2020 | Week 36 of Quarantine | Santa’s Wonderland | College Station, Texas

November 22, 2020 by Mellie Dee Leave a Comment

2020 | Week 36 of Quarantine | Emmy Presents

I took two half days and a Friday off to spend with Emmy. I got her a 7 day advent calendar to help countdown when her parents were coming to pick her up to go back home. She had fun opening it every night and got to open day 7 with her parents.

One of the days I was off, I took her to Walgreens where she looked at the candy aisle with glee. I didn’t get her anything though since we had planned to get a happy meal from McDonald’s.

2020 | Week 36 of Quarantine | Emmy Gingerbread Mansion

I took off early on Monday and we did a gingerbread mansion together. She had so much fun eating it while working and was so excited to show it to EVERYONE — my parents and June when they got home, Sissy and BIL when they visited, and Brudda and SIL when they came to pick her up.

2020 | Week 36 of Quarantine | Santa's Wonderland | College Station, Texas | Emmy

We did the gingerbread house to get her in the festive mood since I got her tickets to Santa’s Wonderland with the parents and June.

This has always been on my list and I always thought it was very romantic to go on dates like this with a significant other but it never happened so what better time than with everyone I love?

2020 | Week 36 of Quarantine | Santa's Wonderland | College Station, Texas | Emmy & Mellie Dee

She had fun making faces at everything. I wish they had other foods to offer us but with the pandemic and it being Monday, not many stalls were opened. My parents and June had fun as well and loved the hayride the best since there was A LOT to see. Emmy loved it so much that she asked me to take her to Christmas practically every day after.

2020 | Week 36 of Quarantine | Emmy & JJ Playdate | Mary Jo Park | Jacob & Mallory

I had Friday off and took Emmy to Mary Jo Peckham Park to meet up with JJ for their playdate. They played with rocks and practically spun around in different things.

2020 | Week 36 of Quarantine | Emmy & JJ Playdate | Mary Jo Park | Jacob, Mallory, Mellie Dee

These are my favourite pictures I took. They are so cute (and us)! They were both sad we had to say goodbye but we’re already looking at Christmastime when she’ll be back in town to play.

2020 | Week 36 of Quarantine | Sunset Walks | Emmy & Rizzo

Per usual, daily walks. Emmy was sad that she was having her last walk with Rizzo. The views have been gorgeous! That bottom right picture has got my heart so happy! It still amazes me how beautiful mother nature is.

2020 | Week 36 of Quarantine | Garden and New Plants

Mum and I went to a garden center and I loved walking down the aisle to lit Christmas trees. And I got my second plant. The pot says Cal Cor Plant so I’m not sure exactly what it’s called but I know they’re also known as polka dot plants. They have other colours but these two creates such a Christmas vibe for my bedroom.

2020 | Week 36 of Quarantine | Early Thanksgiving, Brudda, SIL and Mum Birthday | Sushi Neato | Crumbl | Whole Foods Cake

Saturday, Brudda and SIL came down and Sissy and BIL came over to celebrate an early Thanksgiving and birthdays of Mum, Brudda, and SIL. I FINALLY got my sushi after a year later! It’s been a no-no in our house since the pandemic but I’m glad we got an exception.

We had ordered Door Dash for Sushi Neato but they were having issues with their app and website. Sushi Neato told us the food had been ready but no person came to pick it up so Sissy and BIL went and got the food. After calling Door Dash, they ended up refunding us the whole meal! Love Door Dash’s service!

2020 | Week 36 of Quarantine | Eats

Great eats for the week includes Starbucks, heart shaped poached eggs, and some of the best pepppered shrimp!

Now that Emmy is gone, it’s back to my usual scheduled meal times. I’m sure being with her makes me gain weight with the amount of times she eats. This girl has to eat a snack before bed. Literally, eat, pee, brush her teeth, watch a few minutes of a show, then bedtime. Crazy but at least it’s consistent.

2020 | Week 36 of Quarantine | Emmy and Mellie Dee Selfies

When her parents came, she did not want ANYTHING to do with us. Understandable. Luckily, she had to sleep one last night with me since Brudda got Lasik surgery and couldn’t have a crazy girl kick him in the face in the middle of the night.

In the morning, we brushed our teeth and went back into bed and watched Bluey for a bit so that she wouldn’t wake up her parents. I was able to get a few shots of us together and she even told me she loved me and gave me a lot of kisses.

