The Worst Crawfish I’ve Ever Had

Yesterday after work I finally had a chance to meet up with Ed for some crawfish and catch up. He met me in the parking lot of the supermarket (LA Crawfish is nestled inside) and practically took me by surprised with his aqua dyed hair and colorfully painted nails. I asked why the change and he replied with “It’s summer.”

We ordered our crawfish and potatoes adding shrimp and corn to mine. I will have to say that this is hands down the worst crawfish I’ve had in my life. Both the crawfish and shrimp were overcooked and started having that decaying texture. We suspect they let the crawfish sit in the pot until someone ordered to keep it hot and more than I hoped to see were dead before they were cooked.

The only thing I have no qualms about are the potatoes and corn. Those were perfectly made. Regardless, I won’t ever be coming back here and it makes me weary to try any other LA Crawfish places.

After eating he and I walked around the supermarket grabbing all the junk food we could find. That doesn’t usually happen to me after a meal so that goes to show how unsatisfied and horrible LA Crawfish was.

Then he went with me to return things at postmark and DSW. We stopped by Starbucks since I get a free drink on my birthday and they were having half off fraps. We went back home and lounged around before heading over to Gordon’s. This was also the time Scruffy held Emmy for the first time ever. I loved seeing him interact with her.

Gordon decided to throw Mother’s day at his house – potluck style. Even after stuffing our faces we ended up with a lot of leftovers.

Mabel works at Tea Bar and knew it was my birthday and made me a milk tea with tapioca. It was extremely sweet but delicious. I tend to dislike big tapioca balls in my drink but these were the perfect consistency.

Sadly I’ve only been able to find it in Hong Kong. Anyone live in Hong Kong that wants to send some my way? I’ll be your best friend.

The next morning, Mother’s Day, the siblings and I made breakfast for the family. June helped since we video chatted PoPo and Kathy overseas to see the baby. Afterward, I took a long nap.

I am extremely proud of myself for this meal prep because it was so gorgeously plated and because I’m using the glassware Scruffy got me for my birthday. Guys, this is such a simple meal to make but so freaking good.

Today at work Erin hands me a bag. A birthday gift! No one at work really knows my birthday so it was sweet that she remembered and got me something!

I’ve received so many masks this birthday that I’ll be maskin’ all day erry’day. I cannot wait to try them all out!

Apurva flew back to Texas for a wedding and she was generous enough to make time for me. I went and picked her up at seven in the morning and we headed to The Breakfast Klub. I could do without the waffle but the wings are to die for which is what they’re known for.

While we were catching up with them, Mum and I “fought” to hold Emmy. She is so freaking precious and I’ll forever wish she was closer so I could watch her grow up more.

Birthday Weekend Has Begun!

2017 Birthday Gift from Scruffy

Tonight Scruffy kicked off my birthday weekend with a date night. He came over after work and presented me with some goodies.

Then we traveled through traffic to make happy hour at the Conservatory. They listed all the companies that served food underground on their sign.

You don’t need to add anything to this because it was perfect just the way they made it. And the shrimp chips are one of the best I’ve had in my life. Fluffy crunch versus the usual hard crunch restaurants have.

After we were done getting our drank on (happy hour ended), we headed to Saltgrass Steakhouse. This place was a little shady and small but the service and food was not.

Everything hit the spot and we both had so much left over. We were in and out before we know it and headed to Kendra Scott to get my fifty percent off jewelry. I picked a pretty blue one that they are shipping since they didn’t have any in their stores. Once we were done, he took me back home where he chilled a bit before taking Rizzo back to his house.

Early Birthday Celebration Filled with JJ

I got some quality time with JJ yesterday after work. He was kicking and flipped around on his belly when he was on the changing table so Mallory put a blanket down and he squirmed his way to the stuffed animals.

I bought Scout the Dog for him before he was even born wondering when he would be able to play with it. At six month’s he’s already grabbing and giving it kisses. I wish he’d stay small forever.

After dinner we checked out Springfree Trampoline since Mallory was looking into getting one. Then a stop at Nothing Bundt Cake to pick up my free birthday bundt which I gave to Mallory.

I also told her I had a 25% off at Beau Kisses so we ventured in to see if there was anything to get and landed on this cowboy hat for kids. JJ was in love with it and kept trying to bite it. So freaking adorable.
