Happy Halloween!! It’s been a super rainy day so Rizzo didn’t get to show off his legwarmers. I dressed him up as a girl earlier last week and pretended that that was his pumpkin picture. It worked. Haha He wasn’t a fan of either of these accessories.

Also, happy birthday to the Sissy. Brudda sent a video of Emmy saying happy birthday and I couldn’t stop watching. Sigh … Wish she was closer.

[2018] 304/365: Free Food Day

I’ve been lucky today. Prisila brought tamales and I got to try a bite! I am wanting to make this for fun because it’s so delicious. I wonder if there’s a healthier version though.

I was craving soup but they had free food for a lunch and learn so I was able to get some leftovers. The vegetables were my favourite!

We also had a Halloween party. It was pretty much just cookies and candy in one of the breakrooms! The cookies were so stinkin cute!!

This morning I had a conference at the vendor. They had some tacos there and coffee for breakfast. This is probably the first conference that I’ve been to where I stayed awake through the whole thing. It could be because of the coffee or because I was really into the topic.

One of the attendees was an acquaintance from high school. We exchanged numbers and talked about hanging out sometime this week. We’ll see how it goes though because we all know the “we should hang out!” spiel. One of the girl’s she hangs out with was a very good friend of mine when we were in fifth grade. Small world, right? Haha

[2018] 303/365: I Voted!

I picked up June after work and we went and got our sticker! I’m excited to see if the ones I voted for wins.

June treated me to dinner since she knows I’ve been too sad to really eat. Wings just don’t feel the same without Scruffy and I could only eat four whole wings before I gave up. Bleugh. Nothing tastes good lately.

[2018] 302/365: Distractions

Scruffy and I had called it quits this past Friday. One day short of our two years and seven months. He was who I wanted to spend forever with but along the way fears and anxieties grew to the point where I needed to find and fix myself before I could be with him completely and it just wasn’t fair for him to wait for me. He has been my rock and confident for so long that I forget how to be. I’m thankful to have so many loving friends and family surround me as I find myself again and can only hope he’s getting the same treatment.

I’m thankful for co-workers, though they don’t know what is exactly going on, to invite me out to lunch. It was even paid for! And for cupcakes just showing up randomly at the office. It was all necessary distractions that I took in.

It wasn’t a day to diet but I haven’t eaten these past few days that eating bad was so good. I’m the opposite of many people. I don’t eat when I’m sad and the last time this happened was before Scruffy and I started dating. Funny enough he had hurt me then and I lost almost thirty pounds. Maybe I can see a positive in all of this, that I’ll be somewhat skinnier. But maybe me saying that out loud kind of jinxed it.

Have you tried these before? They’re a little funky but actually not too bad. And much more heathier than chips! They’re expensive though. $5 a bag at Costco.

Grandma made me go and buy the lotto so I did and I did not win the big money. Sigh. I won $12 though but still not enough to make up me spending $15.

[2018] 301/365: Sissy’s Birthday

Yesterday morning I found out we were going to celebrate Sissy’s birthday early at dinner tonight. We had a home cooked meal and all cut the cake. June bought ready made creme brulee. The only downfall was when we realized we had to carmelize it ourselves. We didn’t have a blow torch so we used our lighters.

[2018] 300/365: Rizzo and Jasmine

The clan came over tonight and my goodness. Jasmine’s Chinese is SO freaking good that she can carry a conversation. And she’s very clear with her words.

She’s still extremely afraid when the dogs get close but she will pet them on her terms. It’s funny seeing her turn around just to prevent the pups from touching her other body parts.

I was able to hold Katrina for a long while when she was awake. I wonder if she’ll be okay when she gets older or if she’ll sense stranger danger.
