Feeling Under the Weather

October 1, 2018 by Mellie Dee Leave a Comment

Salata | Houston, Texas

This morning was free breakfast and a tour of the new floor where more than half the people on mine moved to over the weekend. It was bright and everyone had adjustable standing desk. Jealous.

I ordered a salad from Salata which was delicious. Saldy being healthy had a price. I started to vomit and had the worst case of bowels ever and I believe it to be from this place.

2018 | 274/365 | Pho Shack with Scruffy

[2018] 274/365: Pho Shack with Scruffy

Scruffy and I watched a bit of Kitchen Nightmares until I really couldn’t keep my eyes opened. It was torture going back and forth to the bathroom but that bit of time Scruffy was nice enough to let me nap.

After my nap, we headed to The Pho Shack, hoping their soup would cure me right up. It looked as if I didn’t eat at all and I packed it all home. I’m glad I didn’t eat it all because it would have just been wasted.

I’m feeling just a tad better since I’ve showered and am laying down. Hopefully by morning I’ll feel better because no work means no pay. Fingers crossed.

Burgers and Pies and Everything Nice

September 30, 2018 by Mellie Dee Leave a Comment

Red Robin | Katy, Texas

Scruffy and I went to Red Robin. For the first time in a long time I was craving a burger and this hit the spot. Was it the best mushroom burger ever? Bah but it was good enough to fill that craving. Their bottomless fries are okay. I like them super mushy so I wasn’t too happy about these. Scruffy got the ghost pepper one but it wasn’t spicy at all. Bummer.

2018 | 273/365 | Baking Again

[2018] 273/365: Baking Again

Scruffy stayed a bit to watch an episode of Kitchen Nightmares before he had to say goodbye with Luna.

I’m back in the kitchen again baking. I’ve lost a bit of touch since things weren’t turnigturnigtout how I was hoping. Fingers crossed they taste okay though. Chocolate Pie and M&M Blondies.

Steak Lunch

Pluckers | Houston, Texas

Scruffy and I still had our Plucker’s coupon from the Astros game to use and decided today was the right time. He ordered a beer while he watched the Aggie game. Five free wings each with a half order of fried pickles and spicy ranch fries. Their wings and pickles are better than the wings in my opinion.

2018 | 272/365 | Steak Lunch at Rami and Caitlin's

[2018] 272/365: Steak Lunch

Rami and Caitlin invited us over to see Peyton and we were given some steak for lunch. Scruffy and I shared this plate since we were still pretty full from Plucker’s. We hung out a bit and left to pick up groceries for dinner from HMart.

Korean BBQ with Grandma

Scruffy wanted Korean BBQ so we bought stuff for it and had a feast Katieand afterward I did a four phase skincare regiment while watching Once Upon a Time.

Katie and John are over chilling with Grandma. I tried but it is too dang hot down there so Scruffy and I are upstairs trying to decide what we should do before bedtime.

Rizzo at the Vet

[2018] 271/365: Rizzo at the Vet

Look at this cutie!

I got my car back and everything seems to be working. Fingers crossed nothing else happens because I’m tired of not having my car.

Afterwards I took Rizzo to the vet. He did an amazing job. No cries or whines or growls. I also bumped into Wacko and Zuco’s sister. Apparently she works there! What a small world.

Scruffy and Luna came over for dinner and now we went to HEB and at the drive thru for Whataburger for Scruffy. Haha

Being Fancy

High & Dry Rum Bar | Houston, Texas

Work went by like a breeze! I was so busy but I was looking forward to some fun time. Two of the ladies on our team are leaving and we had a small happy hour at the High and Dry Rum Bar to celebrate them. I went with the old fashioned since Scruffy likes that drink and it was all I know. It was actually pretty smooth and people were impressed that I ordered it. One of the girls ordered a fire drink! How cool is that?!

Downtown in the Evening

I’ve never been in this area downtown at night and it was like a dream. Lights, bright. Bars everywhere. This is exactly what I dreamed of as a little girl. Working downtown, walking down the streets late at night with some cool people. Reminds me of Hong Kong too.

2018 | 270/365 | Morton's Steakhouse

[2018] 270/365: Being Famcy

A few of us decided to go to dinner. We were going to go to Bombay Pizza but as we walked we changed to being fancy ending up at Morton’s Steakhouse. I was shocked at the prices but I figure to just let it go and order a steak. Everything else was shared with others. Delicious food and amazing conversations.

It was nice to get out and meet others on the team as well. I learned so much about everyone. I usually stay tied to my desk so although dinner was costly, I’m happy I went.
