2nd Anniversary Presents

March 30, 2018 by Mellie Dee Leave a Comment

Jarro Truck | Tacos

Jarro Cafe lunch with the love after he dropped Luna off at my house. We’ve missed this truck so much now that we both don’t work by. Best tacos in town if you haven’t been!

2018 | 089/365 | Scruffy's 2nd Anniversary Present

[2018] 089/365: 2nd Anniversary

Scruffy and I decided to open our two year anniversary presents. I love how the wrapping paper kind in away goes with Panda. Thoughtful. <3

Scruffy's 2nd Anniversary Present Contents

I’m excited for my scratch offs. He taped a penny he found to the card. He found it after he bought the scratch offs so he believes it’s the winning penny.

2nd Anniversary Present The Five Senses

I decided to go the five senses route.

And it was a hit! He didn’t even know Rebelution’s newest cd was on pre-sale so he was super surprised.

Crawfish Boil

We went to Yassin’s for a crawfish boil. They know how to host a boil. Over 160 pounds for about 25 people … and that’s without counting the corn, potatoes, Brussels sprouts, sausage, and onions.

Crawfish Boil | Bella

They also had the cutest lab named Bella. I wanted to trade her for Luna but no one wanted to take her. Haha I’m joking though cuz I can never trade Luna.

Pot of Crawfish

Look how big their pot was!!

Garlic Butter Concoction for Crawfish Boil

His uncle made his own garlic butter concoction that was a hot. A bit on the salty side for me but not bad!

We stayed out late and partied with his crazy friends before heading back home to chill with my parents for a bit.

I’m ready to for bed. Good night y’all!

Beating the Traffic

Kim's Teahouse | Katy, Texas

This morning Joanna, Jasmine, and Katie came over to play with Rocky and Rizzo. After they left, I decided to head to Kim’s Tea house for lunch and I brought along my laptop to work on some coding exercises while chowing down.

[2018] 087/365: Pho Goodness

I’m currently at Sissy and BIL’s, spending the night since I have things to do in the morning and it feels good not having to sit in traffic.

It took us a good hour to figure out where we were going to order food from then another hour for it to be delivered so at the end it was the best pho I had in forever. Obviously, everyone knows that there are better places but we make do.

Sleepy bed time. Night, y’all!

More Coding Lessons

March 27, 2018 by Mellie Dee Leave a Comment

Quail

This is Asianized quail. Parents buy it from some grocery store already made. They look like they are little people. Sometimes, they are legs are bent more and it looks like they are kung-fu fighting. hehe

It’s SO good. Better than chicken in my opinion. Great brain fuel for when I was getting tired from studying.

2018 | 086/365 | Advance Excel

[2018] 086/365: Advanced Excel

I finished Python, started Advanced Excel and am now on SQL. I bought a Linux one to learn it was so horrible, I had to ask for a refund. Oy vey. Did I mention I have an interview coming up and I need to learn all these different ways of coding? And I don’t know anything except SQL, and even then, I need the internet for help. I’m freaking out, but I guess if I fail, at least I had a good mock interview.

P.S. Today marks two years officially with Scruffy. We aren’t able to celebrate tonight but we have something planned in the near future and I cannot wait. I’m hoping everything works out and it actually happens. Fingers crossed. Regardless, I have presents wrapped up for him already and I cannot wait for him to open them! Eeep! Happy Two Years, Hon-ay! haha

Learning Python

2018 | 085/365 | Python Online Class

[2018] 085/365: Python Online Classes

Guys, I haven’t taken a class in so long that my brain was going all crazy. Listening to someone talk constantly was a bore but thankfully this dude is energetic enough to get me going.

It’s been a good few days and I now have less than three hours left on this course until I get some fancy virtual certificate.

Then I’ll be hitting up some other courses in hopes that it’ll help me with any job searches.

Fingers crossed for me, y’all!

Home Chef | Beef & Pepper Tamale Pie

Home Chef Ingredients for Beef & Pepper Tamale Pie

[2018] 082/365: Home Chef’s Beef & Pepper Tamale Pie

I forgot to put the recipe card in the picture but you know how that could look so … let’s pretend it’s there, kcool.

Our second and last Home Chef meal was made for a late lunch.

Scruffy thought the tamale part would be made of masa but … we were duped with cornbread. So it’s pretty much like a chili with cornbread on top type of deal.

Surprisingly, not bad. I even suggested that next time Scruffy made his “famous” chili, we should put some cornbread on the leftovers the next day and make something like this.

Overall, not disappointed with Home Chef. If I was in a funk or was too lazy to go out and get the ingredients and measure them out, I’ll probably do this again. But maybe not for the price. It’s way too expensive. But this does help open doors for other meals in the future.

I want to try other meal service deliveries. Does anyone have any codes for discounts? If you want, I can send you an invite for Home Chef and we can BOTH get $30 off. At least, that’s how I understood it so …yeah.

Ashy's Haul of Spices from India

Scruffy’s parents got home from India tonight. They all had tuna sandwiches and I had a tuna salad. YUM! It was perfect with all the heavy foods we have been eating this week.

All the spices Ashy hauled back from India is pictured above. It’s so crazy but I’m so excited to make some Indian dishes!!
