I cannot believe Christmas is THIS week. I haven’t wrapped anything but I scheduled that for Tuesday night. And I’m still deciding if I want to bake anything as well since it’s been forever since I’ve baked. But I’ll have to find someone to gobble them up.
December 9th: I had my last group mentor session. We had a lunch party at the work’s restaurant and we all expected it to be meh … but it was surprisingly very good. Filet mignon. Mmmm … Then we showered her with gifts. She has taught me a lot that can be used in the professional world but also for the personal life world. I’m still trying to get to the point where they come naturally but at the moment it’s still a struggle for me. It sucks that she’s leaving us for the New Orleans office but knowing she’s an email away if we ever need her helps.
December 11th: I promised Mallory I’ll write about this in the blog although it is a couple weeks late. I accompanied her to shop for Christmas gifts. She treated me to a Teavana cold drink. It’s grapefruit or something. I don’t really remember. But if you’re a noob like me, here’s something I learned. You can use your Starbucks gift card here. Cool huh?
We walked around a bunch and bought them gifts then headed off to dinner … happy hour. We passed by the new water park that’s being built! Typhoon Texas Waterpark. It opens in May of 2016 and I jokingly asked if we could go here for my birthday and of course she said yes. Not too certain if I’d actually go here for my birthday especially since it’ll have just opened meaning lots of people … crowds. Yuck.

Sake bombs, Sushi tower, and sushi, friend rice, and hand roll. I don’t even remember what we talked about because it was just a bunch or random things meshed together. We finally left when John called to say he was hungry. Whoops.
December 12th: Mallory had a coworker who was celebrating his birthday at Midnight Rodeo on the 12th and since I wanted to keep my mind off of things, she invited me along. I met most of her coworkers and they are all hilarious. We just mostly drank and made fun of people with a few dancing sprinkled here and there. My favourite picture of Mallory, John, and I. Sadly it’s all dark but you can see how happy John is to be there.
December 13th: I met at Melissa Z.‘s apartment near the Galleria. Yes. We have the same name. Yes. It’s weird when I say it. We were in orchestra together in high school and this was the first time we officially hung out with one another. Alyssa was suppose to show up as well but she couldn’t make it. Yes … our names are all the same. Yes. It’s super confusing sometimes. I brought two bottles of wine, one red, one white since I wasn’t sure which one she would like, and in return she ordered us Thai food. YUM! We were just chatting up at storm for a good 4 hours. We decided we needed to do it more often and hopefully Alyssa can make it next time.
December 18th: I tagged along with Apurva to pick up her brother from UT Austin. We chilled a little upon arriving to her brother’s place then walked over to Plucker’s for dinner. We talked about our love lives which I was surprised he was so openly sharing because the last few times I saw him, he was quiet and shy. College definitely opened him up.
We were going to head to the Trail of Lights but our lame butts didn’t want to look for parking so we detoured to Gourdough’s instead. It’s funny because I’ve been wanting to try this place so many times before and could never make it. I got the Black Out and well … I would say, it’s all hype. Not so great. Too much sweet. But then again, I’m not a lover of desserts. I tried to scrape all the chocolate off and just eat the doughnut which isn’t bad. It’s a crunchy outer with a chewy inner. If I ever end up here again I’d probably just order a savory one instead.
We went to the store to stock up the fridge with dranks. Since he likes Shiner I recommended he go with the Family pack to see what he likes. Because of that they wanted me to tell them which other ones were good so I just named off some that I would buy. Hopefully he finds something he likes.
It was a trip of literally eating and picking up her brother but I didn’t mind. I like mini trips to just get away from town. I hope if I ever end up with someone, they’ll be willing to do something like this.
Upon coming home, I found packages and thank you cards in the mail. Always makes me so joyous.
December 19th: I had a bunch of things I wanted/needed to get done on this day but when you’re in pain, you’re in pain. I literally just stayed in bed and cuddled with Rizzo while watching who knows what. Later that night, I took Mum out to Sushihana and we rented a movie to watch at home. I am in love with raw fish lately. Not too sure why. But if anyone is willing to go eat sushi with me, let’s go!
December 20th: It was a busy morning but I finally got to relax in the afternoon. Blogging time at La Madeline’s. It was such gorgeous weather so I sat outside with a cup of coffee and a fruit tart.
I picked La Madeline’s only because next door is Ooh La La Bakery and I had plans to meet up with Amanda and Brent. Yes .. more dessert was had by someone who isn’t a dessert lover. Don’t judge me. It’s Christmas time ……….. a tiny little cannoli for moi. I got a key lime pie and a cheesecake to go for Tony and Delisha which they got Monday. Amanda and I talked for a good two and a half hours. We had so much to catch up on and once in a while Brent would chime in as he was working on his laptop. He didn’t complain once or hinted it was getting late. He just let me and Amanda have our time and that’s the best thing ever. The several times we’ve all hung out, he’s been very patient and willing to let Amanda hang out with whomever she wanted. I joked that hopefully one day there’ll be a man sitting next to him he could talk to when Amanda and I talked. Hopefully I get to see them again soon. The distance (a whole hour) is killing us. haha
And that’s what you missed on GLEE! haha jk …
