is when I’ll be done with finals! (Unless I finish earlier.)

My plan was to go to Dallas for my cousin, Joanna’s, graduation ceremony. But it starts at 4pm. 5 hour drive? Yep. Either I end up making it RIGHT on time, or I don’t make it at all. So why bother …

So I’m thinking a 5 hour nap instead.

But I doubt it. We shall see.

Study Break

December 15, 2011 by Mellie Dee 2 Comments

I only have one more final I have to study for: Finance.

Dreaded.

It’s on Friday. Way to end the week right?

Anyway, I started getting the munchies so I put my puffed rice cereal, milk, chia seeds, and cacao powder together.

Picture0315

Mistake. Cacao powder is kind of yucky. I resulted in throwing it away.

Like how I photoshopped words in? Yep … it was that gross.

Now I’m not so hungry.

But I still have to study.

Jenny’s mum gave me some pills, Rhodiola 110, that is suppose “To help maximize mental and physical performance …”

So Katrina took one … and I am about to, too.

Hopefully it works!

Bye! Smile

Life’s Getting Easier

December 7, 2011 by Mellie Dee Leave a Comment

I got free tickets for an early screening of New Years Eve!

It was actually a really dang good movie. I liked it way more than Valentine’s Day. Go watch it this Friday!

This is part of the group of people I went with but there were a lot of other people I knew there too.

Okay, now back to studying. Night everyone! Smile

Catch Up

November 28, 2011 by Mellie Dee Leave a Comment

Finally back in San Antonio.

This Thanksgiving has been a fast pace one with LOTS of traveling!

I think I spent a total of a day and a half in the car with the different cities and stores and restaurants I went to.

A recap of Thanksgiving break with some links to previous written post during the break. Open-mouthed smile

On Tuesday afternoon, I got out of class and Jenny and I left to Dallas. We were stuck in traffic and finally made it six hours later. Had pho and chilled a little with her family and my brother. Then we went to bed.

On Wednesday, I woke up to Jenny’s sister, Sammi, knocking on the door wanting to watch Cyberbully so we did. Then we got ready left the house at around 2pm with my brother, Jenny, Tammy, Sammi, and their mum. We went and ate at Doan Restaurant, shopped at some mall, then went and ate at Mr. Wok for my brother’s birthday. We played a board game after dinner. Fun stuff!! Quelf. Y’all should check that out!

On Thursday, Thanksgiving day, the brother and I drove bright and early to Houston. No traffic so it was PERFECT. I’m thankful for many things but there were a few I mentioned. We had my sister’s boyfriend and his roommate over. It was great fun with lots of laughter. We also played Quelf. Seriously, go check it out!

On Friday, it was my Mum’s birthday as well as Black Friday. I went to eat dim sum with the Grandma, Uncle, and cousin, as well as with my family. Then we walked around to many places to buy things. I bought a lot of stuff online that night. The family and I went to a buffet place to celebrate mum’s birthday. Then we went home and played card games.

On Saturday, the brother and I drove back to Dallas bright and early. Again, no traffic. We went to In-n-Out with Jenny and Tammy then walked around the mall. I even bought some cute booties!! We then all took a nap before getting ready and heading to The Ranch for my brother and Tammy’s birthday dinner with their friends. Afterward we went to J.Black’s and Barcadia, two bars. It was a lot of fun and I met a lot of people! Brother, Jenny, Tammy, and I got home around 2:30am and opened all the presents people gave them and stayed up talking until 5am! Ridiculous huh?

On Sunday, we all woke up around 11am?, got ready, and ate lunch with their parents and Sammi at a Chinese place. Yum! Then we went back to their house and packed up to leave. We were stuck in the car for 8 hours due to traffic. I even watched The Help in the car because I was so bored. We finally made it to Austin to drop off Tammy, and San Antonio for Jenny and I.

It’s definitely been a lot of traveling but it was worth it being with family, meeting new people, and eating great foods!

I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving as well!! Christmas, I’m waiting for you! Winking smile
