Full Day of Emmy

Zero Degrees | Dallas, Texas

This morning I finally got to see Emmy! We played a little bit and she headed to her gym class. After she was done we all headed to IHOP then Zero Degrees for drinks. Matcha Milk Tea for the win!

[2018] 244/365: Emmy and Rizzo Asleep

We headed back to the house thinking Emmy would fall in a long enough nap. Instead she woke up after thirty minutes or so and was wild for hours. Sissy and I had to pretend sleep for her to fall asleep and soon enough I was able to capture this cute picture.

Yoon Korean BBQ | Dallas, Texas

We stopped by Joanna’s to say hi to her, the kids, and Katie before heading to dinner at Yoon Korean BBQ. We weren’t thinking of doing all you can eat but individual dishes were pretty much almost the same price. Though the food is good, the service is horrible and we believe it’s because the top was already added since we had five people. So lame.

Missha | Dallas, Texas

Brudda took Emmy home and SIL, Jenny, June and I headed to Missha, a Korean beauty store for some masks, mostly gifts for others in the future but I’m excited to try them on.

Tom n Tom's Coffee | Dallas, Texas

Right next door is Tom n Toms Coffee where us four ladies each got a drink and headed to the second floor to chill and relax and talk. It is pretty nice to have this moment since it’s been awhile since I hung out with SIL and Jenny.

We are finally headed home where I can shower and cuddle with Rizzo until we fall asleep.

Me Time = Mask Time

Homemade Pastor and Shrimp Tacos

Work, blood test, leftovers for lunch, a nap and some random shows later Scruffy and I were cooking dinner for ourselves and June. Homemade Pastor and Shrimp tacos. Yum!

2018 | 236/365 | Mud Mask

[2018] 236/365: Me Time = Mask Time

Scruffy is playing FIFA with Blake so I’m having some me time. Mud Mask and a Netflix movie, Like Father with Kristen Bell and Kelsey Grammer.

It’s been a long time since I’ve done a mask by myself so it feels super refreshing. Time to wash this off, finish off with my skincare routine and finish the movie.

Byeeeee!

Cosa Bella Salon & Day Spa | Houston, Texas

I got a haircut today. I’m still in search of a new place so I ended up at Cosa Bella. I feel like not too long ago (two months?) I had my hair cut and it has grown a lot so I snipped off over four inches of hair!

Cosa Bella Salon & Day Spa | Houston, Texas | Haircut

It’s a quaint little place and right when I walked in people were ready to work on me  I first got my brows done then I had a very nice lady cut my hair.

Cosa Bella Salon & Day Spa | Houston, Texas | Facial

I wanted to book a facial as well but the front desk lady wasn’t so nice and said there wasn’t any opened slots. Luckily the lady who did my brows had time and she gave me a very relaxing facial. As relaxing as it could be since I had a lot of blackheads and she needed to get into them. She asked me to come back and book a larger section of time and we could get more done but we’ll see. I might go somewhere else for a full facial one day.

I was there for two hours but they were both super nice and kept the conversation going making it a fast visit. They were very informative as well which is always great.

2018 Houston Restaurant Week | Kitchen 713 | Houston, Texas

I had thirty minutes to kill before dinner for Houston Restaurant Week with Juhi and Erin at Kitchen 713. I drove over and relaxed in the car as I waited for time to pass.

Soon enough we were seated and were served our first course, Crispy Eggplant and Gumbo. They picked the same thing while I went the less traditional route. Everything tasted delicious.

2018 Houston Restaurant Week | Kitchen 713 | Houston, Texas | Black Vinegar Braised Oxtail, Shrimp & Grits, & Bourbon Glazed Pork Chops

We couldn’t put a dent into our second course and packed most of it away. Black Vinegar Braised Oxtail, Shrimp & Grits, and Bourbon Glazed Pork Chops. There was so many oxtail portions that I brought it home for my family!

