Heal Up, Mama

Free Breakfast at Work

Breakfast at work was delicious as usual. Work flew by as well with great conversations with Lil-P. Soon enough I was out the door running errands.

While at work I received horrible news. Scruffy’s Grandma, Mama, fell and broke a part of her spine. I’m not too certain of all the details but they won’t be operating on her due to her age and will be giving her a brace instead. Sucks … not too sure how it’ll be but I guess time will tell.

[2018] 173/365: Pastor Tacos

Scruffy and I prepped dinner and had it ready when Ashy came back from the hospital. I used lettuce as my taco shells whole everyone else used tortillas. Everything was delicious but the jalapeño avocado salsa stole the show. It’s definitely Scruffy and I’s go to now.

We are currently all watching Please Stand By and it’s actually really good. Go check it out if you haven’t!

Snappy Salads | Houston, Texas

2018 | 172/365 | Snappy Salads | Baja Shrimp Wrap

[2018] 172/365: Snappy Salads’ Baja Shrimp Wrap

I was sitting there, minding my own business, when a secretary came up to me and asked if I wanted free food for lunch. I was hesitant since I had leftover Chipotle in the fridge but when she told me it was from Snappy Salads, I jumped at the chance. I’ve been meaning to try this place but never had the courage to. There were a couple salads and a few different wraps left on the table and I snagged a Chipotle Chicken wrap for Lil-P and a Baja Shrimp wrap for myself. I am FLOORED by how delicious it was. I am excited to order from them in the future. They have HORRIBLE reviews so I am going to omit noting them but their complaints were nothing major. Just straight pettiness.

Cravin Cajun | Crawfish and Shrimp

Work flew by and soon enough I was home and Scruffy and Luna were on their way over. Luna played with all the pups while he and I went on our crawfish and shrimp date at Cravin’ Cajun. This time it was two pounds of crawfish, two pounds of shrimp, one corn, one cup of mushrooms, and eight potatoes. I still felt it was a lot of food. Now that my appetite is a bit smaller, we’ve been trying to gauge what is the right amount of food. I tend to over order because I want to try EVERYTHING and I know I can always take it home to eat later. I’m trying to do less of that, but it’s still hard.

Tomorrow is Friday and I cannot wait! Another busy weekend but I know it’ll be worth the memories!

Downtown Houston

Dunkin' Donuts Iced Hazelnut Latte

It’s still quite hard for me to stay fully awake at work even when I sleep early! I bought a Dunkin’ Donut coffee in hopes to wake me up but as always, it never does. It tastes good while it lasted though!

2018 | 171/365 | Downtown Houston

[2018] 171/365: Downtown Houston

During a super late lunch break, I walked with the part-timer for some Chipotle and was able to see part of downtown. I haven’t walked down this way before and it was actually pretty nice to see the beauty of the buildings. It was super hot and humid and I was constantly afraid it was going to rain on us.

Chipotle Burrito Bowl

I didn’t even make a dent in this and called it a day. I cannot wait to chow down on this tomorrow. Mmm … I love burrito bowls. I’m thinking of making my own and bring it to work because they’re the best.

Time for a shower then the last episode of Grey’s Anatomy Season 14. Eeeep!

Aloha, Snow Cones

[2018] 170/365: Snow Cones at Work

Aloha, my lovelies! Today was yet another wonderful day. I loved that I had snow cones to look forward to all day. They hired Yeti Sunshine to serve us naturally organic snow cones. Pretty much, instead of syrup, they use fruit juice! I got the watermelon and strawberry. The strawberry was meh but overall, it wasn’t bad. I wouldn’t pay for it myself though.

Dinner at Scruffy's

After work, I stopped by Sissy and BILs to pick up something before heading over to Scruffy’s for dinner. We all pitched in to make dinner and it came out delicious! I wished we had more greens on the table though.

I started Grey’s Anatomy Season 14 yesterday and I’m already on the fifteenth episode! It’s comforting knowing that they’re still running after so many years. I’m going to enjoy a few more episodes before bed. Night, everyone!

I Need A Friend

2018 | 169/365 | Potbelly Lunch

[2018] 169/365: Potbelly Lunch

Work was pretty great. A lot of people were at meetings all day so I had time to get a lot of work done. I love that feeiling. I worked so hard I forgot to grab lunch. I ended up going for Potbelly. It’s Scruffy’s favorite place because he loves the pizza sandwich they have so I figured I’d try it again. I opted for the tuna sandwich and a cheddar broccoli soup. The soup was out of this world but I could feel the fatness just drowning my insides. I would get it again though because it was the bomb.

I really need to venture out because I am always uncertain where to go when I forget my food and I’m tired of eating at the same places. Sigh … I need a friend downtown. Are you down to being my friend? Need not apply, just come on down.
