Hi, I’m Mellie Dee.
This all began a few years into being a college student, desperately wanting to connect with long distance friends. We started our own blogs to stay connected and have since then graduated college.
Due to our busy lives, I’m the only one left blogging because I got used to having an outlet whenever I needed to document my ups and downs and fell in love with the community.
A year after graduation, I was diagnosed with a sickness that changed my life and ended up making an impulsive decision to turn into a pet adoption shelter to sign papers to bring Rizzo home.
Okay, maybe not so impulsive as I’ve always wanted to have my own little love. But impulsive to where, I didn’t think about all that comes with taking care of a living, breathing thing. But it has been the smartest, impulsive move I’ve ever made. He’s forever loyal to me and teaches me how to love every day.
You’ll see Rizzo’s best friends periodically pop up on the blog: Krypto, Rocky, Pluto, Bruno, and Kato. They’re my parents and siblings little fur babies.
I’m still trying to find my place in this world, who I am, where I want to be, and what I can do to make a difference in someone’s life. I hope you will follow me on my journey while I make new memories as I attempt to figure it all out.

Oh. My. Holy all that is cute in this world! What breed of dog is Rizzo? (can we talk about how cute that name is too?) I’m in love and need a little Rizzo cousin in my life pronto!!
Terrier mixed with a we don’t know. We’re leaning on the Chihuahua side though. You can definitely play with him! He loves company.