2018 Houston Restaurant Week | Kitchen 713 | Houston, Texas | Espresso Creme Brulee & Sweet Potato Bread Pudding

We all saved room for dessert. They both ordered the Sweet Potato Bread Pudding and the Espresso Creme Brulee for me. We polished these off.

[2018] 226/365: Juhi & Erin

It was nice getting together with these ladies and being able to enjoy a joyouse evening together. We talked nonstop for two and a half hours and if it was the weekend I’m sure we could have talked for many more hours.

It sucks that they have their own stories together now without me but I guess that’s just life. I can only hope we have more of these moments together.

Now to get ready for bed and cuddle with Rizzo. Night, everyone!

Rainbow Masking

2018 | 039/365 | Bonvivant Botanical Mellow Clay Mask

[2018] 039/365: Bonvivant Botanical Mellow Clay Mask

I’ve had these in my arsenal for a while but never brought myself to use them so I looked up to see the best way to do so. Did you know there’s a thing as rainbow masking?

You pretty much figure out what areas need to be worked with which type of mask and slather it onto those areas only.

I tried it and I feel like I’ve been missing out all my life. My skin feels much more alive doing it this way. Moisturized where needed, sucked up the nasty where it was needed, and calm down places where needed, etc.

Everyone should try this method.

Sushi 9 and Bubble Clay Masks

January 5, 2016 by Mellie Dee 1 Comment

Running errands all morning one of which was waiting in line in the post office. The things I do to surprise people. Sent out Cantu’s gift since, due to a little mishap, I wasn’t able to give it to him this weekend.

Then Forest got an inspection along with a car wash with detailing. I felt so fancy doing so. I’ve never had my car detailed before. And I love it. Gah … this might be a problem. I did tell myself that every few months, I was going to get my car detailed. Too much love for him right now. He is a beaut.

Sushi 9 All You Can Eat | Katy, Texas

June was off today as well so we decided to try this all you can eat sushi place and man …

Sushi 9 Food | Katy, Texas

Look at all the food we ordered. Actually we ordered more than this but I only took pictures of every new dish we ordered. The good thing about this all you can eat is that it comes out fresh. It’s not a buffet at all. You order what you want and they make it.

And because of that I would say service was quite slow. We were there for over an hour and if you know me and my people, we are fast eaters. Put down the dish and we’ll be done in less than 20 minutes. But I guess eating slower makes you eat more? I am not sure actually.

I already know what I would not order next time for sure so it was nice to have a variety to choose from.

Sushi 9 Receipt | Katy, Texas

The breakdown of everything we ordered. I did order a fried rice to go so just ignore that.

Lunch is only $15.99 all you can eat.
Dinner is only $25.99 all you can eat.
** 15% if you do not finish your food. Obviously because they don’t want waste.

Lunch already has a big array of choices but they kindly let me look at the dinner menu and there are a lot more choices. Note that sashimi is only for the dinner all you can eat. And because of that, I got a gift card so I can take my parents and June again. They’re doing a promotion where if you buy a $50 you get $10 or $100 for $20. I did the $100. I’m excited because I know they’ll love it!

If you’re not wanting the all you can eat choice, you can always order a la carte. And they even have Happy Hour. I’m hoping Mallory will join me one of these days.

Marion Carbonated Piggy Clay Bubble Mask

Back in Hong Kong, I picked up Marion carbonated Piggy Clay Bubble Mask. I finally got a chance to open it up and do it.

Mellie Dee and Marion Carbonated Piggy Clay Bubble Mask

I smeared that crap all over my face and waited for a good 5 minutes for it to bubble. It made me sneeze a few times. Then I massaged it in my face and washed it off with lukewarm water and now I have skin of a baby’s bottom.

Sissy copied me and bought one too and she and BIL used it and both love it. They believe it does help clean up the pores which is what I have been wanting. The only thing BIL said was that the fizzing annoyed him because it felt uncomfortable.

I’m going to use this once a month and see how it goes. Maybe I’ll order more. Eeps. Love when things work out perfectly!
