Did anyone tune in Sunday night? I totally forgot since I was busy with some personal things. And I only remembered because Jose mentioned it on his Facebook and it popped up on my news feed! Grease is one of my favourite movies so you can assume I was bummed I missed it!
After a little research, I found out you can stream on platforms like Hulu and On Demand! Lucky me for I was already planning to go to Sissy’s after work yesterday and they have On Demand! So it was a Grease + Chinese delivery kind of dinner night.
Not many people know I named my puppy Rizzo after the movie’s character, Betty Rizzo. I get my puppy is a boy and the character is a girl but I just really liked the name and she was my favourite character in the movie. If I get to adopt another, hopefully a girl, I’ll name her Zuko and possibly change the spelling to Zucco but who knows.
Speaking of Rizzo, Vanessa Hudgens’ did a great job in portraying her when it came to singing. By now, everyone’s heard about her dad passing away recently before. She was such a professional and was very strong to follow throughout. I was actually a little afraid of hating this remake because if she failed as Rizzo, it would of ruined it. I will say her acting is still … meh.
Julianne Hough (Sandy Olsson) did great. She had the innocent voice down pat. I secretly have a girl crush on her. She seems to be able to do it all, sing, act, dance …. As for Aaron Tveit (Danny Zuko), I would say they could of cast a better Zuko. It took me a long time to figure out he was in Les Miserables which fit him better. The cast was a pretty good pick of well known people and I love seeing them all together.
I was not a big fan of all the changes they made. The moved songs around and added songs. Just ugh, no. I wouldn’t say I hate it, but I didn’t love it as much as I’d hoped.
Maybe they’ll make more Live! musicals but don’t change up so much. I remember watching Sound of Music with Carrie Underwood which I actually loved. But then again i never watched that movie before so I didn’t have much to say about the differences.
What’s next? I’m ready.
