Heights Houston with Erin

Hickory Hollow | Houston, Texas | Chicken Fried Steak with Erin

I met Erin at her place after work where we caught up for a few hours before heading to Hickory Hollow. John was working so she ended up bringing him food back. The chicken fried steak are the size of our faces and then some. I wouldn’t say this is the best I’ve ever had. Probably The Black Bear Diner beats them with their thick juicy steak where the breading doesn’t fall off.

Waiting for the Train to Pass

As we were walking back to her apartment and me to my car we got stopped. The train literally started right as we were about to cross. We couldn’t believe our luck. Fortunately it was only less than ten minutes long and didn’t stop like it usually does.

[2018] 352/365: Heights Houston

The view from their rooftop parking. It is so gorgeous but with the tracks being so close I wouldn’t want to live here. Loudness and always getting stuck. No bueno. But the view …

I’m hoping to move out in the next year but we’ll see how things go.

Milk Cow Houston | Katy, Texas

Whataburger with Joel

After work I volunteered to take Joel home since it looked as if it was going to rain. We stopped by Whataburger since I haven’t eaten and he talked about his relationship woes before I dropped him off.

[2018] 348/365: Milk Cow Houston

Mum’s coworker’s son opened up Milk Cow Houston in Katy and we decided to stop by. I was surprised at how light and fluffy it was! And it was nice to talk to the son and the family.

Fish City Grill with Mum

Since I hadn’t had dinner Mum joined me at Fish City Grill before going home. We overdosed on oysters. I was a but sad that the bluepoints were not fatty enough.

It’s been a long week and I’m glad I have a weekend of chill. Here’s to sleeping in all day and night!

Morton’s Steakhouse

Starbucks with Natalie

The day started with a brief walk to Starbucks with Natalie. We both got grande creme brulee latte and it was hella sweet even when we downed it to three pumps instead of the usual five.

[2018] 345/365: Morton’s Steakhouse

Work went by fairly fast since I had meetings with vendors and a lunch with my contract company person … Finally. After seven months we finally had our first lunch and catch up.

Morton’s Steakhouse hit the spot and my tummy was very full and happy. Their lobster bisque has a kick to it and it’s actually one of my favourites ever. Their steak was heavenly per usual. I actually took a picture of his cheesecake since I wanted mine to packed away. I gave that to someone in the office instead since it seemed they needed some happy.

Big Daddy's Ass Burn Hot Sauce

My boss’s boss gave away hot sauce that his friend makes and sells. I picked the spiciest because … Why not? I cannot wait to try it except I am not sure what to eat it with. Suggestions?

Jollibee

[2018] 341/365: Jollibee

Work went by fairly fast and soon enough Noah and I went and got delicious Jollibee. Mostly because after that first encounter I needed to know if this really is the best fried chicken. The answer is yes – as long as you get the spicy!

I bought so much so I could take if home to my family and they all agreed it’s the best! Y’all are winning, Jollibee, but can you open more locations in Houston? Kthanks.

P.S. How cute are their Christmas bucket design? So festive.

Good Deed of the Day

[2018] 336/365: Good Deed of the Day

It’s been a lazy weekend but when June mentioned her coworker helps her family and others by a fundraiser for the people back in Vietnam, I jumped to join her. Partly because food was involved. They were selling set pho bowls and congee with pigs blood for ten dollars each. We went and brought back four phos and one congee to have with my parents.

Everything tasted better than I thought it would and I wouldn’t mind going out for another bowl or two again since they do this pretty often. To do a good deed is always a good feeling but being fed just makes it that much better. I understand now why people pay (over) a hundred dollars a plate at galas for fancy foods.