I miss her but I’m also happy to have the whole bed to myself again. Finding activities for a three year old is exhausting but I wouldn’t trade these memories for anything else.

Twistee Treat |Cypress, Texas

Pho and Dessert Delivered Working at Home

Due to the water burst in East Houston we all got to work from home today. June didn’t have to work so she made plans with my parents for lunch and kindly brought something back for me!

Mellie Dee and Jacob Chilling

After work I ran some errands and headed over to Mallory’s. I had John’s early birthday present I wanted to give before I forgot but to also destress from such a shitty week at work. Jacob was nice enough to take a selfie with me. His eyes are so pretty. I love when he stares at me.

Habachi Dinner | Mallory

We ordered habachi dinners. Vegetarian for me, steak for Mallory and a whole bunch of fried rice for John. I always forget habachi has amazing fried rice! And they have one sauce that is to die for. Fits perfectly mixed with the rice.

Twistee Treat | Cypress, Texas | Mallory

Mallory, Jacob and I went for a sweet treat after dinner at Twistee Treat. Strawberry ice cream with a chocolate sprinkle waffle cone for me. A vanilla ice cream dipped in Cherry coating for Mallory. It is so dang simple yet so dang delicious. Their strawberry flavour doesn’t taste fake at all! This might be my new favourite ice cream place but it’s a little far.

When we got back I went with John and JJ to the clubhouse to battle Pokemons. They’re obsessed with the game and they’ve found others! So crazy. We won and I caught a Mewtwo so that’s cool.

Emma’s 3rd Birthday & Gilly

January 18, 2020 by Mellie Dee Leave a Comment

Yummy Crawfish and Seafood with June

I went and picked up my metallic Deadpool from Box Lunch then headed off to lunch with June at Yummy Crawfish and Seafood. The place was packed! Our stomaches have definitely gotten smaller because we couldn’t even finished what we were sharing!

Emma's Third Birthday Party | Bounce House

I dropped June off and I headed to Wacko’s new house to celebrate Emma’s 3rd birthday. Nice decorations and a bounce house.

Emma's Third Birthday Party | Tacos and Soup

The best thing was of course the food. Beef, pork, and chicken tacos. They were LEGIT. And nachos and bean soup to seal it all up. I was hoping I could eat more but I couldn’t.

I left and headed to Mallory’s while they were still partying it up. We watched an episode or two of Dynasty and caught up.

Toro Sushi | Cypress, Texas | Gilly

Then I headed to Toro Sushi to meet up with Gilly. He puts sugar in his soy sauce! And nothing else. How crazy is that. This place was actually super delicious and we ended up talking for three hours about everything and nothing.

I’m back home now wishing the weekend wasn’t about to be over. Hoping this upcoming week will be a better one at work. Sigh.

2019 New Year Eve & Finn Arrives

January 1, 2020 by Mellie Dee Leave a Comment

Two posts in one day because this new year is already off to a great start! I hope you all had a great start as well. It’s a long post so you can look at pictures if you’d like. Enjoy!

Kura Revoloving Sushi | Katy, Texas

I worked on New Year Eve but left early since I worked so much during my Christmas vacation. I made a trip to the new Kura Revolving Sushi that they just opened up near my house. It was delicious as ever and they even have new items on the menu. I ended up eating a whole lot of plates of scallop sushi and called it a day. It’s been a long time since I went to eat on my own and as usual, it was very empowering and peaceful.

2019 New Year Eve Bubbly

I ran some errands then took a thirty-minute nap before heading over to Mallory’s. This was all the bubbly I acquired the last few days. We didn’t drink them all but the two bottles of champs were gone before you know it because we’re crazy like that. But mostly because Mallory was breastfeeding and was on the clock before the next feed.

2019 New Year Eve | Mallory, Jacob, Mellie Dee

John, Trey, and JJ went to the store to buy groceries and fireworks while Mallory, Jacob, and I stayed behind. We took some selfies with Jacob and he was being such a good baby, opening his eyes and looking at the camera.

2019 New Year Eve | Steak Dinner

Mallory made the asparagus when the boys were gone. When they got home, Trey made my steak and pepper and onions while John made my corn. Everything was delicious but it was way too much so I put it in a baggie to go. Sadly, when I left I forgot it and I’m super sad now.

