Once Scruffy came over we packed up the car and went on our merry way to San Antonio stopping at Mickey D’s for breakfast.
As he drove I used his lucky penny and scratched off lottery tickets he got me. Sadly the only luck it gave us was a five dollar return. I guess it’s better than nothing.
We walked around the Riverwalk and stopped at Barriba Cantina.
It’s always been a dream of mine to stop and sit on the balcony of a restaurant on the Riverwalk, order a drink and just chill. I was able to fill that dream today and it was pretty nice.
The only thing we hated was how they made it sound like we were getting chips and dip for free and they ended up being $10. That’s how they get you. Horrible people. Also, what Mexican place not give free chips and dip. LAME RIVERWALK PLACES I GUESS!
I’ve always wanted to stop at La Villita and walk around and we somehow ended up walking past it.
I was able to stop at a couple of shops like Plaza Taxco who sells sterling silver jewelry from Taxco.
And Besarte who sells random jewelry, arts, and the such.
We stopped by Total Wine to grab some goodies before heading to the hotel to check in early.
Scruffy called La Quinta Inn & Suites San Antonio Airport earlier in the week and told them it was our 2nd Anniversary and they upgraded us to a suite and gave us a goodie bag. Is it bad that we didn’t correct them when they thought it was our wedding anniversary?
Scruffy called hoping to purchase some champagne deal but they didn’t have one so he bought a tiny one from Houston and surprised me with it! Cutest thing.
I took a nap while he watched telly then we got ready and headed to The Hoppy Monk.
When it comes to drink places I usually sit while he drinks. But we were both surprised when we found the brussels sprouts and it quickly became our favourite to the point where we ordered a second. That’s how good it was! If you ever come to this place you definitely need to try this.We went to the highlight of the night, the number one reason we came back (not really, but really), Smashin Crab. On our last trip to San Antonio we found this place and agreed to come back during crawfish season so here we are.
I took this picture with the beer for the hedgehog hanging off so Jenny can see since she got it for me and it’s super cute.
We started with a pound of each, crawfish and shrimp, with level three trinity. The crawfish was way too small and over cooked for me to get more. Yes. This is coming from the crawfish queen. Instead we opted for two pounds of shrimp with level four trinity. Scruffy quickly regretted it and agreed we should have stuck with level three. Haha
[2018] 096/365: Silly Photoshoots With My Love
These silly picture sessions are my favourite. It shows our goofy side for sure. So much laughter every time. This picture makes me laugh so much.
Overall it’s been an amazing trip and he’s gone above and beyond to make it special. Thanks, my love. I’m forever grateful especially while I’m typing this and you’re getting ignored for a couple hours but I mean, someone did forget the laptop cable making this post harder to achieve.
I’ll add the links to these place so when I get back home. Til then, night!
