I get told I dress better when it’s my Friday off and during the weekends. Which … isn’t exactly false. Being dressed up at work makes me a little uncomfortable. Not too sure when I stopped dressing up at work but I guess I just got too comfortable and just started to look a little frumpy. But now that I notice maybe I’ll get back into it …maybe.
Friday I woke up super early and went to breakfast at Cracker Barrel with June. I surprisingly like going to Cracker Barrel for the shopping more than the food. I think the food is too greasy and it made my stomach hurt. Bleughhh. I’m done Christmas shopping for the most part but I can’t help but buy things when it reminds me of someone. This little figurine reminded me of Riz but I didn’t get it because it’s useless. But it’s cute nonetheless so a picture was well enough. Afterward we went to the mall so she could finish up her Christmas shopping.
After dropping her back home, I went and met up with Edward. He was late but I didn’t mind sitting in the cold. It’s actually one of my favourite winter things. Sit in the cold bundled up and blog or read or something with a hot cup of something in hand. He wanted to grab coffee and catch up about life and the show. So we did for a good few hours until high school let out and we couldn’t stand the little kids. He ended up going to Target with me so I could pick up a gift for Ryland. I’m proud of everything he’s doing to get his life back together and for him to go back to school and for him to find something he loves enough to not quit yet work harder every day. Seeing people you’ve known forever striving to be better makes me so freaking happy.
Saturday was the work Christmas Party at Chama Gaucha. It was just chill hang out and drinking and eating meat. Nothing too fancy. It wasn’t too cold as I’d thought or maybe because they had these fire pits everywhere outside when we were waiting for our table. I really want one in my future home. It’s so cute! And you could roast marshmallows (bleugh) and play music around it like a campfire. teehee
Ann and I. Apurva and I. Liliana was having car troubles and couldn’t make it and the other person I asked said no. 🙁 I didn’t mind going alone but I’m lucky Apurva offered to be my plus one since I haven’t seen her in almost 3 months. It gave us a chance to catch up and talk about a lot of random things.
You can’t see the bottom of my dress in the picture so here it is … Ann had asked me what I was wearing to the party and she didn’t believe me when I told her it was an easy access dress until I sent her this photo. It’s actually one of my favourites with the way it cuts like that. I didn’t realize how short it really was until I sat down. Whoops. But I was happy I finally got to wear this dress. I’ve been wearing dresses and shorts so much in Hong Kong that I miss it coming home. You’d think I’d wear more to work but … nah.
Sunday was Ryland’s 5th birthday party a few months late. This kid is going to grow up uncertain of his day of birth. haha But it was nice to see everyone and catch up. This is one of the best well behaved kids I’ve ever met and I hope he stays that way. So far he still likes me so I wouldn’t give up hanging out with him for anything.
I went to the studio tonight and it was amazing how many new crew members we have! I’m only the “consulting producer” as Edward calls me but it was nice getting to work on the control board and help with the airing. I don’t know if I’ll be going every time like I did past seasons, but they know I’ll help them out whenever they need it.
I can’t believe Christmas is almost here. What days should I take off?!
