Eli Young Band, Double Date, and Seafood Boil

April 10, 2022 by Mellie Dee Leave a Comment

Gringo's | Eli Young Band at Wildcatter's | Mallory, Leah & Wes

April 1st

Mallory and Leah had plans to see Eli Young Band and ended up with free tickets and invited me to join. We met up with Leah and Wes at Gringos for dinner before heading to Wildcatters. He played a lot of newer songs but us oldies wanted the .. oldies. It was still fun though and loved the open space concert location.

Frankenstein and I had a video chat afterwards to pin down transportation for our upcoming trip. I cannot wait for our adventure!

Double Date | Frankenstein, Sebastian, & Paige | Harold's & Jeni's | Houston, Texas

April 2nd

Frankenstein and I had a double date with Sebastian and Paige. Our significant others meeting for the first time! We met at Harold’s for dinner and nonstop conversation. The food is as I remember from Houston Restaurant Week. It’s okay but not good for the cost. We headed to Jeni’s for ice cream afterwards and when I walked in, I almost choked on the sweetness. The ice cream was very delicious though and I loved that they give you a tiny wedge of waffle cone.

It’s crazy how Sebastian and I were only acquaintances in high school and only saw each other years and years later on a mutual friend’s television show. Now we are friends meeting each other’s people.

Free Ice Cream at Work, Homemade Enchilada Bowls, Shogun, Local Table

April 5th

I finally went back to work! And they were giving out free ice creams. Two days a week isn’t too bad. People are draining though. I haven’t napped since I worked from home on weekdays but I definitely did the two days I worked in the office. Sigh. My eczema got worse too but not 100% sure if it’s due to that. But I’ll do anything to blame being back.

I also made the laziest enchiladas ever. You can’t really call it that so I’ll call them enchilada bowls. I also had good eats from Shogun and Local Table. Not pictured: Thaicoon.

Chelsea & Mellie Dee | Mike's Seafood | Houston, Texas

April 8th

I finally had lunch with Chelsea! We’ve been wanting to do a one on one in so long but life keeps hitting us. It was amazing seeing her and catching up from family, friends and work.

We met at Mike’s Seafood on Hwy 6 and each got Platter A (snowcrab, shrimp, crawfish, mussels, potato’s, corn). The flavour was good but Yummy still wins out. But there’s a sauce served here called Mike’s sauce that won out. That paired with Yummy Seafood will definitely hit the spot.

I ordered a dozen oysters and she ordered boudin balls. The oysters were mostly huge. There were a few tiny ones which was a bummer. She was not a fan of her boudin balls and didn’t even eat them.

Mellie Dee Makeup Palette Testing

I bought new makeup to play with since the ones I had were old and needed replacing. I am also continually on a hunt to find makeup that is easy to travel with where it isn’t super bulky. I think I’ve found some winners! It didn’t come out horrible but it still needs help. Is anyone a pro? Help?

Rizzo Walks | Frankenstein & Artemis

I’ve been taking Rizzo on walks and a new section of the park opened up. It’s my new favourite way since there’s way less foot traffic so I get more peace. Rizzo is still a trooper even with the giant nose bump.

Frankenstein and Artemis made it in here because I missed their faces and got this cute shot back. Cannot wait to see them this weekend!

Homemade Honey & Lemon Face Masks

March 22, 2020 by Mellie Dee Leave a Comment

On our last trip to Dallas, June and I went to Diasio and found individually wrapped compressed face masks and towels. I figure I’d test them out and if they’re good, they’d be perfect for traveling!

2020 | Coronavirus Quarantine | Honey Lemon Face Mask | Mellie Dee & Rizzo

I finally tested out the compressed face mask today. That tiny disk ended up soaking all the honey, lemon and water solution I made while I took a quick shower and washed my face. 10 minutes of watching Suits as my face soaked up the goodness. I washed my face, put on my usual nighttime face routine and tried to take a picture with Rizzo. #nofilter He was more interested in licking my face hence me sticking my tongue out because apparently many dogs don’t like that. I’m certain I didn’t get all the honey off … Whoops.

