Friday, August 14th
Packed and ready to head to Dallas. John and Katie picked me up and we went to Chinatown for lunch before heading out. The whole ride there I listened to my music and played brain games on my IPad. It was nice to not having to drive for once.
Jenny picked me up from Joanna’s and we had our catch up moment as we drove to my brother’s house. When I got there, the first thing I really wanted to do was to try out my brother’s Keurig. I’m not a crazy coffee drinker and probably drink 10 out of the year. Coolest. Thing. Ever. I heard they do teas too which is more up my alley. If I ever have my own place, I’d want one for guests.
Our first stop was to:
Meso Maya
1611 McKinney Ave
Dallas, Texas 75202

Jenny and I sent a Snapchat selfie to Travis to tell him we miss him. Our three musketeer days are over and though we always speak of having another reunion soon, we know it’s harder and harder as we live our own separate lives. When Andy and I decided he would be a perfect match for this one girl, I knew conversations with him will lessen. But knowing he’s happy makes me happy.
Chips & Dip | Free
I wish we knew what was in the dip. It was very dark brown. It wasn’t bad but I’m more of the avocado dip person which they didn’t have.
Queso Poblano [melted chihuahua cheese, creamy queso blanco, roasted poblanos, fresh corn, nopalitos] | $8
We believe this is what we got. All we told the waiter was, “Queso, please!” because they weren’t really fully digging the dip that came with the chips. I’m not a big lover of cheese and can do without it. But the other four swears this is the best queso they’ve ever had. One even wanted to lick the bowl clean because it was “that damn good!”
Carne Tacos de la Casa [2 tacos – wood-grilled marinated skirt steak romaine lettuce, tomatoes, avocado tomatillo sauce, pickled red onions, queso fresco, cilantro, with homemade soft white corn tortillas, white rice, and black beans served with habanero sauce on the side] | $13
The habanero sauce killed Sammi. I could do it in moderation. I only ate the tacos which were by far the best carne I’ve had in a while. I didn’t even touch the rice and beans since there was no choice for either other than how it usually comes. Boo.
Group of gals minus Mary who had to work. Booooooo. Silly girl took the wrong days off. HAHA
Our night and day hotel view of downtown Dallas. When we were checking in, I briefly talked about how this bachelorette party is going to be crazy … and it worked. I know it’s not going to be crazy, but sometimes when you mention things like that, they upgrade you to a suite and it worked. Whoooop!
I can’t share anymore pictures from this night. Mary finally got off work and met up with us and Sammi fell asleep around 11:30 pm. That’s when the rest of us were able to do more grown up things like … open lingerie presents and talk about inappropriate things.

We woke up and got McDonald’s for breakfast. We’re that classy.
Then we made our way to the dance studio. The lady taught us burlesque dancing and lap dancing. Being the sillies that we are, we couldn’t stop laughing – especially Sammi since she’s only 14 years old. I don’t think I will ever put these moves on anyone because it’s just too much. Well … maybe the lap dance since I’m pretty awesome at those. bahaha jk …
The only innocent picture we have. haha
On to our next destination …
La Bichette
6405 Hillcrest Ave
Dallas, Texas 75205
(214) 520-3500
http://labichette.com
La Bichette is a place where they wash and style your hair and put makeup on your face. A lot of people apparently come here before parties and weddings.
Above is our group shot of before and afters.
My before, during, and after.
Before is my everyday going out look. If you take off the bottom eyeliner, it’ll be my everyday look. I’m that lazy. All I need are eyebrows, top eyeliner, and mascara. During and after is with a full face of makeup where I fixed parts of my face myself after and changed clothes.
Mary, Jenny, and I being silly waiting for the others to finish up. We were there for HOURS.
I spent over $100 for the get up that will be wiped clean few hours later and personally, I would rather spend my money on something else. We spent hours there for something I could do myself for less than an hour. Does this make me sound un-girly?
We grabbed a small snack from Chick-fil-a and went back to the hotel and relaxed a bit, got ready and headed to:
Dish – Cedar Springs
4123 Cedar Springs Rd

We were lucky enough to have come here during Dallas Restaurant Week which donates to the North Texas Food Bank. It was $45 for a three course meal. It sounds like a lot but was well worth it. The entree itself cost almost that much.
Avocado & Lump Crab Cocktail [fresh grated horesradish, togarishi spice, thousand island]
Best. Thing. Ever. I cannot explain how delicious this was. All I can say is that I would come back here for this … even though it’s expensive for just half an avocado. Guess the crab is what makes it cost so much.
Jumbo Driver Sea Scallops [sweet corn, bacon, poached egg, pearl couscous, citrus butter]
I rarely order seafood when I go to these kinds of restaurants. It’s always steak and potatoes. But since my stomach wasn’t feeling well, I opted for the scallops and it was the best decision ever. I didn’t finish all of my couscous and I’m starting to realize, I can’t eat like I use to since I wasn’t able to finish my food the night before either.
Fresh Berry Crisp [oatmeal topping, champagne sorbet]
Hot and cold. The oatmeal topping with the berries was amazing and all, but if they only sold the champagne sorbet by itself, that is exactly what I would order. It was so clean and refreshing.
Potted Chocolate Cheesecake [chocolate cookie crumble, edible flowers]
Mary ordered this and I had to get a picture. I tried the flower as well as the waiter and we felt all it did was get us a little hyper … but overall, everyone loved this and finished it all up, unlike the berry crisp.
Afterward, we went to a couple bars and a strip club. No pictures to show. haha To be honest, I’m not interested in big muscly guys especially if I don’t know them personally nor will I feel the way all the others who go there do. I’m more interested in their choreography if anything. And I’m always told I’m weird because of it and maybe I am. I’ve always been this way and because of this, I know I won’t be tempted or cheat if I ever end up with anyone. Does this make me more un-girly too?
Overall it was a pretty chill bachelorette which was what we were aiming for after our nights in Vegas back in December. haha ohhhh the memories.
