Ashy and I haven’t seen one another since the day Scruffy and I broke up. We’ve had a handful of pleasantries by texts throughout the year+ and finally made plans for him to stop by since he wanted to give Mum some succulents.
I had the lovely pleasure of finally meeting Maggie the Beagle. She is a little bigger than Rizzo and they got along pretty well. No growls, all love from Rizzo which is a first and with his tail wagging non-stop. I guess he missed Ashy.
We both held each other’s dogs for the hour or so conversation we had catching up about each other’s lives. It was nice to see how happy he is which was all I ever wanted for him.
When we finished our conversation, he started taking out all the plants and succulents he brought Mum. She was in love with it all. My favourite was the red cactus.
These plants brought back up our usual talk of opening up our own wedding business, 50/50, which he was still down for. Wishing it was true but also afraid to since he said I’d have to bring the business and, let’s be real, I have no friends or connections.
Rizzo loved sniffing Maggie’s butt and followed her around our backyard while Ashy and Mum walked around her garden. When I look at Maggie, all I see is Daisy, but with much fresher breath.
We bid our farewells and I continued watching Bitten, a show I started last night and am already on season 3 because I’m crazy like that. I also got to video chat with Emmy and her favourite word right now is booty in Chinese. She said “Goodbye, booty!” in Chinese as she ended our conversation. How lovely.
I made a lovely baked salmon dinner with ALL the veggies roasted nicely tonight. And I mean all, broccoli, asparagus, zuchinnis, carrots and cherry tomatoes. If you know me, this is my favourite go to dinner to make and eat and have never gotten tired of it. And with the quarantine coming, I’m going to need to search for more salmon!
