Scruffy was recommended two places in Richmond to check out by his co-worker so we decided to do that on Friday.
We started off at Clancy’s Public House so that we could grab a snack and a drink before heading over to the next destination. We had dinner plans with his parents and friends for some homemade ribs so we didn’t want to fill up.I don’t remember what Scruff ordered because I was so excited for my flight of beers. The R&D Mint Chocolate was my least favourite so I gave that to Scruffy since it was he actually liked it. But the real winner was the Tasty AF.
I loved it so much that I took the bartender’s recommendation, an Irish Car Bomb with Tasty AF instead of Guiness and it was de-freaking-licious.
We shared an order of fish and chips and I declared these to be one of the best fries I’ve had in my life. Crispy on the inside and mushy on the outside. Perfection.
We decided that this little gem of a place will become a more regular spot for us.
After downing everything and feeling a little tipsy we headed over to Braman Winery and Brewery.
Though they started out as a winery, we decided to try all the beers first and maybe come back for the wine another day.
I love that their wristbands had perforated tears to track how many more refills you get. I got the 10 oz glass with four refills for $10 and Scruffy got the 16 oz glass with three refills for $12. I’m not 100% sure about the prices but it sounds about right.
There wasn’t much to rave about with the beers but the ambiance was classy. Pretty much any place that has twinkly lights steals my heart. They even had live music playing that actually sounded decent. Though the beers didn’t captivate us enough I would like to come back for a taste of their wines.
When Sunday rolled around, we made plans to have lunch with my parents at Tasty Ko.
The worst to the best: seaweed soup, sweet tea, squid, pancake, bulgogi, galbi. Out of all the side dishes only three were good.
Keep in mind that a bowl of rice comes with each entree. Every bowl after costs one dollar.
Overall it wasn’t a let down and we’ll probably be back since Scruffy loves the bulgogi.
