I Love Reading

June 24, 2012 by Mellie Dee 4 Comments

Melissa’s Lone Book Club

I love reading. Love Love Love. And I recently got into the swing of it again.

I finally finished The Hunger Game Trilogy. The third book was very hard to read but I continued since I already finished the first two books and was almost halfway done with the third. I must say, the ending was horrible. Used to wrap up the whole story. I was very disappointed in the last book. Horrible!

I’ve already finished another book upon finishing that horrible book on Saturday night. UnEnchanted: An Unfortunate Fairy Tale by Chanda Hahn. I really loved this book. Obviously … if I finished it so quickly. There’s more than one book and I cannot wait to find the next ones. Check it out. It’s a VERY easy read. I think it’s written for Juniors. Sometimes I still think I’m a kid.

I’m already on my third book Get Bunny Love by Kathleen Long.

Pictures for Fun

New purse … for Hong Kong fun.

2012-06-23 12.59.01

I’m pretty sure every family is like so. My family needs this.

Sissy and I bought some makeup stuff from E.L.F.: Eyes Lips Face Who shops there? Sometimes cheap things are the best.

I’m in love with the Matte Nail Polish! It changes WHATEVER color nail polish you want to matte. So gorgeous!

Everyone needs a picture of themselves on every blog post. No? Oh … well. Too bad. I must say … Instagram makes you 100% better looking.

Went to Whole Foods Market with mum and June. Ate there. I shared a Broccoli Cheese Soup with mum and got my own yummy box of goodness. I finally got to try quinoa. And I love it! I cannot wait to make my own one day. Gotta research first!

Also got 2 for $6 boxes of chocolates! Yum! Dark chocolate love! And also snagged some green bean and carrot chips!

Workout

I took a day off yesterday. Whoops poopsie!

But I still broke a sweat!

45 min cardio

Donezo!

San Antonio in a few days and Hong Kong in a little over a week! Eeep!

Pushing Through

What I Want Wednesday

Aquala Bamboo Bath Caddy | $79.95

I am sure there are cheaper ones but this just looks so cool with the wine glass holder and what not. If I were to take baths this is what I’d do. Except instead of a real book, it’ll be my Kindle Fire.

Hopefully it won’t fall in the water. That would be a bummer. I never understood people that read in their baths … doesn’t your book get wet?!

“Wake Up and Run” Off the Shoulder Girly Sweatshirt | $38

Obviously I don’t “Wake Up and Run” but this is still cute. Love off the shoulder sweatshirts. Need to work on my shoulders and arms before wearing something like this though!

Workout

30 min cardio
Arm: 5 lb. weight, 3 sets of 12

– Slow Burn Bicep Curls
– Pushups
– Tricep Extensions
– Shoulder Presses
Ab: 3 sets
– Plank – 45 sec hold
– Leg Raises – 15
Leg: 3 sets
– Forward Lunges – 15 left, 15 right
– Squats – 12
– Wall Sits – 35 sec hold
– Toe Raises – 15

It’s been hot in my house … and this didn’t make it any better. Sweat. Sweat. Sweat.

This workout plan is getting tough because I’m getting lazy. But I’m still pushing through.

Need motivation …

10 more days … why would I quit now?!

Blogging Is Boring?!

June 19, 2012 by Mellie Dee 8 Comments

Workout

45 min cardio

I was going to run outside with Rocky. And by run, I mean as far as my legs can get me before I have to start jogging or walking.

But the rain thunder and lightening stopped me. So I resulted in jogging in place, jumping jacks, and butt kicks as my cardio instead.

Done.

Blogging = Boring

I told a friend of mine that I’ve spend my day watching telly shows and blog. And by blogging, I mean sitting here reading other people’s blogs, commenting, and writing my own. Simple but time consuming. But to me super fun.

But she thinks it’s the most boringest (yes, that’s a word in my dictionary) thing ever. She didn’t mean it in a rude way but it kind of hurts.

(via)

Well, baby, you’re wrong and you’ve hurt my feelings. Unless you are a blogger, you won’t understand the joy of blogging. Simple as that.

I’m not saying all I do is sit here on the computer or sit and watch shows. I go out. I work out. I clean. I see my family (everyday) and friends (from time to time). And I have fun.

