[2018] 365/365: New Year Eve

Currently spending New Year’s Eve with John, Mallory, and Trey. It’s cute how Mallory has her bestie and John has his. We did some fireworks with JJ and their neighbors then some card games. I am pooped. Someone take me home.

Recap of 2018 New Year Resolutions

Get a job and get off unemployment – I completed this goal in May right before my birthday and I have more exciting news that I’ll just wait for the new year to let y’all know.
Refocus on health and fitness – I kind of veered in the wrong direction with this but I’ve been better these last few months!
Continue reading more – in Goodreads I set myself up to read twelve books by the end of the year and I accomplished that way before the year was over! But I also stopped reading more so, there’s that.
Travel somewhere new – Lake Charles, Galveston, Brenham
Blog as much as possible – Today marks 365 days of blogging this year. I pushed myself to blog every night and I actually kind of liked it. Will I do the same this coming year, I am not sure but I will be more inclined knowing that all my memories are being captured!
Save money for a new place – I am still working on this as getting a place is E.X.P.E.N.S.I.V.E.!

My goals for the new year is the same. Hopefully I can travel somewhere near! I’m due for a vacation!

2019 Personal Planner

[2018] 364/365: 2019 Planner

If you know me personally you’d know that I always have a paper planner and how excited I get when I get a new one. I’m so glad my 2019 one came in right before the new year!

I chose an even smaller size, still vertical. I’ve already gone ahead and put in everyone’s birthdays.

The front and back cover is of Hong Kong and I love how it turned out. I do wish Personal Planner did away with the clear plastic covers and instead used the actual picture people chose and laminate it with thickness.

This is my second order of Personal Planner and so far I love it. I need more adventures though because I’d like to fill up as much as possible!

I woke up, got ready and met Juhi, Vijay, and Erin at State Fare Kitchen & Bar. I loved seeing their little glowing words – “good vibes only please”.

State Fare Kitchen and Bar | Houston, Texas | Mimosa Flight — Mimosa Flight [orange, pineapple, pomegranate, grapefruit] | $14

We shared a Mimosa Flight which some thought was a little too much champagne. Mine was perfect though – grapefruit is always the way to go! I love how Vijay has his thumbs up without knowning. Thanks and Gig ‘Em! haha

State Fare Kitchen and Bar | Houston, Texas | Avocado & Street Corn Toast — Avocado & Street Corn [local whole grain bread, mashed avocado, elote, crema, tajin] | $8 (fried egg | $1)

This was in it’s own category. Was it the best, no. But was it good enough to satisfy my taste buds of elote? Yes. I even got a boomerang shot of the egg yolk breaking. So pretty!

2018 | 363/365 | State Fare Kitchen and Bar | Houston, Texas | H-Town Hot Fried Chicken — H-Town Hot Fried [all natural half chicken, skillet cheddar potatoes & cauliflower] | $24

[2018] 363/365: Best Dang Half Chicken

This was literally the best half chicken I’ve ever had. The chicken breast was so moist (I hate that word) and the spicy crust was perfect crispness! I would definitely come back and order this again although I could do without the cheddar potatoes and cauliflower.

We had some great conversations and catch ups and cannot wait for more! Foodventures is pretty much all we do and when Juhi comes back from her stint in England, we can go back to our wonderful baking sessions. Eeek!

Dinner consisted of hot pot since it had been freezing out. It hit the spot and I was happy to get my fish tofu and plethora of veggies.

I felt like Emmy got most of us sick so I’ve been downing medicine and staying home as much as possible. When Brudda suggested playing 7 Days to Die, I jumped on it. BIL and Timothy joined in but it took thirty minutes to an hour to set up since we were having technical difficulties everywhere. I don’t know how I feel about it yet but I do not hate it that much. It’ll take time but deep down inside, I believe Diablo is a better game.

Work is going continental breakfast on January 2nd so this will be my last Breakfast Klub from work. We’ll have one more free breakfast meal come Monday and that will be it. I’m lucky to have been fed so much working at this job.

I went to lunch with Vicky and Joel at Finn’s Hall.

[2018] 362/365: Finn’s Hall – Low Tide

I chose Low Tide with Joel while Vicky went Vietnamese. I’m not too certain how I feel about the place since I only tried one stall but I will say I am not a great fan.

The fish was way too big and wasn’t completely fried well. The batter was a bit raw on one side so it was a bummer having to pull it off. The gumbo was salty but was the best thing I ordered. The Crawfish etoufee balls don’t have much to comment on.

I am starting to get sick and I really hope it’s because of allergies I don’t know I have. Fingers crossed I get well soon because I don’t have time to be sick.

[2018] 361/365: Dunkin Donuts

How festive! I love when companies do stuff like that! I went to buy a gift card and figured what the hey! So an iced caramel macchiato and blueberry donut holes for indulgence it was!

I had a drug test today that consisted of chopping off some hair and a saliva test. People think it’s just a few strands but in reality it’s over 100! Literally a chunk. It feels like a buzzcut in that area.

I cannot believe it’s already the weekend soon! Thank goodness!
