The week started out a little rocky. I used T-Mobile’s free Popeyes sandwich deal but I didn’t get it. A little peeved, I went out of character as you can tell from my Tweet. T-Mobile made up for it so I’m happy again.
Pizza Hut was giving away a one topping medium pizza Friday so I took advantage of it. Luckily this actually came and my family was able to enjoy it.
I got a little surprise in the mail from Patricia. Second part of my birthday gift! Now I just need a place to wear it to. Thanks, boo!
The second surprise was my Origins delivery. I was ordering the week of my birthday and Sissy decided her and BIL will pay for part of it as my gift. Buying the left four gave me the right nine things and a bag for free. Eek!
The third surprise was from Caitlin. It was her birthday Friday and I texted her my usual happy birthday message to which she replied by calling me on video chat! It was a nice surprise since we hadn’t spoken since pretty much when Scruffy and I broke up. She works in the same company as I do now and caught up on a lot of other things. There was a lot of laughter. I wonder if it’s a one time thing but it was nice nonetheless to be able to see how everyone was doing.
Rocky, Rizzo and I are still doing the usual outside chilling as much as possible. I think it’s been helping them, getting so much outside air and sun.
Gordon and Patsy decided to have another Crawfish Boil Saturday and invited me and Timothy again. We are now pros at the Asian sauce you tend to eat at restaurants. So unhealthy but so delicious. We had a lot of conversations, one of which was what is the difference between walk, run and jog in Chinese/English. A debacle that I ended up calling Mum and it was still questionable.
This morning, Sissy and BIL came and delivered pastries. The crawfish etouffee and elote ones were the best! We all sat outside with them 6 feet away. We video called Brudda and made it a party. We’ve been doing a lot more calls than before and if you know my family that was already a lot. It’s been nice though.
We had Hot Pot, because as Mallory says, that’s what my family does to celebrate things. Since June has to work next weekend, we figured this can be a super early birthday celebration for Dad. For his day of birth we would do delivery from somewhere he’d want … maybe steak.
June wanted mojitos and asked me to make her some. I’ve never really mixed drinks before but I gave it a whirl and made pineapple mojitos. They actually liked it! Dad even wanted seconds. It doesn’t look traditional since I didn’t put in mint leaves for decoration but for my first time, I’m happy.