Anyway, my skin is now baby butt smooth and I’m excited about this new life. So much cheaper than buying all the masks and using things I have around the house is a plus! Quarantine life isn’t TOO bad.

Origins Skincare

Meatballs and Spaghetti by Mallory and Beth

Work went by pretty quick, mostly because everyone knew I was catching up on work and didn’t want to bother me. I left and headed to Mallory’s after not seeing her for a whole entire week! She made meatballs and Beth mad spaghetti.

JJ was so loving. I got hugs, kisses and so much more. I guess I need to be away more so that he’ll give me sweetness and not so much salt.

Origins Skincare Haul from San Diego

I came home to my splurge from the San Diego trip. Origins skincare. Amy and I bought different things that fit our needs and she has been using hers since she checked her bag in. I just put on a few things and already love it! Everything smells so damn good!

June asked why I didn’t buy the bigger serum that costs over $100 so I told her I was waiting for her to get it for me for my birthday. She looked at me and walked away. Haha

If you’re ever in San Diego, go look for Megan. She is so attentive and caring and does not push you to get anything! She even gave me a free entire eye cream that I wanted but didn’t want to spend too much!

Skin Care, Foodie, & Parktime

December 23, 2018 by Mellie Dee Leave a Comment

Sissy came over this morning and we all ordered IHOP takeout for breakfast. Afterward we played with Emmy for a while before Sissy, June and I headed to the new skin care store.

Tony Moly Haul

We thought they were connected since they technically are but you pay separately. Me and June’s haul. The Panda’s Dream from Tony Moly is one of my favourites! It really does make me feel a little more awake.

It's Skin Haul

I bought the two blue products from It’s Skin. The rest are June’s. Pore tightening serum and moisturizing mist. I just used both of these tonight and so far I’m feeling refreshed.

Beard Papa's | Katy, Texas

We stopped by Beard Papa’s, a place we’ve been dying to try. They are adorable but also costly. Each one costs almost $4!

Beard Papa's | Katy, Texas | Christmas Theme

They kept some festivity going with the sprinkles so they get some points there. As for taste, they’re not my favourite. We all agreed it’s not something we would ever crave and to be truthful I felt they tasted pretty much the same. We got vanilla creme in all of them but each shell is a different flavour.

Yan Tea | Katy, Texas

Mum wanted us to take some boba back home to her so I got a Hazelnut Milk Tea from Yan Tea for myself. Verdict? Too sweet and way too much ice. More than half of my drink was ice! I was very disappointed since it’s not cheap at all! Definitely not coming back here especially because they were so disorganized.

2018 | 357/365 | Photoshoot at the Park

[2018] 357/365: Photoshoot at the Park

A quick picture I snapped while the whole family went to the park. It was such a nice afternoon so it was perfect.

Photoshoot in the Park | Side Hustle

Brudda was going all out on his photography skills so I helped by holding a giant flash all around the park. Feeling a little important but mostly ridiculous.

Sleeping Rizzo Cuddles

Rizzo was so happy I was finally home and has not left squished next to me wherever I am. Sleepy baby.

Makeup Fun

2018 | 332/365 | Playing with Makeup

[2018] 332/365: Playing with Makeup

Guys … I fogot how much I missed playing with makeup. I stopped when Scruffy would tell me I looked fine without it.

But man oh man. Did y’all know they sell BH Cosmetics at Ulta? I had a huge eyeshadow palette from the same company and always loved it. I went to get my brows done and came out with a new one – 15 eyeshadows, 3 highlighters and 3 bronzers. I am already in love with it and wished I wasn’t so poor. I would have bought a few more. It just might be my new travel buddy!

Now I just need to fix the horrible blemishes and spots on my face and I’d be golden. Left is with a filter and what I wished my skin would look like. Right is without a filter but with makeup on using the new palette. You can’t see it well because my lighting sucks but it looks much better in person. Now I just need to grow some eyelashes.

Sigh, cannot wait for tomorrow. I got a BB Cushion during Black Friday shopping and I’m hoping it is good enough to add to my daily routine. Fingers crossed.