This is a reason why I don’t tell people (and her) about my blog. They know I have one, but they don’t know how to find me. Only a select few know.

Don’t ever let someone’s words stop you from doing what you love. Be yourself. You don’t have to fit in.

I’m going back to my blog reading and commenting.

I do what I want!

Memory Lane

June 17, 2012 by Mellie Dee 1 Comment

Whoops. I did not know that it was already 1am!

I’ve been so busy all day!

And I’m sad to say I missed my workout. But since Sunday is my rest day, I’ll just make it up then instead. So I actually didn’t miss my workout?

IMG_20120616_123359

Anyway, we went and ate at Spring Creek Barbeque. It was rainy, rainy. Bleugh. Then came home and relaxed.

2012-06-16 18.07.43

Went to Macy’s to buy Alyssa’s Wedding gift. I bought two pair of shoes as well … whoops.

2012-06-16 17.49.35

My sissy and I have been talking about sparkly canvas shoes. Found some but they were not cute! And expensive …

Then it was time for dinner time. Since we were celebrating Father’s Day all day, we went to a Le Lai Restaurant. Funky. We went here last year for Father’s Day too. New tradition? ha

IMG_20120616_200713

Who eats lobster’s head? Don’t tell me I’m the only one!

IMG_20120616_190320

We came home and had Homemade Pie. My sissy made it. I piped on the words. Easy Peasy Lemon Squeezy!

Afterward was cleaning time. By then it was already 10pm but I just had the urge to continue cleaning. My room is starting to look like a room again. Here’s to hoping everything will be done soon!

Just some things I found while cleaning.

2012-06-17 01.09.49

Packet of old Basketball stuff … when I use to be a baller. HAHA

2012-06-16 23.17.14

Old school projects … when VHS was popular. Can you believe that was only like 7 years ago?

2012-06-16 23.25.122012-06-17 00.57.54

Old love notes. The one on the left is getting married this upcoming year … we are growing up too fast!

And the one on the right is not into girls anymore. Yep.

These are only a few of many love notes I got. Yeah. I brought all the boys to the yard.

Just kidding …

2012-06-16 23.49.13

Found a card that my sissy never sent her friend. That made me laugh so loud!

2012-06-16 23.57.50

The 1st generation IPod. That I don’t use anymore because it’s all kinds of messed up. Hello ITouch … that is about to be all kinds of messed up as well.

2012-06-17 00.46.36

Long expired. But if you trust me, I’ll still try to save your life. Just make sure not to let your family sue me if you die.

2012-06-17 00.46.55

I would get little comics from this one guy. I loved them. Some were gruesome though.

2012-06-17 00.56.52

Found notes/letters written to me from all the way back from 2000! Old sauce! This was when we were in like fifth grade. Stacks and stacks of notes. Now everything is text. How sad.

2012-06-17 01.05.16

Oh you know … when Pokemon was popular!

But yeah. Enough with memory lane. I’ll go back there the rest of the week as I clean. I have SO much stuff I’m donating, recycling, and throwing away.

Big hoarder right hurr!

Forever Alone

June 16, 2012 by Mellie Dee Leave a Comment

Isn’t it sad how I can sit here writing a card to this boy for his birthday and all I can do is get teary eyed teardrops in my eyes because it brings back memories. Good and bad memories.

Pisses me off because it fogs up my eyesight and then I cannot see what I’m writing anymore. Ugh. Stop being a crybaby, Melissa!

I realized that he has made a difference in my life even though we’ve only known each other for a little over half a year. And now because of the distance, I lost my person to lean on. But no matter how much I wish things could be different between us, it won’t ever be because we’re both too shy to speak up. Or at least, that’s what I think it is. That or maybe he’s not a fan of long distance. Who knows.

Anyway, I have his gift ready to go! And when I go visit SA at the end of the month, I’ll stick it in his hands and make a run for it. It’s awkward for me when people open their gifts I give them in front of me.

And it’ll be awkward when they read that card where all I do is praise him. haha

****

We’re celebrating Father’s Day today since my sissy has work Sunday. Update on that later.

Happy Saturday!