Mallory, John, JJ, and Jacob went outside to do fireworks while Trey and I stayed inside to eat our dinner because we wanted to enjoy it … with episodes of You. Mallory and I were surprised Trey watches You and encouraged him to continue.

2019 New Years Eve | Mallory, John, Trey, JJ, Mellie Dee

We took a selfie before JJ went to bed. This is my favourite picture because look at JJ. Too cute. I love that John has his best friend, and Mallory has hers. Love you all and couldn’t have thought of a better way to spend our last day of 2019!

When JJ and Mallory went to bed, John, Trey and I finished the episode we were watching beforehand John changed it to something else. I bid them goodnight and headed home before the countdown to celebrate with my parents and June. And also because I had to pack for Dallas to celebrate my nephew, Finn, being born!

Whataburger and Netflix Movie to Dallas

We didn’t sleep much and was already on the road before six-thirty in the morning. We stopped by Whataburger for breakfast and I watched a Netflix movie I downloaded before.

First Meet & Greet with Finn | Pokeworks

I took a dang good nap in the car and before I knew it, we were already in Dallas. We dropped stuff at home then picked up food and headed to the hospital. Pokeworks and baby holding goes well together.

Finn & Mellie Dee First Meeting

He is so itty bitty. The only other time I went to the hospital to hold a newborn baby was Scruffy’s niece. He is so fragile and has the lungs of a singer.

Bang Frose Rose

We left after an hour or so and headed home. I stole a Bang Frose Rose from Brudda and I was surprised that it was actually pretty good.

Visiting Emmy | Joey

Mum and I left to Jenny’s to visit Emmy. She has a fever and has not gotten to meet her little brother. No one on SIL’s side has gotten to. It was so painful to see her so quiet and out of it. Joey, on the other hand, was all up in your business wanting attention. What a cutie!

The Boiling Crab | Plano, Texas

After a good while of hanging out with Jenny and Le, we left home. Sammi put in an order at The Boiling Crab. She works there and was able to get us 20% off which is nice. We made extra shrimps so we could dip in the sauce so that we didn’t have to spend so much money. We got shrimp, clams, and mussels and it was divine. The sauces we didn’t end up using will be coming home with me to make more delicious seafood with.

10 in Deadpool Collection

After dinner, we went and visited SIL and Finn one last time before heading back home. Brudda bought all these 10-inch Deadpools. One of each version will be coming home with me as my early birthday present. The rest will go to him or returned. My Deadpool collection is growing quite nicely thanks to him.

Brudda, parents and I are currently watching a Chinese movie. I’m going to start my project for Finn’s room. Wall decals. if it comes out well, I share it with you all.

2019 SIL’s Birthday

November 29, 2019 by Mellie Dee Leave a Comment

Rizzo Sleeping with IPad

I wasn’t able to sleep all night so I stayed up playing games and watching telly while Rizzo slept like a log next to me. Moments like these make my heart happy.

Drywall with Brudda

We started putting up the rest of the drywall. I give props to all the renovators, housebuilders, and construction workers because it’s such hard work.

Ninja Ramen | Plano, Texas | Door Dash

We ordered from Ninja Ramen through Door Dash. Surprisingly good and Emmy even ate a lot! I would order from here again, especially because their level of spicy is on point. After the quick lunch, we were back at it renovating the attic. Then I took a shower, shopped online, took a quick cat nap, and played with Emmy while parents, Brudda and SIL were off buying a new car.

Gogiya | Plano, Texas

Dinner was at Gogiya to celebrate SIL’s birthday a day early. You could choose all you can eat for Korean BBQ or Hot Pot. We first wanted Korean BBQ until we realized it’d be an extra $14 per person if we wanted the good meats so we switched over to hot pot.

Gogiya | Plano, Texas | Salad Bar

They had a salad bar you can eat from. Mostly vegetables, seafood, and hot sauces. So freaking good. They could do better with their choice of sauces though.

Gogiya | Plano, Texas | Personal Hot Pot

Choosing hot pot was a good idea. Everyone had their own personal hot pot to cook from. I got full faster because I had my own pot where no one stole what I put in! I wish we could do something like this at home but it’d be super expensive.

June and I are currently watching a movie in the media room. Brudda, SIL, and I were going to go to Richard’s annual Friendsgiving but we were all super tired from a busy day, not to mention the drive back I have to make.

I cannot believe the holiday is already over. Luckily I have all my Fridays off for the rest of the year which means only a four day work week. Yippee!
