Incredibles 2

PetSmart Dog Adoption

Drop off and pick up for Rizzo’s check up went by pretty fast. Scruffy went with me to pick him up and we bumped into an adoption and found this little beauty. Sadly we couldn’t take her with us. When we went to get Luna some shots, there was an adoption there as well. Poor puppies need homes. #adoptdontshop

[2018] 188/365: Movie Date

I made everyone kimchi noodle soup and Scruffy assisted in making Bulgogi and Galbi. Yum!! After our full tummies we went to see Incredibles 2 with my free tickets from last year. This was an amazing movie. Jack Jack is still my favourite character. Sadly halfway through the movie I tried to lean in for a kiss and Scruffy ended up spilling his beer all over his lap. He toughed it out and finished the movies after drying off best he could and standing on the ramp.

Now we’re going to play some board games then call it a night.

Tiger Noodle House | Katy, Texas | Xiao Long Bao Fail

Tiger Noodle House | Katy, Texas | Xiao Long Bao and Shrimp Eggroll

Scruffy came over today after work and we went to Tiger Noodle House for dinner. I’ve been here before but my whole family wasn’t a big fan. I decided to come since they have xiao long bao and I haven’t had a good one since I was in Taiwan at Ding Tai Fung. Let’s just say, this does not even compare. No soup in the dumplings, the folds for that nice chew wasn’t there either. The ginger was sliced too thick and the black vinegar tasted off. The shrimp egg rolls aren’t the best either. Overall, I’m still disappointed at this place and have decided I won’t be back until they get their act together. Everyone who reviewed and loved this place hasn’t had a real xiao long bao, you’re in for a surprise when you do one day because this wasn’t it!

[2018] 187/365: Bulgogi Fries

We went to grab some bulgogi fries just to satisfy my fried potato hunger. It hit the spot. We went home and spent time with Mum where we played three rounds of Sequence (I won!) and Scruffy and I played LIFE! (I won, too!).

Now he’s playing his golf app game while I blog but I’m heading off and we’re going to spend time watching telly until we fall asleep.

[2018] 186/365: Sleeping with Rizzo

I’ve been so busy at work today I have no pictures whatsoever. Luckily I have this throwback picture of Rizzo and I asleep a couple of nights ago at Scruffy’s. I like how we’re cuddled up with one another asleep and delighted to find this when I woke up.

2018 | 185/365 | Homemade Pizzas

[2018] 185/365: Homemade Pizzas

Sissy, BIL and some of Scruffy’s family members came over for a July 4th celebration of food, beer and conversations. We made homemade dough and some store bought ones in case they failed. Overall everyone had a good time creating their own pizzas.

Smoked Ribs and Chicken

Ashy smoked some meat as well and the chicken was ON POINT this time. Everyone seemed to like the ribs but it wasn’t smokey enough for me.

We played a couple of games before we called it a night and I headed home. I’m dreading having to drive downtown especially with all the rain. Hopefully it won’t flood.

Carb Overload

Corner Bakery | Houston, Texas | Farmer's Breakfast

Since it was Tuesday, no free breakfast, I went and grabbed my own at Corner Bakery. I was genuinely surprised that they didn’t put salt on the eggs which is a great plus for me. Funny story: one of the ladies at the place bought What-a-Burger and her manager made her put it in a Corner Bakery bag because it obviously looks bad to customers to see their own employees eating food from other places. But seriously? Who can eat the same thing every day?!

OG Tea | Sugar Land, Texas | Taro Smoothie

I went to Scruffy’s after work to start my July Fourth Festivities which is pretty much relaxing until tomorrow. I grabbed a Taro Smoothie from OG Tea when we went out to grab groceries for tomorrow.

2018 | 184/365 | Pasta Dinner

[2018] 184/365: Pasta Dinner

Saleh came over for dinner and we’re about to play Risk. It’s been awhile since I had a pasta dinner at Scruffy’s but the real winner on this plate? The Brussels sprouts. You know, those Green Giant bags you just pop into the microwave? The salt and pepper Brussels sprouts are my favourite. Everything else is covered in butter these days so it’s great to have a different flavour. Also, the garlic bread this time was fantastic. Not too certain what they did differently but I had two! .. Or maybe I was just starving.
